The second rule of following New Order around America is ... you do not talk about following New Order around America.

I don't think I will go to coachella. But I may try to go to this one if i can get tickets :)

Unfkcuingbelievable! Actually, the Kaiser is in Oakland, just so no one spends a lotta time looking for it in SF:laugh: Scene of my first NO show, a trip with fantastic memories. Looks like this one'll surpass that beauty. :thumb:

Just got me a good quote on a flight - will hang on a few days to see if they announce an LA show as well.....

oh man, going from l.a. to this show and then back down to coachella is going to be a bitch. but new order twice in one weekend...so worth it. :)

I'd be chuffed just managing California...

Let's hope so...from the accounts I've heard, the band were getting spat on, and the crowd was fairly aenemic. But Barney delivers this classic putdown:

"Excuse me. Still a bunch of fucking hippies, eh? Where's your flowers? They've all withered."

I'm sure this choice if it's actually confirmed and the Chems aren't just having a laugh was very deliberate...we may be in for a real treat...

i hope if presale info gets out, someone will be nice enough to post it here. i didn't see a chemical brothers email list on their site.

I need a ride from LA and back if I want to go to this gig; I'll check to see if I can get there with my dad (he always has relatives having weddings in the Bay area).

If anyone wants to give me a ride it would me most appreciated, and I'm sure I could help with the gas money. :thumb:

So much for that little secret. :nonono:

I won't be doing this one, but I noticed that the Chemicals are doing Seattle 2 days earlier.

If New Order really want to do more US dates, this might be actually a good place to start, isn't it?

I'll be happy with Chicago & New York, this will triple my lifetime times I've seen them.

Now we seriously need to find a way to secure good tickets.

It's a possiblity that I could do so, I'm probably gonna take the train down, arrive in Burbank on Thursday, and rent a car there, that's where my brother lives. Not sure if I wanna drive back down after that gig though, thought I might get a hotel, but that's just a preliminairy idea at this point. Where are you currently living now?

And Tristan needs to know if he can get in... stupid US laws forbid people under 21 to enter a place that sells alcohol... :evil4:

Viva Canada ;)

One question...if this hadn't been announced publicly...would you have made sure that local NOOLers were given a heads up?

I'll grow a beard and dye it gray if I have to. I can make myself look old very easily.

Right now I'm in the norhtern part of San Diego, but on Thursday I'll be taking a train to Moorpark and I'll be taken by a friend to his apartment in Simi Valley (Where the Reagan Library is :p). From Burbank you can take the 405 N, 118 W, pick me up in Simi, take the 23 S and then proceed to take the 101 all the way up to Oakland.

With an arena that size, it'll be all ages, especially because it's an arena and not a club or proper venue.

this is reat my 2 favriots together

Sounds good Tristan, I'll let ya know more specific details the closer the event gets, yadda yadda yadda blah blah blah.

YES!

I MUST get tickets for this one - prolly my own chance in life to see New order.

If they don't do Out of Control & Here To Stay at this gig... they'll NEVER do it.

I read somewhere that New Order and the Chemical Brothers share the same road crew. With them together for this gig and Coachella is it possible that they are also planning a joint tour of North America together.

I noticed on the Chemical Brothers website that they haven't finalized a full North American tour yet, so maybe somethings in the planning stages. A joint tour would draw tons of fans not to mention do well in promoting WFTSC in North America.

New Order and Chemical Brothers played together in a festival last tour and they didn't do anything, so I doubt they will this time, but I could be wrong.

Not entirely true...at most of the public type venues, arenas and amphitheaters, they will sell alcohol and allow all ages in...it's usually only when the gigs are in nightclubs that they will restrict ages...and even then I'm still not sure how they decide on the ages...sometimes it's 18 and up...others it's 21 and over...

Yes, nothing's more magical than that uniquely American ritual of a father taking his son out on his 21st birthday to eat at a restaurant for the first time.

I'm flying from Ontario to Oakland and back the next day for Coachella. Seems like the other New Order freaks in L.A. have the same idea! Just waiting to get ticket info before I book plane tickets.

Mwahaha!

Been served since I was 16, legal age is 18, generally allowed in from age 12 if not drinking. I love Ireland.

That's mostly what happens here.

You can get beer and drugs easier than tobacco if you are under 18... and I'm serious!

I planned on spending Friday driving down the Pacific Coast Highway on the way to Coachella. This Oakland show has thrown a spanner into the works. I can't pass it up so I'll probably drive overnight after the show in Oakland to my hotel in Palm Springs (Motel 6 Palm Springs North).

You or somebody might know the anwser to this: How long of a drive is it to Oakland from Palmsprings? Yahoo says its 7 1/2 hour drive. I was thinking of driving it, but 7 1/2 hours would be cutting it to close, since my plane doesn't land in Palm Springs until 1:00pm Because my ticket to Palm Springs is free, I cant change the flight.

From MSN Maps & Directions:

Start: Oakland, California, United States End: Palm Springs, California, United States Total Distance: 477.7 Miles Estimated Total Time: 6 hours, 49 minutes

285 miles of that is Interstate 5. Traffic on the 5 usually moves at 80-85mph so I believe I could do it in less than 6 hours.

any idea if this is sold out yet? i have a friend doing a national park service project in oakland for the next few months (don't even ask); i could kill two birds with one stone.

Don't think that tickets are on sale yet for the Oakland gig.

I don't think tickets for this one have been sold yet. And has it been *confirmed* by NO management, or is all the info we have to go by on the Chems site?

Funny fact... the person who answered me from the venue is called... GRETTON...

Good sign or not ;)

She forwarded my mail to the promotter, so I should have more information for everybody soon... hopefully before the Chemical Brothers fans.
