New Order live @ Super Bock Super Rock Festival, Lisbon (PT) 2005.05.28

It's been one of these ones that nobody besides a few seemed to know about. It's a goer. May change a few plans for some people that weekend!

It's confirmed. Actually, it's all over the media this morning!

And Nic... it's on the same night as Moby, so I'm praying on seeing Barney doing guest vocals on the baldy's Temptation cover ;)

It's confirmed that New Order will play Portugal. It'll be on saturday night, 28th of May. They will headline and play along Moby, Black Eyed Peas and The Hives. The ticket's price is 38 euros for the night and 75 euros for whom like to see the all festival (the 3 days).

I bought mine yesterday. You can buy them at the following places:

Rede de Caixas Automáticas Multibanco, Ticketline (Reserve: +351 21 003 6300), some Fnac stores (C.C. Colombo, Chiado, Cascaishopping, Almada Fórum, Norteshopping, St.ª Catarina, Gaiashopping e Fnac Services: C.C. Vasco da Gama e Atrium Saldanha), Abep, Alvalade and www.ticketline.pt and www.plateia.iol.pt.

For international buyers I think the best option is Ticketline or the portuguese ticket sites, but i'm not sure if they sent the tickets aboard. If anyone is unable to get tickets, i can try to buy them for you and send them to you.

Sadly i think that there's none in english. Anyway i think the best way to get tickets outside portugal is using Ticketline, either by phone or internet. For those using internet i've made a path that you should use to buy the tickets:

-enter www.ticketline.pt -on the left under "Categorias/Categories", choose Super Bock Super Rock -entering a new page choose "Comprar/Buy tickets...1 Dia", for 1 day (38 euros), or "Comprar/Buy tickets...3 dias" for the complete festival - 3 days (75 euros - attention that at the moment there's a promotion for buying the tickets for 65 euros!!!) -select the day. In this case 28 -in "Quantidade pretendida" put the number of tickets that you want -after that you enter in a page with instructions in english, where you can choose if you prefer to receive the tickets at your house or if you decide to get them on the 28 of May in Lisbon, at the day of the concert.

That's because the portuguese ZIP code system is formated in a "4 digits/3 digits/city name" way. For example, mine is 4505-585 SANGUEDO

Anyway, as you selected the "other countries" option, this shouldn't be a problem. Maybe there's a glitch in the system? Have you tried dotting the fields ("...." or "----")?

anyone local know expected timeframe for airport - hotel (eduoardo VII ) - venue site - 2 hours do it?

For the people who have planes to come to Super Bock Super Rock Lisbon.

I’ve spoken to Música no Coração (festival organization).And they have assured me that NO will not be the last band on stage, Moby will. The doors will open at 17h and probably NO will be playing at 21 h like Pixies last year or at 23 h.

I’ve posted a topic (in Portuguese) telling that Moby was the final act on stage, but it was in Portuguese forum.

If Bernard (or any member of the band) ever went within spitting distance of Nine Inch Nails then I would throw an Eddie Colton sized wobbler and give up on them forever.

Just got back from the gig of a lifetime (it's 6.00 AM and I left Lisbon at 2.00...). Here's the setlist:

Love vigilantes Crystal Regret Hey now what you doing (introduced by Bernard as "Road to ruin") Transmission Run wild Krafty WFTSC ("the next song is from our next album...er, our new album") Bizarre love triangle True faith She's lost control LWTUA Temptation

encore: Atmosphere Blue Monday ("We are never tired of playing this one" says Barney at the beginning...)

So no "Jetstream" then... and come to think of it I'm not too sure on the running order of the songs, but you'll surely apologise my lack of sleep!

This night for the first time New Order played Lisbon and what an event, very new ordish. They must had been sleeping until five minutes before the show, witch had a false start since Bernard missed something when he was talking to the audience and said to wait two minutes as he had going looking after something near the the drums. Then they start with Love Vigilants, slow motion.... I suppose they were trying to wake up, or not, since Bernard in the middle of the show screamed "Turn off the f***** lights", then it was Crystal, followed by Regret, while Peter was trying that a camera man leave him alone, .... "F**** off", the sound was not that good, and New Order learned that the portuguese audience was not an easy one, during the first part of the show Bernard kept fighting with his monitor phones, witch lead to an argument with Peter several times, so we all witnessed a fight beetween the two of them, and the audience loved it, since Bernard missed the entry of the song Run Wild, forcing the band to stop and start again - "oh, I'm sorry, my fault" said Bernard with a smile - so then Bernard got rid of the phones and regain his good humor, sort of..., Steve and Phil were the "silent" ones, while Peter at one point of the show during Temptation, I don't know if it was because the guy with the camera was annoying him again, jumped off the stage and joined us who stood in the front, still playing his bass. What a guy!!! From Joy Division they played Transmition, LWTUA and Atmosphere - with an awful sound - and She's Lost Control. From WFTSC they played Hey Now What You Doing, Krafty and WFTSC. Ah, one funny thing. When Bernard introduced Crystal, said "From our last record, Crystal", when intruducing WFTSC " From our next record WFTSC, sorry, our last record", confused....? And for the encore in the words of Bernard : "F***ing Blue Monday". So, I loved every second of the show and I love New Order, and the audience sung every song with them witch was a very good sensation...

I was going to Hyde Park, but System 7 are playing Glasto on the same night, know where i will be.

Just wake up now from a fantastic night, that was seen live New Order. From someone that's a fan from almost 20 years, it was a brilliant experience seen them live. To be true, sometimes it looked like they were rehearsing rather tham playing a gig. The main moment was the on stage "verbal argument" between Barnie and Hookie. Later a friend of mine that got free passes to the backstage, find out that the argument was about the inclusion or not of "She's lost control" on the set list. The first part of the concert was more guitar orientated, but from BLT things got more dance orientated, and them really got the audience and made them jump. Funny thing to put Kylie's samples on Blue Monday, that in my opinion wasn't well played. The highlights were "True Faith" (that calmed things between the two) and "Temptation", and the worst probably the keyboards failing during "Atmosphere". My friend had the set list, but said that they changed it, so I think that the songs that Mr Round gave are correct. In the end New Order were in Moby's concert till he played New Dawn Fades, and they they returned to the backstage. Barnie considers Crystal to be the past, present and future of New Order.

PS: I have some photos from the concert but I don't know how to post them. If the Administrator allows and it if is kind enough to tell me how to do it, i'll post them.

But now...i want more....i brought to the gig my SMITHS t-shirt to remember the electronic project and Manchester...

I´ve passed my hands in Hooky hair...He was sweating a lot...me and some friends showed a Joy Divison t-shirt while LOVE WILL TEAR US APART and ATMOSPHERE where played...

Hooky gave me one of his drums from the drumkit he used...

Later one of the security men gave me the set-list on paper...

I´ve waited 18 years to see them live..18 years plus 8 hours in front of the stage that day...i was lucky enough to watch all the new order members almost face to face...the one i could see more and talk was with Peter Hook...i never thought he was such a nice guy...THANKS FOR THE DRUM PETE!!!!
