Just been looking at hotels for Blackpool, there's this hotel called the Clifton, about 3 mins walk from the venue that is 3* at only £32.25 a night through Octopus!

70 rooms, has to be worth a gander at that price even if it's not great! That price includes breakfast.

EDIT: "The hotel welcomes same-sex parties". It may well be a gay hotel! Should be good for some gay disco then!

Got me ticket this morning for Blackpool I will be going on me jack jones so would be great if i could meet up with fellow NOOL's for a drink n chat. :D

Don't worry we'll all be meeting up beforehand. The usual thing is there will be about 20 threads arguing about where to meet, then somebody will realise it's been shut down for years or won't let us in, then a mass panic until somebody decides on a venue about an hour before the gig. Just keep reading up before you go.

true. the threads will be a mess soon over the drink/meet up thing. just go for the first pub by the tower. nimps.

The good thing with Blackpool is nearly all the bars on the front are so big, they can easily cater for a huge quantity of people. Don't think we'll have any problems.

Shame they've all got stupid door policys :nono:

They won't let in a 30 year old wearing a £50 T-shirt, £100 Jeans and trainers but a spotty 17 year old in his old school trousers and shirt is more than welcome.

Hmmm, you've got a point there. Hope they don't let Chavs in. Avoid Burberry, stripey Lacoste, tracky bottoms, baseball caps halfway up your head and you might be alright.

Combining a little family break in Blackpool with this one.Taking the kids out of school for a couple of days,so a tad naughty..Mrs BRF and the juniors are gunna large it down the pleasure beach for the evening, and free me up for the ballroom gig,so tickety-boo there....I'll be the Billy-no-mates geek on his todd,in the mosh-pit if anybody fancies a chinwag :thumb:

That is up until now...chances are,an assortment of Redcar lads and lasses will get wind and come along too.

The Cliftons great I stayed there the other week for Radiohead. I think Ill be booked into a special B+B for New Order though, called me mum and dads house. Very good rates apparently

The Clifton's a smashing hotel. Slap bang in the middle of everything. Old victorian building, right on the seafront. Ask 'em if you can have a room facing the prom. Good price aswell. About the same sex parties I think it refers to hen/stag nights. A lot don't want all the hassle. Some pubs are the same.

Yes going to be largeing it for this one hope to see the usual faces and few new! So we are doing the usual pub before arguments? Adams from blackpool maybe he has some suggestions.

Hello Gregory!

I suggest the pub next to the venue. Quite spacious and seemed nice enough when i was last in it.

Just booked a ticket this morning after deliberating.New Order in Blackpool is too good a crack to miss!!!

Is that bloody 'Manchester' pub still there? (rip off, dodgy bar staff central) Not been up for a few years now.

I really like it, theres no sloped floor though, so if youre a littlun youre a bit fucked. It gets slightly warm too, I remember the heat haze above the crowd at the Roses in 89. Its got a sprung dancefloor though, so thats gonna be going like a trampoline during Ceremony. As far as pubs go, Ill be in the Blue Room, about 50 yards up from the Winter Gardens on Church street, Ive been going there for 20 odd years so why break the habit of a lifetime? You`re very welcome to join me unless you all fancy one of the every man for himself pubs down on the front Also I know that one of the support bands is from Blackpool, my mate teaches photography with one of the guys in it.

Section 25 supporting would be very apt i feel, what with location, re-appearance ...

It's great; I love my bumfluff. Though the downside of being 17 is you're too young to register yourself for an Ebay account so I can't buy myself a ticket and mummy won't let me go if I'm coming back on a train during the night; never mind the fact I've got school the next day!

What time do such gigs normally finish and would I be able to get out by 11pm for the 2314 last train home?

I'd give yerself about at least 4 weeks. They are ten-a-penny in Blackpool, you can get a cheap one for about £15 a night. But the Blackpool Illuminations will be on between August 31st till October 31st,so expect a sudden influx nearer the time.
