I have an addiction to "Top Gear" All the gearheads have heard of the Ariel Atom. Half-ton bare bones car with no windscreen etc and ungodly power.
They have made a V8 version that makes 500 HP in a half-ton car! OH MY GOD!!! I am giggling at how wonderfully absurd it is.
That's amazing, it was good to start with, but with a V8, it's fantsatic.
Always been a big fan of top gear, seen almost every episode since I was under 10 years old, when it was a car program, not an entertainment program with cars in.
Hard to believe that its street legal, but I like the back to the basics approach... I love toggle switches, all this lavish crap that sports cars now-a-days put in their cars, it seems they forgot how to make a bare-bones vehicle. Love this car.

I'm with you with that, the nearest thing to a bare bones sports car these days is the lotus elise, which is quite tasty, but a bit steep. I'd rather just get a 2nd hand (or 3rd or 4th) rear wheel drive car (i'e old BMW) for track days, but the wife would rather I stayed at home and washed the windows!
