Get a B&B ya wee tightarse! only about £20 per person and theres one about two mins from the venue.
It was mentioned in on of the threads last time they played the witchwood.
And lets be honest, it is Ashton for crying out loud. If its over £20 yer being ripped off!
Once again no can do, going to Germany that weekend! Fucking 3 i havent been able to go to this year![]()

monty - what time can you get out ?
Barney Army wrote: I'd rather be seen is shorts than 'wearing' a Strat
people who remember the eighties call them 'real' instruments. [although seeing as it's a strat copy played by a fake band - I don't know if it qualifies for the moniker 'real'] in fact, your lack of familiarity with real instruments shouldn't preclude you from joining the band...

At the moment, i will spending the night before on the piss in altrincham, staying at my mates house. I see absolutely no point in trekking from alty to failsworth to come straight back out again.

This should be cracking. I had a great night last time I was at Sankeys ![]()
bearing in mind this new development... what's the consensus? we're a bit bewildered that this has happened again (hooky playing locally on the same night). on one hand, the witchwood could be a great warm up for the hacienda evening - on the other, people might decide to miss out a bus trip to ashton and go straight to the 'main event'. if this is to be the case then we should let the venue know to re:schedule because if we play it and everyone's at sankey's then the promoter won't have us back. I'm thinking that the timings of the two events mean we could work consecutively rather than concurrently together. any feelings on that one? any cunning plans? if anyone thinks this offers a conflict of interests rather than the perfect supplement let us know.... cheers
Well, i'm going to the warm up and not the main events, shall we say. Not paying £10 to watch some bloke spin records.
Uncle Liam wrote: Well, i'm going to the warm up and not the main events, shall we say. Not paying £10 to watch some bloke spin records.

I'm too old to boogey with drug fuelled kids at Sankeys anyway. ![]()

All depends what time you're on really, I guess, then what time Hooky's on.

Anybody getting a train here from Man? I'm planning all day session in Man then jumping on train.

Just one stop on the train from Victoria I seem to remember.
Uncle Liam wrote: What? Me? Event co-ordinator? thats worth at least 4 pints!

Anywhere handy for Victoria train St best.
Shambles Square could be good, outdoor beers and handy for the big wheel ![]()
We will most likely be going up Friday night, so def out on Sat early!
Sounds like a good turn out.
Right, anyone who thinks of Joshua Brooks can kiss my arse...
I was walking past Moon Under Water last night but then remembered it was a wetherspoons...
I'm quite taken by Cord Bar in the Northern Quarter, which is on a little side street opposite matt and phreds, and its only about 5 minutes walk to victoria station. Other than that, theres the Crown and Anchor. Or even the pub on victoria station itself. Which is piss easy for me i must say!

Right. Heres the conclusion i have come to.
We meet in Moon under Water at 2ish. If its nice day, we move to shambles square to drink foreign beer and shout "NU ORDAH" at the stupid fucking goths riding around on their little skateboards. If its a shit day, we stay in moon under water before its nice enough to go to a better pub without getting pissed on. Possibly Corbierres.
Then we fuck off to ashton 6/7 ish.

Can't leave the south till 5-ish so will be going straight to the venue. Save me a place - preferably near the bar.

what time are the boys on?
I have the simply wonderful privilege of seeing my family on saturday morning (first time in 8 months, quite impressed with that!) so i may now be out a bit earlier.
I'm not out now until at least 9.30. It's my Dad's 60th birthday so can't really not go - gutted! Can't even get bladdered cos i have to drive and be up early Sunday morning. Really not happy, but i'm sure i'll have a good night.
Sorry, will be working until 7pm so won't realistically get a chance of getting there in time!
So, what's the consensus on the plan of attack?
Moon Under The Water for 2pm?
You Norvern boys sure do know how to show us Suvvern lads a good time, hey? At the very least I was expecting an Oyster Bar!
Yep. I'll jump on the train at 1340 and walk down.
I presume everyone knows where it is?
And, who all is coming?
So far, i've got Me, Jarvo, Grant, Ness and Greg, Grant, Monty, Lunatic Fridge (who wont be there until late) Mr and Mrs Barney Army, Colin (if he recovers from Bird Flu in time) and i think thats it? Anyone else?
I am, but i'm gonna drive down. I'll be sober but at least i won't miss re:Order again! Besides gonna get wrecked tonight so i'll be rough!

By all accounts a good time was had by all. Wish I could rember more of it.
I remember thinking that Barney Army would make a total arse of the rat a tat's and being stunned into silence when he didn't. Now that's not something that happens a lot!
Congratulations to Barney Army for recognising me in my John Shuttleworth jacket and introducing himself. No prize though but the rat a tat tat was indeed excellent.
I forget myself. A big thank you to Re Order themselves of course. Excellent stuff and well worth seeing. 'Barney' sounded like the real thing although whether he would have worn a pair of Arsenal shorts is debateable.
Fantastic night, good turn out, great performance by the band and BA/Robbo guesting. (How can we keep track of who is who with all this Robbo/Diamond business!)
It was an eventful night with many stage invasions, Liam nicking most of the rider from the dressing room, poor Al's spectacular fall and Monty's gymnastics.
Thanks to Will for guesting those who had travelled long distance. Great to see the legs out again, even if the shorts were inappropriate Arsenal!
Slowly the reports come in as people sober up.
Good to see some usual faces - Ness, Greg, Liam, Al, BA.
Good to see some new ones too - Monty, Missy Jem - others I was too pissed to remember.
BiginOil popped his Re:Order cherry - I hope we were gentle with him.
And if anyone can remember how I ended up on my arse at one point please let me know.
What a great night... Re-Order were excellent and I've not danced on a floor that sticky for years, it took me back to the good old days of the Marquee.

Most people ended up on their arse at some point, Al dropping a pint early on didn't help the condition of the floor!
I seem to remember Liam trying to recreate the QEH gig by almost taking out Wills teeth with the mike stand ![]()
Which strongman lifted me up? My head almost cracked the ceiling ![]()
thumbs up for Sunrise, certainly got people moving, great cover.
Lunatic Fridge wrote: And if anyone can remember how I ended up on my arse at one point please let me know.
I remember!! You and Monty were belly jumping each other and i think Monty got a bit carried away and launched you on your back. It was hilarious, i think only me and JT witnessed it, everybody else was moshing!! Very funneh!
(Not as funny as Al's fall though, serves him right for bullying me) ![]()
Had a top, top night. Re:Order are amazing, Will really does sound like Barney! Wish i hadn't been sober but had a great night regardless. Good to put names to faces!
If anyone thought I was bad at the gig, should have seen it when i got home. I was slouched on the floor, talking absolute nonsense by all accounts.
The gig itself. Well, Re: Orders rider wasnt been used. And i only drunk this horrible bright orange cider which didnt agree with me. Nice to hear Sunrise get played, nice to know that constant moaning over 8 months gets me somewhere.
Ness Order wrote: ...poor Al...

I don't remember anything about this, but what I have heard makes me doubt that any protrayal of Al as an unfortunate victim is entirely appropriate!
As ever, great to read the accounts on here - puts the smile back on the face (and fills in a couple of gaps).
We behaved quite badly, didn't we ![]()
Best laugh of the night was Jem trying to stay upright in heels in the middle of a three-man fight at the front of the stage, escaping to the relative safety of the side of the room, shouting 'stop pushing me into the mosh pit' over her shoulder, then jumping straight back into the throng. Sober? My arse!

Once again a smart day, and gig. The venue needs to sort out that lighting system, I didn't seem to make much difference for a while, but got there in the end. And I'm the lighting tech!!!
