Corby being the gateway to the north that it is... Re:Order have 3 NW dates for which you might want to gird your loins and dress your hairs:

Sat Sept 8th - The Soundhouse, Bolton Sat Sept 29th - Hotel California, Tranmere pulled Sat Oct 27th - The Witchwood, Ashton-u-lyne pulled

Because of this glut of gigs, the re:arranged date at the New Roscoe in Leeds with Joy Re:vision has been put back 'til 2008

Once again, the venue has changed hands and failed to pass on the pre:arranged dates to the new promoter/owner. This is what happened in february when that gig was doublebooked and we then sorted the october date (obviously before we had the chance to check the arcade fire tour schedule...hmmm). I doubt the venue or this promoter will still be around in april 08 either. apologies to all those who'd hoped to come and had even budgeted their weekend around this and the monaco do. we appreciate all the efforts and goodwill thrown in our direction and it annoys us that an event beyond our control puts paid to that.the chaps of order

Few big 'high street' boozers going up the main schlep towards Harpenden or lots of little old skool pubs closer to the Cathedral.

Google the 'Cross Keys'. That's as good a locale as any - right at the bottom of the High Street and not too far from the mainline station. It might be a Wetherspoons boozer though, not sure, but it's perfectly placed as a base camp to launch an assault elsewhere.

Given that the venue is right next to the train Station I wouldn't bother going much further than that

It's a long walk up Victoria St to the High St and no matter how posh St Albans thinks it is, the High St on a Saturday night is your typical packed chain bars with arsehole bouncers and even bigger arsehole pissed 20 year old mobs. The football and rugby won't make it any more plesent up there.

Robin Hood on Victoria St might not be a bad idea although I don't think I've ever being in there. Looks like a big gaff and they do that weird bitter that some of you drink :spit: And will probably show the football.

Any of the High St area pubs that have the football on at 3pm may well shut at the final whistle and open up again an hour later.

the cross keys is fucking horrible. st albans is riddled with good pubs, don't waste yer time in a shithole. no idea what constitutes a decent viking drinking den so i wouldn't like to recommend a venue, but you can't move three feet without falling into a boozer so you shouldn't have any trouble. maybe try the boot in the market place for starters, just round the corner from the cross keys. (any more than three of you and you'll take the whole place over...)

say hello to the old home town from me. i'd be there myself but i have a do in t'smoke.

It's a long walk up Victoria St to the High St and no matter how posh St Albans thinks it is, the High St on a Saturday night is your typical packed chain bars with arsehole bouncers and even bigger arsehole pissed 20 year old mobs. The football and rugby won't make it any more plesent up there.

you're not wrong. there's a few pubs on victoria street anyway, one or two not too shabby at all.

the horn's one of my favourite places to drink in town anyway. good jukebox, or there used to be at any rate. if i was going i'd just settle in there and get cracking whenever i arrived...

Right.. going to trot up there about six-ish after the footie, with one or two other NOOLers.

Anyone decided on a pub yet?

I think the venue only charges entry to the pub after 8. I don't know if that means that if you're there from 6 you get in for free but seeing as it's the nearest pub to the station it might not be a bad place to start.

Welll.... where do i start?

After comically getting a number of shorts in bottle form and getting the bus to St Albans avec madame Bonz, and downing them in front of a number of bewildered children.

A red hot atmosphere guaranteed, after newly pasting the cheese surrendering monkeys at rugby, Reorder took the stage to a patriotic English fanfare.

A Joy Division set ensued, spattered with blood from Hacienda must be rebuilt - nose after an anti-Joy Division incident. After much blood and paper tissues and amusing bouncer related issues. We ermm jumped about a lot, pictures and videos to follow.

Damn, wish I'd known cuz I would've gone  - just goes to show I should definitely check Ceremony more often.

I'm up for one of this week's Underworld dates but they're all (typically) sold out. I might wander along to the pre-match drinks and see if I can nab a ticket off a tout.

Anyone with a spare, lemme know :thumb:

I'm going to put a Youtube up, and you might actually see it all happen.

Edit: I'm not apparently going to put a You Tube up, cos You Tube limits uploads to 100mb.

Sound quality was shite anyway. I blame it on the band :evil4:
