Apparently, the Print Factory is an old warehouse (used to be News International's factory)...
This is what somebody wrote about it:
"The Print Factory's in Kinning Park, as the previous poster said. Watch yourself when you're in that area. It's well dodgy - gets worse the closer to the motorway you get and the venue in question overlooks the motorway. I used to live round there and didn't walk about myself after dark. It's also very common for parked cars to get smashed in round there so take the underground and use the well lit streets rather than the most direct ones! There's a huge carpark at Shields Road if you must drive."

Where the fuck is The Printworks in Glasgow? Never heard of it. I remember going to see 808 State, MC Tunes, K Klass and Sasha at the Barras in the summer of 1990, couple of weeks after the Stone Roses big show on Glasgow Green. One of the best gigs of my youth.
EDIT: Just read Nick King's post about where The Printowrks is. 10 mins from my front door but I've never heard of gigs or anything going on there. Had to laugh at the poster Nick quoted describing Kinning Park as 'well dodgy'. Is it fuck. The dodgiest thing about this is that there's been no mention of it in the local media and the two people I've just asked about it who should know something have heard nothing. Who's the promoter?
Good stuff (dodgy area) - all areas are inherently dodgy wherever you live (especially if News International used to own the venue! Apparently, the Fratellis are playing there a week later?) :)

Topping the bill at The Print Factory are “Madchester personified”, legendary act The Happy Mondays. Along with the Stone Roses, the Mondays were THE seminal Manchester act and were instrumental, along with New Order, in bridging the gap between dance and rock music. When the NME reviewed their second album ‘Bummed’, they said “the world has never heard anything like this”, but it was ‘Pills, Thrills and Bellyaches’, that led to them selling out stadiums across the world.
We are also proud to announce rare UK DJ set from Darren Emerson, ex member of electronic giants Underworld who’s ‘dubnobasswithmyheadman’ album attracted critical acclaim the world over the world over before finding more commercial success with their follow-up ‘Second Toughest In the Infants’. Darren has remained one of the most cutting edge DJ’s and producers with his work with Sasha on “Scorchio”, his own label “Underwater” and his present, dancefloor destroying single, “Crashjack” on Global Underground and we’re delighted to have him close the event after the Happy Mondays.

An afternoon of experimental alchemy is in store from A Certain Ratio, one of Factory Record’s main and longest serving outfits, whose punk, funk, electro disco stylings are name checked as influences by present day heroes such as LCD Soundsystem and the one and only New Order producer and DJ’ing legend Arthur Baker is set to kick off proceedings with his anarchic “rip it up or rip it off” obsession for making you dance! Arthur Baker is most famous for his production work on Afrika Bambaata’s ‘Planet Rock’, New Order’s ‘Blue Monday’ and Kraftwerk’s ‘Trans Euro Express’. Not a bad CV!
The old News International building in Glasgow’s South Side will provide an atmospheric and spiritually in-keeping backdrop for this very special re-visit of a magical era in the UK music scene. Hmmmm. Yeah, I know Traxx. And they seem to be the promoters. They're pretty small-time to be honest, didn't even realise they were still about. Used to put on a lot of 500-1000 capacity events at The Arches, almost all DJ led ents though, never live music. Ran a poorly attended monthly event called 'Traxx' at various small venues around town, where they Djd also. They've done nothing close to the scale of what's being talked about here.
I'd be a bit cautious about booking any flights for this until more info comes out (still zero mention of it in any of the local media). Something don't smell quite right....
If it does come off though you've got James playing the SECC the night before so you could get 'Madchestered' oot yer nut that weekend in Glasgow.

What a great summer for gigs that was with the Roses and 808 in June then, if my memory serves me well, Adamski and Northside in July and August. All amazing gigs. Glasgow was Europen City of Culture that year also so all the clubs were open til 5AM. I'd just left school and embraced the madness completely! Party'd my arse off. Best summer of my life bar none.

Read today that the 'guerilla venue' this is taking place in gets bulldozed in January to make way for flats. I've got visions of it being like that awful place Kraftwerk played in Krakow only even colder. At least there'll deffo be a bar this time. No doubt understaffed and selling warm cans of some unheard of brand at £4 a go.

I really really wouldn't be surprised if that's the case. As I mentioned in my 'Why Promoters Should Talk To Each Other' thread, on the same night you've got Primal Scream at the 5000 capacity SECC and an almost sold-out Complete Stone Roses gig at the Aacdemy (2500 capacity).
I would be surprised if this Hacienda thing has sold more than a few hundred tickets. Three gigs targetting the same crowd in a city the size of Glasgow aint ever gonna work.

Cheeky fuckers! Do they think we button up the back? DF (the promoters) have decided to cut their losses due to a monumental fuck up on their part by putting the gig on on that particular night with so much other competition in the city.
If they'd have spoken to Regular Music they'd have known about the Primals gig (anounced after FAC 51 but on the slate MONTHS before it) and if they'd paid attention they'd have seen that Colours were doing TWO dates with the Complete SR on Fri and Sat.
And now that loads of folk are out of pocket for travel etc they blame it on that old 'licensing issues' chestnut. Licensing my spotty arse!

I was assured that as soon as they hear about any changes, they will notify all customers and they will be given a full refund if the new dates are not suitable.

I'm out I'm afraid, I just can't justify the expense. We still have the Manchester one on the 28th remember.
Hmmm... Still tempted, but travel arrangements have increased significantly for that weekend (post-Christmas travel, etc)...
Cheapest flights are EasyJet at 140 quid return... RyanAir (to Prestwick) is 200 quid... 
(BMI is 400 quid!)
Train remains the only viable option, but train works over that weekend mean the only option is Kings Cross to Edinburgh, then change to Glasgow Central - Euston line is f***ed that weekend...
(Oh, and even those prices are verging on the ridiculous)

I seem to remember for the original date at the Print Factory, 808 State were in an early evening slot and the Happy Mondays were headlining. If 808 State are still in the pre-headline slot then I assume they won't be going on til 10ish? Or will they finally be moved to their rightful place as headliners? :p
