Bob's yer uncle mean???

I just thought it was a title of a song by the Mondays...

but now I've heard it in a somewhat Engerlish commercial...so just what the heck does it mean...or is it just a load of wank???

Means something along the lines of 'there you go' or 'you're all set'

e.g.

If you want to hear "Turn My Way", put your "Get Ready" cd into your player, select track 3, press play, and "Bob's Yer Uncle".

As for its origins..... sorry, haven't a clue!

On a related topic, here's a (slightly old) joke:

Sex changes are really straightforward these days. A snip here, a snip there... and Bob's Yer Auntie!

No, I won't give up the day job.

I think "Bob's yer mother's brother" works well too.

in mcr the saying goes "bob's yer uncle, fanny's yer aunt" - literally as mentioned before, this means "and there you have it"
