Just wondering what is the longest you've had that ringing in your ears after a gig?
I went on monday night and still have it! Can't think I've ever had it the morning after really let alone 36 hours later. And I didn't think it was that loud...

After a gig, about 2 days, that would be the Orb in Dublin.
Ever? Prepare for the more double entendres than you ever read. In Chicago, our bone player stuck the bell of his bone in my ear and gave it full bananas...ears rang for 2 weeks, left lear has never been 100% since.
I belive if you have ringing for more than 2 or 3 days you;ve done proper harm, I think it's caused by the receptor hairs in your ear canal getting flatted like reeds by a river in spate, but the sheer force of sound. They can stiffen to protect themselves against loud noises, but it's a temprorary measure and can only protect for a minute or so, hence that have no defence against New Order.

My ears rang for about 16 hours btw
This is no good!! How about working on a ENT (ears nose and throat) dealing with some deaf people and i couldnt even hear them myself - communication was a problem - and ouch a headache!!
