Why not?
Royser should be in Italy by then I think so we can nip for his for a brew before we go home.

Well, unless you like going round historic buildings (and there's a LOT of them in Rome!), or you want to look round the Vatican (queueing for a couple of hours), there's lots of bars/restaurants around! :)
Just beware of the pickpockets...

When in Rome.... .
... shag an Italian!!
(One of my favourite phrases EVER!) ![]()
Sarah and I discussed this last night. There's never anything to do in January and we've both always wanted to go to Rome, so we are now in.
Anybody looked at accommodation yet?

As you cant fly there from the Isle of Man, I wont be going. I do expect to have a new passport by then.
I'd quite like to go to Rome. I certainly wouldnt go to this gig though. But dicking around Rome for a weekend, drinking a lot, eating fine cuisine and have a snoop around, I could do that.

Can you fly anywhere from the Isle Of Man (apart from England/Ireland/Scotland)? :p
Edit: Just checked the Isle Of Man airport website - just the above as thought!

Sorry Al, we don't need your permission.
But don't worry we'll stay in a different hotel and drink in different bars but we WILL be at the gig.
Don't think any flights/hotels have been booked yet - at the moment it's just a feeler in the air type thing? :)
I'm definitely going - January's a crap month, and Rome's a great place to be! ![]()

I wasn't planning on doing so, as there was due to be a Graham Massey "festival" running from Wednesday to Saturday in London... However, this has now been postponed until later on in the year...
So, hmmm... :)

Who can you mean?
Big Clive wrote: Who can you mean?
I don't know. I have no idea what I'm talking about.
What might be best is if you stick up photos (lots) of any female Puressence fans you might know, with Scottish accents, who were anywhere near Krakow last weekend.
And then I can decide if they were the one I was talking about!

Didn't you get any photos of her? I was relying on you to get one with your sooperdooper zoom.
All I got was the side of her head. :(

Ah, the one in the cocktail bar?
Doh - forgive me, I've still got that damn cough/cold...
I don't think I did get a sly photo - I'll double check! ![]()

Was she working as a waitress?
LMAO at Darren - she should have been! :p
I think the only decent picture I've got of her is in the background whilst Biginoil counts out the entire national debt of Outer Mongalia to pay the biggest bar bill in history! ![]()

Not sure if anyone has sorted out a hotel yet?
I might be be able to get us a discount at a hotel in Rome. I am not promising anything but if I can have numbers and maximum budget I can do some digging?
Bloody hell! Just been pricing it up on EasyJet from Gatwick. Leave Friday come back Monday evening £58 or Leave Saturday morning come back Monday evening £43. Cheapest digs I've seen so far is £42 a night. How much are you lot paying for digs, and how much spending money do you think you'd go through in a weekend there?

Damn good question (hotel) - don't think anybody's done anything about hotels yet...?

For all those going to Rome on on the 23rd.......Lazio are playing at home against Cagliari on the 25th and kick off is at 2pm.
We're all going and we can all get the tickets from the club shop or I can book them before online. As I said, you lot decide and let me know.

According to this page the gig's off, just gonna be another snooze-worthy DJ set. http://www.goth.it/event/31366
It is, we found out after we'd booked our flights. Luckily, Gabrielle's Wish are playing in Rome on the Friday and it's a Joy Division night afterwards ![]()
Michael Monkhouse wrote: According to this page the gig's off, just gonna be another snooze-worthy DJ set. http://www.goth.it/event/31366
Eh? There's no DJ set is there? I thought the whole thing was cancelled.
Either way, I feel dirty looking at a website called www.goth.it! ![]()
And Jemma, we're not really going to Gab's Wish, are we? Thought that was just an (admittedly, quite shit) 'in-joke' on Facebook! ![]()
... you're right, not even a DJ set: the Italian reads 'Hook's only given AVAILABILITY for a DJ-set'. I'm pretty pissed off as I never saw the Hookster live - the closest I ever got to a NO gig was Electronic in 1991! If you speak Italian there's some forum discussion here: http://freeforumzone.leonardo.it/discussione.aspx?idd=8064585&a=1

I wouldn't worry about it too much, because by the time the plane arrives in Rome, and we get to the hotel, Gabs Wish will have probably been and gone! :p

I saw you three girls had joined that 'Concerto' group so thought, Yeah, I'll join that too, it'll be a larf.
I had no intention of going.
And, thankfully my plane doesn't get in on time.
Phew.
That Darren's a very nice lad though.
Hello, I am Lorenzo and I live in Rome. I am a big fan of JD/NO and I wanted to let you know that the Peter Hook/Section25 gig in Rome has been cancelled because, at the opposite of what Section 25 manager initially told to Piper Club, Peter Hook want to do only a DJ set. This is the reason of cancellation. Just check on the Piper Club website. Cheers, Lorenzo

It's very unprofessional hearing something and printing a poster about it without having a confirmation, isn't it?
Hope you guys have fun but it may be a bit "restricted" with Rome's new drinking laws which just took effect
Under new rules that took effect Friday, no alcohol "to go" can be sold in bars, restaurants, supermarkets or other outlets after 9 p.m.
Starting at 2 a.m., the sale of alcohol is banned inside bars and restaurants, although discos are exempt.
