Props to you O' Canada!
When I was a younger lad, my parents would take my brother and me on long driving trips from Texas to Yellow Stone and Glacier National Parks. On one trip to Glacier, we went over the border into the Canadian side (I can't remember what the Canadian name was). If memory serves, it was on Lake Louise. VERY COLD!
On another trip we stayed at the Prince of Whales Hotel in Alberta. Also very cool. The one thing that sticks in my mind is that you had to ask for ice with you Coke......

On a related note, the U.S. government decided to show there were no hard feelings over Canada's nonparticipation in the Iraqi conflict by ordering a "war of liberation", to begin as soon as Colin Powell can print up some doctored photos of the Canadien government swapping spit with Osama. By this time next year, everyone north of the border will be speaking American! 
Canada day?
It's MOVING day in Quebec.. (99% of the people who move in a year is done on July 1st!)
Funny thing, the federal budget for this day is spent 80% in Quebec, and mostly nobody gives a damn about this holiday.
Ours was last week (June 24th).. St-John-Baptist's day.. National holiday of Quebec.
Speaking of curling, I've never known anybody who played curling in my 30 years on this earth, why does everyone thing Canadians play curling? Let's talk about Ice Hockey...
As for Molson and Tim Hortons, I can't say much about those though :D

only ever been to BC. i actually bought my first ever joy division cassette there (substance). i remember seeing lots of hot guys who were well dressed. oh, and nice scenery, as well.

I can't tell for outside of Quebec, but here in Quebec the three sports that are the most played in summer are probably:
Soccer (what Europeans call football -- and they're right doing so!!!);
Baseball
Tennis

Vancouver is supposed to be a nice city, but as far as I know, THERE IS NO SNOW THERE!!
So basically, all indoor sports will be in Vancouver, and all the rest will be in Whisler.
The only thing that SUCKS here is that the Canadian Olympic Commity decided to go with Vancouver instead of Quebec City, who was a candidate for 2002, the corrupted ones that went to Salt Lake City...

It actually comes from "asSOCiation football", the official title of the game. The septics wanted something catchy to call it, so it was given the secondary name "soccer". It'll always be "football" to those in the know though. That padded ponces throwing/punch-up practiced in the US doesn't exactly have much foot contact with the ball, does it ?
yeah... i will never be able to figure out how they thought it would be fitting to call that game "football." thanks for the trivia, though. now i feel justified reading this board, instead of doing what it is i am supposed to be doing.

Yes Nicos...that's what we call a punt...or a field goal attempt...depending on where they are on the pitch...I meant, field...sorry...oh...and the kickoff at the beginning of each half, and each score...
