Hang on. When is this?
Wed is 12th? Peel Day is Thurs 13th Festival hall say Wed 12th?
Can we have confirmation?
It's the 12th at the Queen Elizabeth Hall (Festival Hall's little sister - Festival Hall is shut till next summer).
BBC say it's New Order, Fall and Super Furry Animals.
South Bank say it's just Fall and Super Furries confirmed thus far. We've all still bought tickets though - be rude not to!
Isnt that really really tiny?
who is up for ripping all the seats out and turning it into a proper gig?

Bloody Excellent. Got 2 upper stalls
Means I can travel straight up to Liverpool the next day.
So where are you lot meeting for drinks?
OldMonkey in with two tickets.
Those coming to London for the night - stick around, as Digital are playing the following night in our own Peel Day gig.
Me & the Wife will be there ![]()

From RFH website
The Concert Halls
Over 150,000 hours of music have been performed since 1951 when the Royal Festival Hall opened. Programmes range from large-scale classical orchestral concerts, films and staged performances of opera to the annual London Jazz Festival in the Royal Festival Hall. The two smaller halls, the Queen Elizabeth Hall and Purcell Room provide ideal venues for opera, chamber ensembles, solo recitals, dance, folk and cabaret events. The Royal Festival Hall seats 2,900, the Queen Elizabeth Hall 917 and the Purcell Room 370.

Festival Hall's got a good bar itself, but there's plenty of boozers along the South Bank. Nothing that decent near the Festival Hall though, bar an All Bar One, I think. Oh, and there's a couple of bars near the OXO Tower. Might even be an idea to drink Up West then just wander over Hungerford Bridge. Decisions, decisions.. .
Got any spares mike? i lost mine at glastonbury when i slipped. Which was, miraculously, the only time i slipped all weekend.

Where?
The Good Ship in Kilburn. 150 cap, should be a good night in an intimate setting and paying big respect to Peelie.

Queen Mary? Anchored just next to Waterloo Bridge, surely a floating bar is as appropriate a venue as anywhere for a Viking gathering
just to rain on the parade, with seven act annouced for this gig alone. How long are the order going to get?
Uncle Liam wrote: just to rain on the parade, with seven act annouced for this gig alone. How long are the order going to get?
An hour? It's a six-hour show! Doubt many bands will pass the half-hour mark.
When's Hooky get back from his jaunt across the US?? No time to rehearse 'Ceremony' then??
It says the radio show the night after is a six hour show. doesnt say anything about the gig.
the show runs from 630pm until 1045pm. Oh Dear. Just over four hours. with more acts to be announced. are we looking at a four song set?
Twenty five quid for four songs (and four from MES and his merry men).....but a legendary night all the same. Just think, in days to come, we know that only 917 people can have been there, and most of them are NOOLers!

'king Hell! When's the last time they played a venue with a cap of <1000.
1987 ?!

Point taken. Will be there. Pissed out of my head, as is usual on these occasions.
Got the last 2 tickets in the lower stalls!
Only heard about the gig on Radio 1 this morning. Got into work, went online at 0930 and after a faff trying to make the website work, Tickets! Magic!
Best NO pitch up! or there'll be murders!
See you monkey's at the pub then!
TF
YOU'D BETTER FUCKING BELIEVE THAT THE CORBY ORDER ARE GONNA BE IN THE HOUSE.
OVER AN HOUR OF STRESSING OUT THIS MORNING COS I'D FORGOT TO TURN MA BASTARD PHONE ON AND SUBSEQUENTLY MISSED AL;'S TEXT MESSAGE AT 7!!!
HAPPY IS NOT THE WORD AND GOOD TO SEE SO MANY OF YOU WANKERS MAKING THE EFFORT
![]()
Can't wait! Booked the afternoon off to ensure plenty of pre-gig pub time, be great see everyone together again!
For Fucks Sake.

Even smaller that the Hammerstein Ballroom, so it will be VERY intimate.
First indoor for the Order in Europe ;)

Yeah, just spotted that too. It's not like all bands are equal billing. They surely have to give New Order 45mins minimum, given their 'gravitas' when compared to the rest.
Mind, in 45mins the Fall could knock off 15 tracks. Be lucky if the Order manage 7 or 8!
I found a flight that arrives at London Stansted at 11:45. Will I be okay if I just take the train and go from there? I am assuming so, but just wanted to confirm. I'm not that familiar with the London area, having only been there twice.
I just booked 2 tickets, but at this moment I have no fookin idea how I'm gonna do this.
Might have to drive, and stay sober...AARRRGGHH
Are New Order gigs any good sober? I've never been to one sober.

Stansted Express gets you into London in 45mins. Actually, no, it's best getting off at Tottenham Hale (35mins) then getting the Victoria (tube) Line straight into the heart of London. From Stansted, you could be stood in Oxford Circus in a little over an hour. And then take a leisurely stroll through the West End then down, across the river, and to the South Bank.
Er, think your concert ticket should be the priority though!

Great. Thanks for the travelling advice. And you are certainly right about the tickets, but I had already bought them. ![]()
Given the amount of people playing it looks like half hour sets... I would love to see the fall and NO... but only tickets are right up the back now... If anyone is in the front rows and can't make it send me an email to;
spookwriter@hotmail.com
Goddamit! I was trying to take a day off NOOL then when temptation gets the better of my and I check in this pm this happens!

Do you think they're going to do anything special for the gig since it's part of John Peel Day? Like, say, bring back AOC or TPK???
Set list is already up on t'other forum corresponding thread. Call me a cynic, but unless they get some almost unprecedented rehearsing doing, that is what it will be.
Surely, though, Peelie would approve of a largely unrehearsed punky thrash through, say, "Failures"??? After all, they're playing for the well and truly converted....

I'm pretty sure nobody will mind ;)
SOLD OUT. Bag of shite. Can I be the first to post a request for anybody with a spare to drop me a line. Much appreciated.

It'll be a belter for sure :)
Never mind Julie. I'm sure there will be spares though. you still doing ACR in Newcastle next week?
Uncle Liam wrote: Never mind Julie. I'm sure there will be spares though. you still doing ACR in Newcastle next week?
I might be sorted out with tickets for the 12th (fingers crossed). I'm definitely still doing to ACR at the Cluny next week. Really looking forward to it, should be a good night. Are you coming up for it? If you are, i'll email you my mobile no so we don't miss each other.

Yep. Myself, ATR, and a few others will be there. This is at a 'to be confirmed' stage. ATR has a few things going on at the moment so that might stop us from going.
We also need to find cheap b & b's.

yeah, I received an email from Mike shortly after posting the above. We owe him big time.
I thought the chance of getting a ticket for this would be pretty much zero.
I too found out about this too late. Bollocks!!
However, regarding the legnth of the set, this may or may not be relevant: BBC teletext have the headline New Order to headline Peel tribute or something very similar. Whether this is just because of the Orders standing compared to the other artists, or they are indeed gonna have a headline legnth set, i dont know. Anyway, hope its a good night for yuz all!
fucking typical. they really should be playing somewhere far bigger. I've been at work all day and miss all of this. i know its for a good cause and blah etc., but why bother doing high profile gigs when most people can't even get in? i thought they were better than this.
are you for real mark? you think they organised this or they were invited along as a band that peely liked?
And no Gary !!
He's on a cruise the middle-aged fcuker.
That'll teach the cnut for handing my number out ![]()
Fuck, bollocks and blast.
I have that week off work as well. Sometimes, I'm not smiled on from above.

Damn, I was on a long weekend break in Rome, and have only just found out about this... ![]()
Ah well, I'll be keeping an eye out for spares on ebay... :\ohwell:
Looks like a lot of people got caught out. I'd been busy all day and didn't see the news :(
It seems a good gig too, even if NO played a shorter set. I'll be monitoring ebay as well, if the level of gouging isn't too high I'll try and get myself a ticket.
yeah i'm for real. I wonder about the choice of venue. I think anyone with a brain knows that a John Peel show with such a lineup could easily have sold out Brixton.
The town or the Accademy?
Give me a small intimate venue anyday, the smaller the better for me ![]()
Can you believe that i had the day off work yesterday and was on the net at 7.30am U.K.time.Two hours before they went on sale !
But for the first time in six months i did not enter this site first ?
To say that i am gutted is an under statement !!!
Big Bollocks and crap !!!
I know that it does not matter a fuck now ?But when was the news about it up on this site ?
I eventually got on at 8pm after hearing about it on
Radio 1.But as you all know they were sold out at this time.
What do you think the chances would be just to turn up and try to buy a ticket off the Touts outside the venue .
