Finally voted Dry. Haven't been in there for at least 12 years. We'll make the shithole lively again. Or, indeed, for the first time....

Voted Dry. It did the job last time. More importantly I know where it is.

I cannot believe Joshua Brookes is winning - no imagination!!!

Come on, be daring - just because it was suitable last time, doesn't mean that aren't other reasonable pubs a bit nearer!

You've got to be extremely imaginative to vote for a boozer you've NEVER been in!

I only know Dry (shite) and JB's (just okay) so don't really feel obliged to vote ... er, but went for Dry just cos it's close to the hotel.

What was that Tom Chop place you mentioned? I liked the name of that!

Yes, I don't get why people are asked to vote for something they don't have an informed opinion on, those in the know should make a choice and everyone just go along with it!!

Tom's Chop House is lovely, but ask Liam how expensive it is? It quite upset him!

I really like it though!

Corbierres was shut on saturday, mind you it was derby day.

I have 2 vouchers for 25% off food & DRINK at Via Fossa, if anyone fancies a meal there!

Where you thinking of starting drinking, pre-gig? I'll go wherever you are. Is the Wolves match a 3pm job on the Saturday, or has it been moved for the Beeb?

Not having a clue what these bars are like all I can go on is distance from M3 1AR

Bar Post code distance (Km) Dry M1 1JN 1.4 JB M1 6NG 2.5 Corbieres M2 7PB 1 Moons M3 2FN 0.8 RSVP M3 2EN 0.8 Sawyers M3 2RP 1.2 Lime M34 2HY 8

So I recon Dry, Corbieres, Moons, RSVP or Sawyers are all OK with Moons and RSVP clear winners ;-)

Cheers Mike

AARGH Bollocks, can't get Saturday off so it looks like I'll be starting in town at time of gig opening.I think I can live without Utah Saints and Stephen Fretwell, but it's whether we can get up front later on or not.Any heavy Vikings available for a scrum?

Well, the poll ends today, and Dry is winning so far. There are a few good reasons why I recommend Dry as at least a starting point:

  1. It's big
  2. It's smack bang in the centre of Manchester
  3. Which makes it close to where most of us are staying
  4. There is no chance of bumping into Liam Gallagher or Shaun Ryder, as they are both barred!
  5. Most people (probably) know where it is, even if you've never been to Manchester

http://www.multimap.com/map/browse.cgi?pc=M11JN&cat=eat&title=Dry+Bar%2C+Manchester+-+thanks+to+itchy+city

They are the main reasons, but it was of course also once owned by New Order/Factory Records! And it is getting a bit better again, I think.
