Hands Up If You Shout New Order, new order, new order....

Sign in here if you are one of the football hooligan brigade who shouts: 'new order, new order, new order....', over and over again at gigs. It's very effective, but I've found that a good old fashioned: 'come back on new order and play some more', works every time.

Not sure that Fradders the Proud Potter would want to be accused of being a Jock, real or plastic !

I prefer the old days when we used to shout

Here we Go, Here we Go, Here we Go, when the light went down.

Can we start that again?

Shouldn't we all start singing the first lines of Crystal ? We know it will be first up !

Thanks for that, Tim. Yes, I live in Scotland but my heart and soul have been left behind in Stoke-on-Trent, THE greatest city in the world.

But, yeah, I do tend to participate in that whole "Nooor-DAH!!!" thing.

We'll have to think of something new for the 'not so imminent' gigs. I'm not one to complain, as you know, but it's getting a bit tiresome. It is more like norder, norder as someone pointed out, which is a little yobbish in itself. KP has a good point about the Crystal lyrics at the start. Maybe green eyes, blue eyes, grey eyes would be appropriate for the pre-encore wailing.

We were doing the Digital bassline before the encore at Finsbree !

Singing the Age of Consent bassline always used to be a good one as well. Some good documentary evidence on the one gig, will check at home later to confirm which one it was.

But they'd have already played Temptation before the encore, no?!

Mike, keep your "Here we go"s to yourself, mate. We're not all louts, you know. Oh, actually, hold on... .

Apollo 98 was funny with everyone going "New Water! New Water!" cos it was heaving down the front and security was liberally chucking water over everyone.

Can someone tell me if BIG FAT ALEX frequents this site. You know the fat b*stard who attends all Manchester related gigs. Is this the Alex you are referring to?

If you mean Stash, yes and no. He visits occasionally but posts rarely. Does provide half the bootlegs for the newer breed of collectors though !

No, its not the Alex im on about, I was on about Crewe Alex, as in Crewe Alexandra who hate Stoke!

Good call! He's the one. I'm sure I remember someone say; "Oi Pies, who ate all the stash!" he popped up at the durutti Column gig in Manc last month. He was also the one who didn't sit down during James's Sit Down at Albert Square in '98 - tosser.

I'd also like to take this opportunity to congratulate myself on reaching 100 posts. Nice one!

Right, back to the jist of the thread. Did we shout norder, norder in '93 at Reading? All I remember was being ratted, two or three back from centre stage in the melly that was a 'rough' mosh. Sorry if I elboed you in the face. About 6 months ago, a retired Doctor removed a stubborn piece of ear wax that I swear had been there since that gig. I'm convinced It was welded to my eardrum by Dinosaur Jr - I was standing sideways with my left ear to the speaker tower. Nice. My hearing in that ear was never the same again. Until 6 months ago. Bit of trivia for y'all.

yes the hands are raised..lots of shouting at the gigs, pre show and pre encore. i dont think it made/makes a blind bit of difference...they will come on when they want, and if no encore was planned you could shout all you like..and shout..and shout...and the lights would eventually come on full blast and the gear would start to be un-plugged and packed away. that was the mystery and part of the fun...would they come back on..the times i have waited, begging that blue light to remain blue.

I think his one and only post was to log into this site whilst waiting for me, JG and Gordie before a New Order in Sweden to tell everyone that I [ahem] 'shag goats'.

Which isn't true, BTW.

Yes Jarvo....we all know that you shag SHEEP!!!:p

or is that Shuggers favorite...I can never keep you lot sorted out:nuts:

Nah, Shug just shags his hand.

I stand corrected...

and I forgot...Jarvo prefers clubby blonde types...

Can we all agree to shout Nu Ordah at the Kraftwerk gigs in March and really mess with those Germans heads?

Mike...what about shouting that at your Britney concert!!!

Nah, they'll think we want Your Silent Face !

My personal preference is the New, New, New-Order Remix as used to devastating effect during every gap in the Sugarcubes set at Reading 89. Poor old Einar got rather cross.

This is getting repetitive, no? Just two sweet, sweet words, mate:

Telford United.

On another note, I recall the NME review of Reading '89 (have previously detailed the sorry reasons for my absence on that day right here on this forum) complaining about the "slapheads shouting for New Order" throughout the 'Cubes set. Wonder who they were talking about - no slapheads on here, surely...???

Get lost Fradders, every one knows the FA cup is a mickey mouse cup these day, thats why we let our youth team play!

Never thought I'd ever see Crewe calling something else Mickey Mouse ! That really is taking the piss.....

Keep your filthy boring football obsessiveness to yourselves, or bugger off to a more appreciative audience. There's no place for it here.
