Actually a very good article, that will be deleted once MS apply pressure to Aunty Beeb....read it while it lasts.
Live mode, people, live mode....try it with no risk, no installation, nothing.....just pop it in the CDROM or USB slot, and enjoy a real OS in seconds (in the minute or so it takes to start up from something as slow as USB or CD, it does every single thing windows does in a 1hr+ install!!). Even if you have no interest at all in upgrading your OS...that USB key or CD, WILL save your arse one day, the day you NEED to check your mail or place a bid on ebay, and on which, your PC refuses to start up...95 times out of 100, there's bugger all wrong with the machine, windows has just filled it's trunks for no reason, or Norton detected the windows kernel as a virus, AGAIN (OK, I think it's right, but that doesn't make it any less soul destroying when it happens).
Actually, the minute I can find a source of cheap USB keys.....I'll make one for any of you who want it, saving you even the effort of downloading it.
EDIT: Apparently there's a new bug fix pack for Vista, called Windoze 7, although I hear it's not a free download for those with vista, surely some mistake. Either way, it seems to have some way to go before it's ready for the everyday desktop user......... Vista2.0 (win7)

Got it first thing this morning. Removed from the packaging, took disc out and installed on the table. 9 hours later, after a stressful day, I have had 7 cups of coffee and not once has the disc stuck to my cup. Unbelievable.
Now, what's all this crap about putting in on a computer?
ONE MORE EDIT: One more bit of Ubunto love.....I am using Ubuntu Netbook Remix (Hardy Heron) on my Asus EEE-PC..... As you may have seen me mention....I fucking detest printers, they are robots without The Three Laws, and are ulcer inducing in windows, and used to be impossible to use in Linux unless you were a black belt hacker. Well, for a larf the other day, I plugged my Epson printer (which lives FAR from my sight most of it's days), into the netbook. As expected, no reaction at all, no "hey I found a printer", no "Help, I need drivers for the flummy you just stuck in me", nada. Before I unplugged it though, I loaded up OpenOffice, and tried to print a document.....came out first time, perfect, no questions asked. So, the next time you hear somebody bigging up windows hardware support, or slagging linux in the same respect (as was justified about 8 years ago)....ask them if they've ever plugged a printer into windows for the first time and had it be ready to print instantly, no CD's no downloads, not twatting. If there's any printer geeks out there, it's worth pointing out that the properties page for the printer has every single parameter that can be altered, available for the user to completely banjaxx.
