The Vines used to be a good pub near Lime Street station,a while back when it used to be my copping(READNon-Copping)joint* .Next door to that hotel which got it's own reality series filmed around it.

(*Lads don't read too much into that.Years ago,if I fell into a bucket of tits,I'd be the one sucking my thumb!)

Yeah J.A.K, time to sort a venue.

Make sure you pick somewhere big enough for the big NOOL fight :evil4:

go the blob shop.

i won't be. but some of you lot will suit it.

i'm not arsed about huge meetups. harder to get served at the bar with a mad gang in the ale house. i'm staying local, then jumping a cab up with an hour to go before kick-off.

I'm not being funny, but i'm not taking someone who is coming over from Florida to a scouse wetherspoons. Unless, of course she wants to... Christ knows why she would mind.

What proper pubs do you recommend? Preferably ones which arent full of scallies.

The Hanover Hotel. Round the corner from Lime Street, opposite a taxi rank and the fast food places. Hold's plenty as well.

This is my first post. Thought I would chip in as a local (I live across the Mersey, as in Ferry across) to recommend a drinking hole.

A trouble free, bohemian place is the Lemon Lounge (used to be called the Brewery) up the road from Lime Street and a short walk down the road to the gig. Just past the bombed out church on Berry Street.

Just got tickets myself night before last.

what's the pint cost??

we've been watching the weekend world cup matches at the River Bar right next to the old tunnel. but its fuckin about £2.80 for a pint. I'm gonna be skint before this gig, if England carry on in the World Cup any longer.

J.A.K.,

not sure of the cost of a pint because usually too far gone to comprehend by the time I get there on a weekend night out. students go so can't be that expensive.

i'd be interested to meet up with one or two fellow order brethren to be in company of those who can appreciate a conversation, say about 1963 and what this says about sumner's sexuality. (of course sumner is asexual as he is God).

the phil is a bit cramped. the everyman, down the road from the phil is better.

would someone announce where one of your cliques are going so I can infiltrate.

Of course, if England make it to the semi-finals (and then lose the semi on penalties!), then that particular Saturday will be the 3rd-place playoff... Pubs will be packed! :smoking:

Depends what time the 3rd place is being played. If England are on then they may be packed. Can't see them being that busy otherwise.

So, where's the pre-Gig meet-up? Some of the German Order want to join.

Rest assured, we won't mention the World Cup :baby:

Well, no possibility of England playing now - so how about a final decision on venue for both pre and post match beers? I'm happy wherever. Would be good to meet up with familiar faces and any new ones too :)

Oh, and somewhere not too chavvy. I've got to haul the ex along with me and she doesn't like me getting into fights...

Heard last night that Danny might not be joining us now due to a knee injury?! That would be a shame.

Did he get kicked by an irate Argentinian?! :uhoh:

Don't know about Danny yet. But if there is any chance, and his leg doesn't have to be amputated, he will come.

I check into the Hanover at about 2.00-2.30, so if the meetup is at another venue please post directions for a visiting Manc:D Also will a taxi be needed from Lime st or will a leisurely stroll/pub crawl suffice ?

Anyone up for a game of nool pool, I'm shit but entertaining, will stretch to 50p a game, winner stays on,, new rules yadda yadda yadda .......

evenin, DM,glad to be back, will I need a safety awareness course and a showing around the site with a nice lady from Personnel/human resources ? Has someone had the decorators in ? Also I've got me references from the last place, as you can imagine they're okay but a bit shabby, left 'em in me Hawaiin boiler suit and they got washed.

shall I put the kettle one whilst you sort out the flyin teapot ?

If your plane lands at Lime Street a leisurely stroll is all you need unless you're bringing a lot of baggage. Walk out the main entrance, cross over the road but bear left towards Wetherspoons. Carry on left past Wetherspoons then cross over just past the Blob Shop. A sharp right and head over to Central Station and keep walking, past the station, Bold Street and the Hanover is two blocks ahead.

Not too sure if the Clash are on the jukey though.

Thanks for the directions mi amigo, hopefully Digi can put them into his moby as due to Shuglets predicted late show ( round dodgin in extremis ! )DigiMike will be on air traffic control duties , ROCKET-BALDY has had his table tennis bats sprayed red so he can be wavybatfella..

No Clash in the 'pool , the city that was the last place Strummer played with the Mescalaro's ??? Dont worry me an Shuglet will probably have a warble, that said the Ordah's last Appollo gig had a very large Clash contingent, why I dont know , may have been Goldblade fans ... I digress, scouse djook boxes are usually pretty good in my experience, mind you I usually hit the dives with ourkid.

Truefact 1. Alun Williamson told ourkid he could could make him a star, we thought Alun was some old queen on the flirt.... then we saw him on the Beatles documentary. Our original belief remained in place, nice fella though. Not just some chancer with a Beatles tale for the tourists.

Just the waistline at the moment, the other baggage is a possible now that Inger-Land have spoiled his plans, we may see some ticket tout gettin his hat nailed on, ourkid is not one for full payments and certainly the thought of someone actively trying to wipe his eye vis-a-vis ticket price has brought about some very interesting exchanges:D

A no-show means I will be needing someone to partner me in a half pissed stage invasion, one day this little fooker is gonna clear the orchestra pit ....oh yes !

best wishes to you and yours JT:thumb:
