Barney double

Ever heard the theory the Paul McCartney died and was replaced in the Beatles line-up with a lookalike/soundalike?

I think the same happened with barney in about 1988-ish:

• Sudden ability to sing
• Turns from the ghost of hendrix into a ten thumbed noise polluter
• Puts on several pounds in weight
• Lyrics go so far downhill you'd need a cable car to get them back

Also, they should never have got rid of Ian Botham on bass.

it's still ian botham there on bass...he just grew his hair out, silly! although it's sad that caroline quentin left the (touring, at least) band (and her make-up) behind when she became more successful on television.
