So I remember reading somewhere in here about somebody meeting Terri Nunn (she credited with "vocals and bj's"), from Berlin. And I myself am guilty of mentioning Kajagoogoo...
So I thought, what other bands are there out there who left behind 1 or 2 memorable songs, only to disappear like beer at a NO fan party?
And no, I'm NOT referring to Depeche Mode...
To start things off, I'll throw in the above-mentioned bands:
Berlin: Sex (I'm a...), The Metro
Kajagoogoo: Too Shy
The Buggles...Video Killed the Radio Star Animotion.....Obsession
they were big around here at least

Obvious choice for the US crowd has to be Chumbawumba and Tubthumper; I know they weren't exactly a singles band anyway, I still like the fact that a large number of people went and bought the album based on that song (their company had thoughtfully deleted the single just as it was becoming a hit). Of course, one can find a large number of used copies in the bins, but hopefully more than a few people listened to more than that one song.
Soft Cell's "Tainted Love" is one of my all-time favorite songs, but they never followed up with any other decent songs

But The Stranglers put out a hell of a lot of work: "Golden Brown," "No More Heroes," Peaches," etc.

I think it must be a UK/US difference. Most of those bands just didn't have staying power in the U.S. I had friends who were into Chumbawumba YEARS before they had their one hit here in the U.S., but they were virtually unknown until "Tubthumper" came out. Generally, in the U.S., these bands had one or two hits and then "disappeared."

Props to Men Without Hats, they taught us that, if your friends don't want to dance, you can leave your friends behind. I believe if they don't want to dance, they're no friends of mine :D
Oh, and let's not forget Roxette. I think they had one or two hits, but still, all anyone knows them for is "Must've Been Love(but it's Over Now). 
I think I just forgot two of the biggest one-hot wonders in the US: Vanilla Ice MC Hammer
Maybe Vanilla Ice might have not been one, if he hadn't stared in that self-promoting pile of rubbish posing as afilm called "Cool as Ice."

OK, OK, I can take a hint...MAYBE I missed out on this particular "treasure." I suppose I must admit that I saw Top Gun, in a twisted, rubbernecking-at-an-accident kind of way. I have no recollection of Berlin after "Pleasure Victim," and too much recollection of Top Gun, but other people obviously remember both...

But Trevor Horn (singer of Video Killed The Radio Star) is a massive producer from the 80's, he might be a one-hit-wonder as a singer, but he sure produced more hits you can think of!! Latest one being Tatu's "All The Things She Said"

Actually, Men Without Hats can't be considered as one hit wonders, as they have a few others, like "Pop Goes The World" and "Moonbeam".. I won't count the others ;)
Since they are from Montreal, maybe it's now a known fact out of here :D
