Let me check it, it might turn out to be the official NOOL gathering point..

Unless you managed to find something for us, but fighting against Hooky DJing in so few time, it would be a miracle...

Although it turned out good for Kamar in Chicago...

Spot:

I just got off the phone with GBH TV.

The deal is this

Tomorrow April 27th 1pm

200 tickets available thru the GBH site...There will be a link on www.gbh.tv

$10 online $15 at the door.

This would actually alleviate me from going crazy finding a venue...I don't mind throwing a NOOL after party but im sure most ppl including myself will want to go to this.

Spot if you want to go the polls go for it

Well, it would be hard to bring people elsewhere when the Hookmeister is in town, we had the same dilemma in Chicago, fortunatly everything is going well now.

But it seems it solved the Crobar issue, we do have a Hooky DJ Set to attend.

So I believe it would be the idea to name this as the official "NOOL After Party" so where people would gather after the show.

I still may have my b-day party there on June 10th so I hope you guys can make that as well.

Anyone bringing any trees to puff on?? (e-mail me on this one)

Well eCKOh, I'm not doing 8h of road just to see Hooky DJing the same tunes for the 3rd time, so no, I won't go back to NYC in mid-june for that ;)

It's sad, but what do you want...

What is Hiro like?

Will I need to wear my special tie to get in?

Will they freak and not let my 6 mo pregnant wife in?

I would really love to see the hookster dj... never have.

Is Hiro large enough for lots of folks, or should I just forget about it?

p.s. whenabouts do you guys think hook will show up? 11, 2, 4 ???

Is this gonna be a swanky velvet rope hipster hell place?

Or maybe I should ask, will admission be granted to an awkward, kinda pudgy, middle aged, most likely sweaty, probably lit, jeans and t-shirt wearing kind of guy?

By the way, after several years lurking this site, I'm finally coming out and posting. I'm about to boil over with excitement for next Thurs. night.

i just got my ticket today (been AWOL for a few days) so anyone who doesn't have a ticket still has a chance to get in.

as for meeting at TGI fridays, i know what wenorder looks like, and after nic's personal photography exhibition i think i can point him out in a crowd.

just make sure whoever gets there first gets a big table--it always sucks sitting at the corner or scrunched in a booth! ;)

1am? Dammit I have work the next day! Sorry gang I'm going to have to bail on this, and drag my sorry butt home after the gig. I guess I should just be thankful I got one ticket to the actual show!

You have the rest of your life to work for the evil green, stay out late, party your @$$ off, and take Friday off or call in sick. We are the party people!

When I saw Hooky DJ in New York In November 03 it was in a hotel, the Tribeca Grand. And it was a proper velvet rope affair. We'd to chin Hooky himself to get access. It was in the VIP area of what was a very nice hotel but the staff were grade A arseholes. Was nice to get it right up the prick on the door who had already denied us access when we waltzed passed him with the big man. The only bigger twats were the actual people in the "VIP" area who didn't have a clue who the plump beardy guy spinning tunes was. And it was $10 for a Red Stripe. Good way to spend your 30th birthday nonetheless!

WELL DJ Hooky in New York this time around was much different from your experience. Everyone was essentially VIP. The Hiro reminded me a bit like the Hacienda when I was there in 1996 only a bit smaller. It was crowded there, although it was easy to make your way around. Peter was being a great sport signing autographs and taking pictures all while doing his DJ mixin'; he multi-tasks quite well:)
Cheers,

Brian

Sure thing, Hiro was spectacular compared to the Smart Bar... the DJ spot is opened just in front of the dance floor, there is no wall anywhere, it's very wide.

But god damn it, the place was sooooo packed, I believe the after party in Chicago was as packed as this, but you had a feeling that this one was more packed because it was only 1 floor.

But to be honest, I had my quota of clubbing that night

I'm getting old it seems ;)

P/S: Thanks for the beer MadPlanet, will post your pics very soon, probably tomorrow, I need to finish up the gallery feature on NOOL to really appreciate it.

The party was kool but since just flew back from a biz trip I was wiped out I left after an hour and went outside to see a big ass fight.

Some bouncer was kicking the shit out of this kid in a suit and then his friends tried to get in between and chased them across the street I found 2 of them laying on the ground and I think they went back for more.

Typical day in NYC
