Hello everyone. I'm back to sunny Brazil and terribly jetlagged. It was a wonderful trip and meeting all of you at Joshua Brooks was as memorable as the concert itself.

I've finally got my pictures from Manchester up. Beware, there are 90+ of them. I hope you enjoy it. ;)

It's always scary when I find out that some people I'm talking with are so much older than I am :evil4:

Nice ones Ricardo, I believe they should go in the vault and be published here somewhere... it's always nice to put a picture on a name.

Yeah, well don't do what this big moron did.... we NEVER get cameras into gigs back home so I have an excuse.....but i forgot to turn my flash off, so all I have is a whole pile of nicely lit heads, and some dim shadows on the stage.

Well, it could have been when 'Temptation' was on and caused certain NOOlers to do a spot of Barney dancing/Hooky bass playing. Myself included :ahem:

Glad I'm not on the photo

Thanks for the pictures Ricardo! Glad that you're home safely.

Indeed, although I must confess I'm pissed off that he pushed my own efforts down a notch in the "stupidest journey to the gig" stakes.

oddly enough, now that've seen the order, my next lifelong thing I've never done anything about is a Grand Prix, and guess where i'd REALLY like my first to be? Interlagos Sao Paulo :)

Never mind that, your gob just has "Barney Army has left the building" stamped on it.

And I thought I was the only one that ended up unjustifyably wasted :)

Classic pics; shame I had a better view - but then I did deserve it - where is the pic of the 'little' man who nearly knocked my teeth out though? An address would be appreciated too. Italian blood and all that..... well there's a bit of irish, and scot and I think there may even be bit of english somewhere..... there is a reward for information leading to this mans cardiac arrest. In the strictest confidence of course. Next door's Rotweilller loves me.....well he did, before he had the op...

Would you please do me a favour, Jack? Please tell your dad to not play in Brazil. It will spoil the fun. Engerland is the right place to watch New Order live. :p

Being photographed standing next to Shug, why shouldn't I be in bliss.

So, honest responses now. Being the same age to within a couple of months of Bernard and Peter, whose weathered best then?

BTW, if anyone in the Salford area sees anyone wearing a leather jacket like that one in the photo, its mine! It got robbed out my car in the early hours of the following morning!

You've aged well Chris, which means you cannae have taken half as much, erm, substances as Hooky and Barney :D Total nightmare about the car being done over though mate!!!

As fer that Garrity and Jorge.....you's have both been removed from ma Christmas card list, I am normal!

There ya go then! True testament to a clean living life. No drugs, no smoking, very little alcohol, even less sex. Pure bliss.

Quelle dommage..... as usual, I look like a sack of shit in that picture there. So unflattering..... my face looks even greasier than fucking Graham Norton's. :nonono:

Better put up a few of my Saint Etienne aftershow ones in a desperate attempt to redress the balance, I guess.....:skeptic:

I used to take even more pictures at concerts. There were gigs where I watched everything through a small LCD monitor. Quite stupid, really. That's why I adopted the "one song watching, one song clicking" policy.

Correction: it's actually my 2002nd. I posted my 2001st a week after that Fromage Tribute gig @ the Roadhouse back in 2002 - but it was so secretive no one noticed apart from Nic and Tim. ;)

Since then I have completely mislaid all my passwords and email addys for that old account but that's no skin off my nose.

I'm only dropping by anyway to briefly say hi to all those folks I met up with the other day and how unexpected it was to happen across you all at the JB (one of my regular [half-dozen] haunts of the all-too-distant-partying-days-of-yore along with the Lass O' Gowrie, the Salutation, the City Road Inn, the Briton's Protection and the Peveril Of The Peak. - this guy has got taste you know!) as I genuinely did not realise that the New Order bash was that night - thought it was the middle of the week - and I was only in the Josh to see if I could get myself some lunch as I felt the Lo'G was too funereal and bereft of any atmosphere....but then of course when Martin Fradley spotted me and I was equally surprised to see him (blame that damned flag!) I completely forgot about my hunger and ended up spending the rest of the afternoon there nattering to every other person I was vaguely aware of who would soon materialise later on....not to mention get gassed to death by more passive smoking than I could have imagined for years. :nonono:

So, it was really great to see a few of you nutters again -the old guard of Timbo, Big Al, Mark (Johnny G), Fradders, Hibster, the Rockster, your ever ebullient self, everyone's favourite Brazilian Ricardo, and also to meet a few other regulars whom I'd never previously spoken to at length like Chris Nash and his fine lady Trish (it was a privilege to have a long chat with both of you that evening!), Lucy, Chris Brogan (who I previously met from the BSP fraternity), Barney Army, Steve from Belfast and a few others.

I actually emailed a few of yous a few days ago (Shug, Timbo, Chris N, Rockster, Johnny G, Fradders, Chris B) but I'm not sure if those email addresses as taken from your profiles still exist. If any of you guys see this post, let me know if you got my messages okay! I'd be most grateful if you could beep us back in return!

Oh - and Tim needs to get back to me with his verdict on my Aggrokulture compilation CD - that is, if the experience hasn't left him completely deaf, traumatised and unable to ever listen to another White Stripes song for the rest of his life.....

Until next time - cheers! :)

Who's Responsible? You fuckin' are!

Great stuff Marty, loved it. Had to adjust the volume slightly, shall we say, but once the ears had seen through the uberdistortion it was full steam ahead. Didn't quite work out whether it was a Manics sample from Of Walking Abortion or just someone doing a JDB impersonation. Good work sir, and glad to see you back :thumb:

Yeah - it's indeed pilfered from the very same Manics track. In fact pretty much all of that second EP (tracks 2-5) was sampled from bits of other people's records, digitally mangled beyond recognition and then all thrown together into one big fuck off cacophonous racket - together with some real unhinged drumming and assorted sonic wreckage created by myself - deliberately mixed in that disgustingly chaotic way with the sole intention of pissing people off or freaking them out. The sheer visceral anger and murderous rage on those tracks was actually partly inspired by the events of 9/11 -which interrupted the recording of said EP and delayed its completion by seven months..... Green also has a copy of the same thing - and his initial reaction to it causing near meltdown of his speakers is the stuff of legend.
