At last - its almost out - 'Is That The 12" Mix' book with forum contributors

After lots of delays 'Is That The 12" Mix' is at the printers & will be available in the next week or so.

It you remember, about 30000000000 years ago I asked forumites here what the first 12" single they ever bought was, and the story behind it....well a few of those comments have made it into the book.

The book is a lighthearted look at the 1980s, the rise and rise of the remix and the 12" single.

At one point we were going to use the Blue Monday sleeve as the book cover but have eventually gone for something else. Peter Saville has been kind enough to let us use the image.

Is that the 12" Mix?

Good show.

My first 12" vinyl single was Crispy Bacon by the French techno maestro Laurent Garnier.

The first 1980s 12" singles which I bought at a second-hand record fair in (London) Victoria were Personal Jesus and It's Called A Heart, both by Depeche Mode. (I bought these ones because I thought they would suit the dance floor best. In fact, I liked both b-sides more!)
