PDC is a lovely town and dirt cheap (90c glasses of beer, twenty euro for a meal for four sort of stuff, gone there for another annual event a few times recently.
But its the middle of bloody nowhere, up lethal roads in mountains. If you can't find accommodation in/near the town (there's probably only a few hundred B&B beds in total) you would be well advised not to try drive back to Porto/Braga tired.
