Hyde Park Gig Meet

I will be at 'The Audley' on South Audley Street before the gig. This pub is a 5 minute walk from the entrance to the gig on Hyde Park Corner, but set back on a side street so shouldn't be taken over by gen public.

The Audley is a decent size boozer and has plenty of seats outside for summer drinking, as long as the Mancs don't bring the weather with them ;).

Closest tube station is Hyde Park Corner [Piccadilly Line].

Everyone welcome.

Anyone know how to post a multimap thingy with a big red arrow pointing to the spot ?

Tim - could you put a sticky on this ? Cheers.

I am coming down on my own from Darlington, get into London about 2.30pm, my (ex) 'billy no mates' mate is not getting down till later so I shall make an appearance at The Audley for some afternoon refreshment. I believe I (and my mate) met several of you in the pub before Finsbury Park in 2002 - there were some Brazilians there too! Looking forward to it alot.....

That would have been the "Worlds End" pish up, that was the biggest meet up we've had, we had a couple of the German Order as well as Dutch Jim, several Americans and a couple from Argentina as well as the Brazilians you mention, not forgetting the Scots, Welsh and Engerlish from all over the place. Some of the pictures are on my msn site in ma signature below

Will be there with my mate from Switzerland who is coming over especially for the gig. Wouldn't mind seeing some support bands though.

Nice to see you approve of my assessment of you Al!

Was under the impression that there was no arrival time as such. I certainly to be propping up the bar well before 4, Ness.

You are right Lun, that was just what NO Babe said! I will be out from about 1.30, but will have to take it easy on the beer so I don't get too over excited.

Click the picture site link in ma signature and you'll spot a couple of the dodgy Onliners, there are some in the Barca folder and some on one of the other New Order folders.

Anyone got any idiot proof directions for the Pub??? I'm still not all that hot on finding my way around London.

Roll on Friday

I'll be there.

Although as you know, I will be leaving at 5 minutes past as per usual to get right down the front. Has anyone got a VIP ticket? I will sell anything.........

Your hotel is on Bayswater Road. If you head east you will hit Marble Arch which is the junction with Park Lane and Oxford St which is the continuation of Bayswater Rd. Cross Park Lane to get on the same side of the road as the pub and head south to Mount St per this map which was posted earlier.

You'll know when you are at Marble Arch. There's a great big arch made of marble

I should mention at this juncture that if I do indeed attend this event, I will be seeing all the support bands (I'm very keen to catch them, as is the person I may be attending with) so will say hi in the gig itself. It's a shame none of the Zagreb Order will be present, my lass bust her ankle last month :dead: and Julijana is studying.

Me and the missus are booked into Hyde Park Towers Hotel, Inverness Crescent, just off the West end of Bayswater Road. Wouldnt mind hooking up with a few onliners for the first time, a few in the Audley sounds good. Will be staying down Thursday & Friday night so I foresee a good early/mid afternoon session in the Audley on the friday:clap:

Think I might recognise Shug from some photos but i suppose if i steer myself to a bunch of inebriated degenerates in the corner wearing new Order T shirts I won't be far off.

Think I will be wearing a factus 81/82 shirt, if anyone cares.

Will be down and around early doors,

I'm coming into town with 3 mates for some pre-match boozin.

Then the misses is coming over at around 4.

hope to meet some of you suave dudes there...

I take it from most of the posts here that the 'ardcore will be staying in the pub until the last minute? Like several others I really want to catch Rilo Kiley but ain't particularly fussed about the rest, which is a shame 'cos they'll be on first. However, if the weather is toss like at Finsbury I'll be staying in the boozer regardless. Either way, should be in the pub from about 2pm, depending on how shit Virgin trains/the WC mainline is....

Even though I have not knowingly been to an official meet previously (we stumbled across the Worlds End piss up), I have a feeling Friday is going to be a good day out! I am getting quite excited (like a kid would), can't bloody wait!!   :) Looking forward to meeting (alot) of NO fans and new friends!

I'm coming and will see you in the gig. I've borrowed someone's wife to accompany me :hat:

Have we got a time for NO kicking off yet? I don't know what time I will get away from work and may have to go straight to HP

Thats my plans rearranged- £20 a bleedin' bargain! It can snow for all I care!

I'll be there, with wifey, but I have to 'work' that day then deposit the spawn with appropriate adults; won't be there until half 8ish...

She's black and i'm white, so we'll stick out like a sore thumb if anyone wants to say hello.

I will probably stick my head round the door early-ish, 3 or 4pm maybe. Look out for a Dark Blue Fac51 t-shirt on a v.tall geezer.

It would be nice to have such a claim to fame - but sadly this is not the case...

My wife sings quite badly as well... (although she does have a crack at the odd NO song - I imagine that's something most NOOLers would kill for!)

P.S. DZ should still be adopted!

Hello! This is my debut post (yes, I'm a lurker! & a tad shy). I'm a 40-something, veteran N O fan & definitely intend making it to the pub, the (New) Audley with my missus and mates mid-afternoon tomorrow.

See you then,

Chris

should hopefully pop in around 4 to see whats happening with a friend from Bosnia, meeting my wife and his gf at the park later.

I've finally got around to checking out the web review of the Audley posted in another thread. It says the mood is "quiet and refined" and the clienele is typically old and/or American tourists.

Are we sure this is the right place for us degenerates??!!

Thought so. Anyway, might see you if you're in the Audley. I will maybe stick my head round the door earlyish 4or 5 pmish It all depends on the movements of various mates, one of whom has had his tickets lost by the Royal Mail.

Hello everyone - it's nice to be here....

I have been a regular visitor to the site over the last few months and years, but this is my first post.

I think the gig's going to be a cracker.

I'll be joining you in the Audley sometime in the afternoon and will be wearing my New Order/Railway Children Tshirt, circa the mid/late 80's, providing it still fits!

I will have a spare ticket if anyone needs a ticket.

Not quite off topic: BBC weather has just given a pretty optimistic forecast - there is a chance of heavy showers but no prolonged downpour a la Finsbury, and if the Gods are willing we might stay dry all day. Obviously, I mean "dry" in a literal, rather than euphemistic, sense.

They also predict a muggy 28 degrees, so we might need cooling down a bit anyway.

Still, I'm not sure if the quiet and refined Audley is gonna know what's hit it!!:thumb:

Will be bringing the last few remaining copies of Community and the EP if anyone wants them. Ten pounds gets you both the LP and the EP.

I am probably going to get there at about 6 depending on the weather, if its crap then I will be getting there about 8:00ish.

I am going to see New Order but I also want to see a lot of the support acts, The Bravery are always cracking live, Performance are the best support band I have seen, they sound a lot like New Order but is some how orginal, its hard to explain, and Moby should be good.

A just hope we don't get a bolt of blue during Bizzare Love Triangle.

Hello everyone!

My mate Steve and I are coming to London for our very first NO concert and are very excited.

Can we join all you lovely people at the pre-concert pub outing and then for whatever post-concert things happen afterwards?

We'll be proudly wearing our neworderonline.com t-shirts so should be easily recognisable. I'll a 6 foot tall chinese chap. And my mate is a virtually bald 5 ft 5 wee scotsman. Anyone else wearing their t shirts?

Finally, if it helps organising the meet up, we'll be on the following mobile no 07968 246 206. Thanks guys!

cheers ian yeung
