Don't know what they're worth or how easy to find these days but if anyone wants to recreate that sound and has £285 to spare there's one in a shop window in Leeds.

£285's not bad. I paid £360 for mine, price went up in a last minute bidding spree on eBay. Mine's black and the dog's bollocks when it comes to recreating those JD sounds. Cracking guitar!
