Opening with Incubation, I would love to see some Bookies odds on that!

Is this what we think they will play? Because i posted that elsewhere... but what I would like them to play? ok...

Open with...... Crystal. Everyones rocking and anticipating a lesser number, but suddenly....REGRET kicks in. Next up... Touched By The Hand Of God and everyone is really into it. Just when they thought it was brilliant out of nowhere comes the ACID of FINE TIME... fooking hell where did that come from?!?!?! More familiar territory follows with TRUE FAITH, then a moment of reflection with RUINED IN A DAY. The crowd are going mad again for THE PERFECT KISS, the full 10 minute epic version too followed by BIZARRE LOVE TRIANGLE before we are treated to LOVE WILL TEAR US APART. Going back to New Order after a brief Joy Division flirtation we go back in style with CONFUSION before the set ends with the best version of TEMPTATION they have ever performed!!!!!!!!

11 tracks? Surely this is the New Order of old, but they manage to come back for an encore of AGE OF CONSENT, WAITING FOR THE SIRENS CALL and set-closer BLUE MONDAY - much to Bernard's loathing - though he plays along.

As Al put it I reckon proceedings won't be too dissimilar to what they trotted out in 2005/6 but suspect at least one or two curveballs e.g. "bass heavy" numbers or unplayed oldies thrown in (possibly to antagonise Hooky from a distance :uhoh: ) plus they must know without him the fans will be expecting a mostly bass lite affair of predictability so I'd be surprised if they don't attempt to subvert that expectation even a little bit.

Touched By The Hand Of God a'la Peel Session 98 is my only real request (surely doable?!) otherwise I'll be going with the flow, not too fussed and there for the craic. It'll be good to hear those songs again even though the band aren't quite complete. Sincerely hope the JD numbers are kept to a minimum, The Light are handling them more than adequately these days.

Crystal, Regret, True Faith, Temptation, KW1 and Blue Monday all guaranteed though :p

I seriously hope they keep this as vanilla New Order only (with the odd nod towards Joy Division, which is only to be expected).

If this turns into the Barney Show and we start getting stuff from his various side projects then this would kill it stone-dead for me sadly.

Don't forget Ceremony and BLT!

Anything Bad Loot did is surely nailed-on as being in the setlist.

Hope Sirens gets another run out - did Bad Loot ever play it anymore than just once though?

Understandable! But seeing how effective the Out Of Control/Temptation medley on the 09-11 shows was, why not keep it?

Ah those happy days, when NO where never predicatable.

As for the set list and Barney never doing old songs, I guess that these shows will be the first airing of a complete new set and will be released along with the WFTSC additions !

Expecting "a complete new set" is probably a tad optimistic but you have a point about the Sirens leftovers being in the pipeline. I don't think they'll necessarily be promoting the release as these are charity gigs but imagine if any of those tracks are strong enough to fit in...

Nope, I meant any New Order songs that Bad Loot did are nailed on as being in the setlist.

Jezus wept, I'd be the first to walk out if Bad Loot stuff actually got played. :nonono:

Hi guys!

I'm new here! But I've just heard about the Peter Saville prints New Order are putting out in support of Michael Shamberg, to go with the Paris/Brussels' shows coming up. Is anyone going to the gigs too? I am travelling to Paris!

Aaaaanyway the posters are limited edition - it says over 100 are being made and some of them signed by the man himself. I'm toying with the idea of the signed (or unsigned) Paris one. Nice huge screen printed poster would be a nice edition to my flat! (and for charity too of course...)! they live here, http://www.neworderformichaelshamberg.com what do you guys think...?

What I wonder is now that Hooky's not playing for New Order if somebody will continue the tradition of graffiting the backline with a bon mot?

The more I think about it the more I reckon they might play Hellbent. After all, it's the only bit of new material we've had since WFTSC and didn't they do something similar with Brutal at Finsbury Park in 2002? A "new one" added to an otherwise predictable set (granted Brutal was released in 2000 but still).

Add to that there's not a lot of Hooky on Hellbent (his bass goes up a scale, down a scale and er that's it) and with Gillian back I'm sure there will probably be more of a focus on the keyboards and electronics which the backing track has in abundance.

Hopefully, would be a nice surprise.

did anyone on here actually go to the after party? I read a comment on Facebook that someone was refused entry because he was English?!?

Loads of people I knew (English included) went to the Paris aftershow with absolutely no issue. I didn't bother because I didn't fancy staying out until 5am. All of the band plus Arthur Baker and Neil Tennant of PSB were there. There's photos floating around from those who went.

They certainly weren't refusing people entry because of nationality.
