That's an interesting idea - I'll add it to the poll.

A NOOL pub crawl - we'd have to post a couple of mobile numbers so people can catch up.

Would be chaos, but a good laugh!

:thumb:

EDIT: I can't add options :banghead:

You should have nominated it earlier, Mike!

Well im up (& Darlo posse) up for a crawl round toon. So my vote goes to all of them - that way i don't offend any boozers:eek3:

Looks like that idea's out of the window, unless we can get a moderator to sort the poll out so there's another option - ALL OF THE ABOVE!

Mike, can you sort this out for us?

Oh no, you're not a moderator are you!

I daren't start another poll, that would be chaos. I'd be dragged to the NOOL pond and drowned like a witch.

I have to go on what everyone has said, so I'll just go where I'm told; I'm used to that......

Yep, why not all vote for the boozer that is furthest from the MEN, meet in there, and then stagger our way around Manchester to the others, ending up on the floor of the venue, as usual!!? It would be a good opportunity to show Manchester some NOOL legs and Hawaiian shirts...... :thumb:

Oh, and I still think we should have at least one drink in Dry, just because it is a day all about Manchester, purely for nostalgia!

By the way, I don't mind admitting, I voted for Dry!! A good (central) starting point for the NOOL Manchester crawl....

Well, it's on the way, so we could always call there on the way to MEN?

Of course, that depends on us all being able to decide when to leave...

Not blimmin likely!

NEW START TIME!

Just got an email...

Yes, we're giving you almost two more hours for your money so that we can fit everyone in.

So doors now open at 5.30pm and the music starts straight away. The event finishes no later than 11.30pm.

New additions to the party are Bez's band Domino Bones and they've promised to bring along Shaun Ryder. We've also got the superb Nine Black Alps. And the music won't stop thanks to DJ's like Mr Scruff playing between bands.

That means in just a few hours you will see the following legends: New Order, Doves, Badly Drawn Boy, Johnny Marr & The Healers, Andy Rourke, Nine Black Alps, Stephen Fretwell, 808 State featuring MC Tunes, Bez and Domino Bones featuring Shaun Ryder, Utah Saints, Mani, Mr Scruff and more!

This is the biggest party Manchester has ever seen, there'll be collaborations, covers and a few surprises.

Musical history, making medical history.

You can still buy tickets, so we'll see you there.

Yours, Manchester v Cancer & Great Northern Productions

Voted Dry. It did the job last time. More importantly I know where it is.

I cannot believe Joshua Brookes is winning - no imagination!!!

Come on, be daring - just because it was suitable last time, doesn't mean that aren't other reasonable pubs a bit nearer!

You've got to be extremely imaginative to vote for a boozer you've NEVER been in!

I only know Dry (shite) and JB's (just okay) so don't really feel obliged to vote ... er, but went for Dry just cos it's close to the hotel.

What was that Tom Chop place you mentioned? I liked the name of that!

Yes, I don't get why people are asked to vote for something they don't have an informed opinion on, those in the know should make a choice and everyone just go along with it!!

Tom's Chop House is lovely, but ask Liam how expensive it is? It quite upset him!

I really like it though!

Corbierres was shut on saturday, mind you it was derby day.

I have 2 vouchers for 25% off food & DRINK at Via Fossa, if anyone fancies a meal there!

Where you thinking of starting drinking, pre-gig? I'll go wherever you are. Is the Wolves match a 3pm job on the Saturday, or has it been moved for the Beeb?

dry bar on oldham streets shite. oops :\peek:

Ooooh controversial!

Well, the poll ends today, and Dry is winning so far. There are a few good reasons why I recommend Dry as at least a starting point:

  1. It's big
  2. It's smack bang in the centre of Manchester
  3. Which makes it close to where most of us are staying
  4. There is no chance of bumping into Liam Gallagher or Shaun Ryder, as they are both barred!
  5. Most people (probably) know where it is, even if you've never been to Manchester

http://www.multimap.com/map/browse.cgi?pc=M11JN&cat=eat&title=Dry+Bar%2C+Manchester+-+thanks+to+itchy+city

They are the main reasons, but it was of course also once owned by New Order/Factory Records! And it is getting a bit better again, I think.

do youse think the Gig will be half empty?

loadsa seats left isn't there??

I think it could fill at the last minute. I don't think it's been advertised that well. The Bolton Evening News has only just advertised it FFS.

Maybe now, they'll sell a few hundred more tickets.

Still alright for you Kershaw, think of all empty houses you'll be able to rob:evil4:

Voted Dry although i've never been there!.In fact i've not had a night out round Manc bars since 1990:\ohwell:

But as it has the old Factory connection i'll like to try it

Right: poll's closed and Dry it is. Not a bad result, I'm sure.

If anyone thinks they'll need help on the day drop me an email and I'll send you my mobile number.

Not sure how much help I'll be, but hey: it's an offer!

Well done Big Boy  Thankful that it wasn't Joshua's!

What time is everyone getting there then??

Well, I'll be in Manc just after 9am, although (at some point), I'll have to check into the Travel Inn (near MEN Arena), which you can't do until after 2pm...

Lots of time to drink, then! :spit:

Get pissed and then check in on the way to the Arena.

I'm thinking (shock horror) of actually going to ALL of the gig this time. Yup - 1730 till 1130.

We should aim for high noon at Dry (following a nice coupld of liveners at the Gardens bar, of course.

What time are you coming out to play then? I've been invited to a party on the friday, as well as making tentative arrangements to meet up with a few NO people as well, so i might just forego sleep.
