I'm so upset that I missed out on Queens of the Stoneage. They played a venue in San Francisco that holds about 800 people. I would have gone permanently deaf, but I think it might have been worth it. Friday I'm checking out the Mr. Show "Hooray for America" Tour which should be genius. Late in October is the international noise conspiracy and division of laura lee. say all you want about trendy swedish punk bands but the lead singer of tinc is a complete maniac on stage. I also have tickets for Jets to Brazil in november but I'm ashamed to admit it. Waiting for beck/flaming lips to go on sale.. unfortunately I have to miss underworld and doves these next couple of weeks due to lack of funds. tragic..
Scheduling conflicts kept me from gigs by the Doves and Queens Of The Stone Age. Looks like it'll just be Jurassic 5 in a couple of weeks as well as some solo gigs by Sally Timms and Neko Case.
elvis costello on november 1, if i can still get tickets. just in time for my birthday, as well!
Morcheeba next month (I am not too keen on them although I like their last single a lot, but several friends are so I'll tag along) and I think that JJ72 are coming to Barcelona supporting someone pretty soon.

You'll be pleased to know that you are in for a treat.
Ferry's gig in Barcelona was the best I've seen this year (does that not include Old Trafford, of course). The coolest man in rock. Great band, gorgeous backing singers, fantastic playlist with all the Roxi favourites (some old hands were saying that this was indeed a better concert that the last time Roxi was in BCN)peppered with songs from Frantic. Brilliant.

Apparently not monsieur wallet! according to "Inside Actor" Joe Pesci's dad is gonna be doing the role play to perfection, he has been studying the man we cannot mention (for legal reasons) and he has openly stated that he will be charging us 3 quid fer a bacon sarnie, 4 quid fer a can of beer, 5 quid to look at a load of records and 30 quid a night.......but he has also stated that for the 3 lucky observers of this once in a lifetime play, they must get rather pissed before going tae bed, because legend has it that the man we cannot name, dresses up as a lady at weekends and has a habit of doing the cooking in the scud while singing "Dancing Queen" by ABBA......I kid you not!

Why are these old threads being dragged up? This one had a shelf-life of about a month over three years ago.
Funny to see mention of that Glastonbury play though. I'd forgotten all about that!

I seen em in the King's hall in Belfast and they fookin ROCKED.
However, for me, their really early fucked up stuff is MUCH better, and after that horrible fucking Hynde woman came on the scene they started to make horrid music.

I saw them backing up Franz Ferdinand in the Odyssey. They were fucking BALLS. All of their songs sounded the same, and they looked like a 'who's who' of the indie scene.
Uncle Liam could have done a better job.

LOVE SONG!!!!!!!! what a tune. I mde my hand very sore one day cos I literlly could not stop playing that bassline, it just FLOWS :D but gimme chelsea girl and life in a day and all that really ancient synth punk any time. i think Once upon a time was the last new album of their's I bothered with, tho I did get Live in the City of Light (which was apalling compared to the bootlegs I had)
I remember reading an interview with him in the NME about this time last year. He said (something along the lines of) 'I was out one night, and someone said I dance like Ian Curtis, and I said "Ian who?" '
