Oh, I'm so disappointed. I tought this thread was about Fourier series, Laplace transforms, vectors, differential equations, integrals, orthogonal polynomials, parametric curves, gradient, divergence and axiomatic methods.

math sucks. i hate it. damn it to hell for almost ruining my high school experience. i even took an exacto knife to my geometry book once. hideous, hideous subject.
Just why the fuck do Americans call it Math and not Maths? Really fucking annoys me that does. Mathematics = Maths!
And as fer that Colin Powell, what's all this Coe-lynne bullshit? His name is Colin.
Americans really piss me aff sometimes.
I don't mind my math this quarter at college...
Mean, standard deviation, variance, linear regression, etc...
I like having all the calc kids laugh at me :D

I agree with you, somewhat. I mean, I love my country to death, down with anyone who tries to hurt us, but there are some damn stupid people over here. My friend saw this bumpersticker once that read: "Weapons inspections work, war doesn't."
I'd like to know what kinda ingnoramus thought that baby up. But I'd like to say that the rest of the world doesn't exactly house a bunch of saints. Stupidity, etc, is a universal thing.

I studied Electrical Engineering, some years of loads of mathematics, you know. I can't remember 90% of this stuff and I never studied axiomatic methods, I was just showing off. :D

Aye, Maths! I think the first time I ever heard it called Math was in the late eighties when we had to suffer that Beverly Hills 90213210, the only thing I remember from that programme was that one of the kids had a "Low-Life" t-shirt on.
Beverly Hills 90210- the same show that had on it an actor named Ian Zeiring pronounced "I-ann." Did you know you Scots were pronouncing it wrong all this time, Shug?
90210 was the best, man. and melrose place, too. my senior year in college i took an evening class on the holocaust and film. half the class dropped the course because we decided to switch one of the evenings to a different night, and it conflicted with melrose place. and this was at an ivy league university! stereotype -----> window.
fortunately, we did get out early on most nights (it was a 2 hour class) so i could run back to the dorm and watch the last half of melrose. thank god for small mercies. although i usually felt a bit guilty watching soap operas after coming out of that cheery class.

But maths and physics are sometimes inseparable, not always.
