I can think of a few songs I would've preferred but, yes, suppose when you get the same tranche of numbers week in, week out, then it's always good to see something 'new' appear instead of just a random change in track order. EGG in France was a particular touch cos it only appeared to have been added after Gary and Alex had words with Barney in the press conference, and then I said something similar outside.

Never thought my mini gig tour would throw up a better experience than Barcelona, as Barca was like a NOOL holiday with a gig thrown in for good measure!!
But im afraid musically Brittany blew it away.
If getting my photo taken with Barney wasnt good enough we get EGG dedicated to us and added to that the feeling of not knowing when or indeed if we would ever see them live again it made it for an unforgettable experience.

I've managed to see New Order for the first time in my life, after having been a fan for 19 years, in Turin on July the 2nd. It took me an average croatian monthly wage, seven trains, three countries and four days. They were beautiful, just beautiful. The only problem is, it's addictive and now I want more.

Actually, I thought Nevena was in England already, otherwise I would have asked her if she would have liked to come along. I'll mail you both all the photos if you'd like them. I've been planing to write a thourough review and the whole story of my trip, but had some really big exams, but I'll probably write it this week.

my one gig this year was NYC: the crowd were crap, but i met a terrific lad from croydon and a lovely mitchell bruv lookalike (from the UK show eastenders), drank the most equilibrium-destroying long island iced teas i've ever had, enjoyed a wild and wacky taxi ride peppered with the occasional chunder break, visited some of the lower east side's lovelier housing establishments with the aforementioned two vikings, and peed in a viking's toilet.
17 gigs in just one year!?

Er, nope. I think that's been taken out of context. I was referring to the fact that New Order have done 17 gigs in one year, and no two setlists have been the same.
And they were getting better at each gig it seems.. a shame really that it's over, let's hope for something more "intimate" for next year.

Don't think I'm in a position to give overall impressions, unfortunately. I shall say though that the Audley prior to Hype Park (sic) was a cracking afternoon (pity the gig couldn't live up to it), and that the whole Brittany weekend will live with me for a very long time as the best sort of NO experience. I shall be trying to forget Werchter though!

Come on Mr Sayer, you know some of us lasses are much better than that. If JT wants to go to see NO then he can, as often as he likes (as long as he takes me along!!) Sore point. Yes, she should be over already but there always seems to be something. She is in Norway with her uncle and 2 cousins right now. She reckons she'll be flying to England straight after but as always, I'm not holding my breath. After all, she did tell me she was coming over in August 2003
Are any of the pictures of you? Email me any other pictures you have of there. My camera died on me in Hyde Park, the rewind device failed so I exposed the film so it came out in rainbow style when it was developed and printed! The upside is that it gave me an excuse to buy a nice cool digital camera :D I'm just glad that I made it to Hyde Park with my friend Vicky even though I got far too hot by mid-afternoon and drowned like a rat at the gig when it pissed down.

you got up and walked out of the cocktail bar by yourself, kind sir, and it took us about five minutes before someone finally said, 'where's mark gone to?'
and it wasn't straight to the pizza and water. it was to my former college bar where i proceeded to have another pint with gary (you know where al and his mate got off to ;) ). then off for food.
i think they just took every liquor in the bar, poured it into a vase, served it to us, then called it a 'long island iced tea.'
why are all of my posts suddenly attached to mr. giles'? i like the man, but i'm not ready for this kind of commitment.
