In which case, can I be the first to start the rumour that the only song they will play together is world in motion with ian brown stepping into john barnes' indecently tight shorts.

I'll be in the isle of wight - just about as far away as a person can be without leaving the country

Well, we are looking around on Craigslist for a cheap used sailboat---don't know how it will hold up against shark collisions, though.

Rick--count us in on one of the rooms! I'm hoping airfare is just a fluke right now & it will come back down into the three figures in a few weeks. Got a fcuking e saver alert for MCR $288 round trip, to be used by March 16th...thanks for nothing, travelocity.

Picadilly sounds good Jemima. There's a few of us stopping at the P'illy Gardens Hotel so that would work.

There's the boozer just inside the station, think it's upstairs?

Well it didn't rain and BL were brilliant, they got a huge crowd watching and went down a storm.

Ian Brown was shite - loads of people left before the end!

Thanks to the poor queuing system only got to see the last 2 tracks by Bad Lieutenant - Temptation and Love will tear us apart. Both were good and the crowd seemed to enjoy.

Unkle didn't translate to the live arena - the organisers should have had BL just before IB and the place would have been rocking.

As usual at these kind of things people were expecting loads of Roses songs - but that's not the way IB operates. He payed a decent set of his own stuff and the encore was brilliant - Fools Gold, Stellify and Just Like You and if you were near the front the crowd were going mad.

Awesome day and night, started off at the Kro and met some familiar faces, Jemma, Angela, Nick, Monty and others [sorry im slightly hungover], some new [to me] faces as well Rosie and Julie, Ian, 2 vikings I forgot the name of [sorry] then caught the bus to the fields the queueing system was crap it must have took us about 20mins to walk around all those stupid fences, then I needed a piss just as they started playing Ceremony, noooo. Norbert, top man, too bad he missed most of the set [queueing system]

Managed to get back for most of the set though, crowd went absolutely crazy and a lot of people really got into it, got soaked in what I hope was beer, the sound was pretty quiet for my liking [its a festival for fook sake] but was a top gig.

Ian Brown was pretty good though I nearly fell asleep for the numbers I didnt know, he played Fools Gold though which was ace.

Monty & I then got to Sound Control after trying and failing to blag him on the guest list but we still managed to meet Bernard Sumner and see his DJ set which had a few nice surprises like a mix of "Until The End Of Time" from Electronic and some old Hacienda tunes. Gave him a flyer for my single [hey its gotta be done].

Met Barneys wife Sarah as well, who was nice and at the end of the night met Phil again and Jake for the first time, really nice guy.

everyoneverywhere wrote: the queueing system was crap it must have took us about 20mins to walk around all those stupid fences,

That was ridiculous, I could have conquered Everest in the time it took to negotiate those bleedin' fences.

I missed most bands but managed to see Detroit Social Club (which cost me The Whip)and Bad Lieutenant who I thought put in a cracking performance. I got pushed over in the mosh pit and thought I was going to get trampled. I looked like a drowned rat at the end of their set. Agreed they should have been second on the bill (or top). Saw ten mins of Unkle and decided to go home, didn't even see Ian Brown. I'm still wondering what my reasoning behind that was. I think I peaked too early.

Also somehow managed to trap my little finger in the hinge of a portaloo!! It's all cut and I've lost the feeling in it. Sign of a good day out I suppose. I'm scared of getting in the shower in case one of my limbs falls off.

Cracking turnout from The Vikings, it was bloody ace to see you all again! Al, Ness, Ess, Boydie, Boaty Roy, Chris, Dave Clark, Leggy, Canada, Nick, Gregor, Jert, Don, Rosie, Julie, Monty, Nobby, Matthias, Bernd, Everyoneeverywhere, Karlos. Forgive me if I've forgotten anybody I can barely remember my own name today.

Oh and COME ON ENGLAND!!!

Oh and another mention to Bernard the lovely Scot fella who has a Bad Lieutenant tattoo and Bernard Sumner's signature tattoo'd on his arm!

Norbert was there from the start - I've got the pictures to prove it!

Really enjoyed the gig, thought the band were on top form. Loved Barney's comments about the Hac tent, and Morrissey! Bang on as ever. Generally the banter was good. Tom seems to have come out of his shell a bit - good to see. Steve on magnificent form as ever. Thought the sound balance could have been a bit better at times, but that's outdoor gigs for ya. Liddle did the green/blue/grey bit again, but I didn't have my camera ready. At least I didn't lose it this time.

Caught ACR in the Hacienda Dance Tent (c), then went for a curry. Didn't seem to be any point hanging around to confirm that Brown still can't sing. Was great to see those who I did run into, sorry to have missed the rest.

Bit of a disjointed day all round. Only watched the first half of Bad Lootenant, saw ACR totally kill the atmosphere in the Hac tent then wandered off after about two songs. Didn't watch any of UNKLE and Ian Brown was just background muzak. Still, had a good day nonetheless though seemed to spend far too much time queuing at beer tents.

Can't believe how easily we lost people. Didn't see half the folk from the pub again anywhere in the festival. Wasted opportunity to have a good catch-up with Boaty (next time, mate) and only saw the likes of Col, Jake and Wayne in passing snippets. Wouldn't have even had chance to chat properly to Alex and the German Order if we'd not run into them in town after. And by that time decent conversation was well beyond any of us.

Same again next year, folks?

For real that he was in the crowd? Yeah, though he was walking away from the stage when I saw him, which was about half way through BL's set. And put it this way, he wasn't the smiley looking Hooky that we all know from recent times!

Him & Twinny were next to me down at the front in matching Y3's, just after the little dig Barney had, were he thanked Andy & Rebecca for not 'jumping ship'. He didn't look too impressed but then the Hooky we all know & love appeared when people were hassling him for pictures.

Shine Like The Sun probably. The one with the melodica intro?

Disappointed I missed Friday not just for the line-up but the quite clearly huge and pissed up Viking contingent marauding around the area  Unfortunately being skint and new job held me back. Interesting to hear Hooky was by the mixing desk during Bad Loot... Barney's quips were clearly for his benefit and they both knew they'd be in the vicinity that evening  I do feel some sympathy for the Hookster in this instance as he was basically watching the majority of his old band; the same people, crew... everything minus him... and that must have been bloody strange even if he knew it was coming.

So no reunion any time soon then? :uhoh:

Fantastic night. Was sweating through the queuing system as thought I was gonna miss BL, ended up only missing the start of 'This is Home'. Stayed to the the right of stage and kept sending hubby for beers, sun was in my eyes for most of gig but hey at least it wasn't rain!

Watched Hooky DJ set which was good, queued for beers, shambolic system, still managed to get rather intoxicated though!

Everyone came on earlier than advertised, Ian Brown was Ian Brown, enjoyed as I was drunk as a monkey and was dancing like a monkey...me not Ian!

Regrets....hubby agreed to go to the aftershow party but as everything had run earlier than anticapated, I was bladdered and tired and so I stoopidly decided to call it quits and race for the last train home!!! Doh!

Crazyh's post above was deleted...ah wait I see an earlier one CH made...so Barney made a reference to Rebecca and Andy for not jumping ship? Anything else?

I am curious, what were Barney's comments?

Also, wish BL had played Poisonous Intent, I think it's one of their best songs, but as it's a longer track, I guess they only play it when they headline their own show.
