Let's hope he has better luck with the electrics than he did last time he was at the Metro! That was the famous 27 pieces of equipment failing gig, which ended with an acoustic set! Sadly no tape exists.

That's a pity, don't think we even land till past 8pm.

That a lot of New Order in Chicago for a monday and a tuesday.

I'm about to add Hooky's DJ gigs in our database, it's more dates than New Order !!

Will it show up if he plays Procession or not? :evil4:

I don't think I could ever get the sets he plays anyways... plus, I don't think it would be relevant.

But it would however be nice to know what he's been doing... just the dates and places.

I was thinking about TV shows as well...

Wow. 2 DJ sets by Hooky at 2 separate, awesome clubs and a NewORDER concert, all right in my neighborhood and within 2 days of each other. This is incredible. i've never been so confident that I am going to finally, FINALLY meet the band.

I keep hearing that peter is a DJ now, but I've heard nothing about what he spins. I am totally going to this show to find out (as well as soundbar after the show) and I'm hoping Bernard and stephen are hanging out in here somewhere too, although that may be wishful thinking. Anyone know what kind of sets he spins? Who else is going???

Most people who will be in town that day I guess.

I know I'll be there with WenOrder & Kamar...

I still wonder how I will survive to 3 DJ gigs and 2 New Order shows in 4 days without losing my ears for good, but we'll see ;)

If there's a few of you, its a good laugh Mike.

Hooky's up for a bit of banter & plays what we wanna hear. The night when he DJ'd at Graham Ferguson's bar Tom Tom, was as good a night out as most NO gigs.

Say one thing about Hooky, he's predictable what he plays - opens with Captain & Tenile (not sure I've spelt that right) "Love Will Keep Us Together" vs "LWTUA" then Grace Jones usually follows with "I've Lost Control" (again, Curtis's vocals mixed in). Plays lots of New Order, including a few mixes you won't have heard, Karl Bartos, the Mondays, lots of old punk (Anarchy, Orgasm addict, etc) and always seems to roll out "Totally Addicted To Bass" too!!!

I'm going. Leaving wifey at home for Smartbar. She's going to concert with me, but going to be a pain in the neck at the after party. Anyone want to give me a ride to Naperville after Neo so I can let her go home after concert?

I'm planning on wearing a black tee that says Dry201 on the front to Smartbar if I can fit into it. I'll probably wear it to concert too, so no making fun of me!:nono:

Just got back from smartbar. Met at least one NOOLer (Drugrep) and maybe some others. Was really cool to be so close to Hooky (Phil too). Hooky was very lively, singing along and doing a bit of dancing. As far as NO-related material goes he played She's Lost Control, BLT, TF, BM, Krafty, What Do you Want from Me, Transmission, Out of Control, Anarchy in the UK, Crystal, Regret, and probably some othes I'm forgetting. Most of those were mixes I wasn't familiar with. That's all I really have to say about it right now. Can't wait for tomorrow!

Just got home, we pretty much closed the place, Hooky was awesome. One of the best times I've had in my life. He signed an autograph for everybody that wanted one and just kicked fucking ass spinning. He ran out of matches, so I gave him my lighter and he offered me a cigy in return. Just a little factoid, he was smoking Marlboro Light Menthols.

Good meeting you John. I wish more people from the forums had come up to me, that's why I wore the Dry201 shirt. Oh well, I'm wearing the same clothes to the concert tonight, so maybe more will at Greenmill or Neo.

The first meeting of the Chicago Order, led by local DJ Kamar was a success and everyone should have a proper hang over by the time the gig takes place tomorrow.

Hooky was in good form and he was joined by Phil Cunningham who was getting alot of fan attention also.

Andy Robinson and Rebecca Boulton were mingling and doing a great PR job for the band.

Was great to finally meet Mike 'wenOrder' Nguyen and Spotnick who together with Al [Fac 7] & Kamar looked after their English guests superbly.

But star prize goes to Gordie, who was still checking out a young Chicago bird's tonsils when we left the club :thumb:

Good luck for tomorrow afternoon Kamar !

Who was the young asian woman wearing the light green T-shirt? What a cutie! I noticed her getting an autograph from Hooky. If you are her, drop me an e-mail!!! :)

Didn't stay too late, so as to be in top form for the concert tonight! I can't wait!! It was very loud and smoky, or maybe I am getting too old. Besides the NO songs, i barely knew any of the songs. I recognized Song 2 from Blur, and I think there was a Nine Inch Nails tune in there, "No smoke, or drink, or drugs, just f**k". Anyway, I think that's NIN.

See you tonight!!

Very cool toon -- it's actually Tom Neville, "Just F*ck" We missed it last night, but looking forward to tonight! Any thoughts on the opening act? I've never heard of him.

Other than Green Mill, there's the Uptown Lounge, which is on the same side of the street as the Aragon -- it's usually heaving with pre- and post-concert festivities. It's closer to the Aragon than the Green Mill.

Just my plug for the local economy! (We live about four blocks from the Aragon)

About a month ago I received as a gift an original poster from this concert, from someone who was at the show. I wish I could figure out how to post the picture here! Its way cool, it says to buy your tickets at Wax Trax. If you want to see send me your email to chicago_gal_950@earthlink.net.
