As you might have noticed (or not), we have gone to a little skin change tonight.

Thank you very much to WenOrder to have done this skin for NewOrderOnline!

There is a few changes around, you might find some bugs, the biggest change is the new menu system (again), which should work better...

Also, you can now pre-order Community and CommunityEP! Check the Community menu!

Enjoy!

Wen your skin design is a big improvement

Too gay.

Seems to render much faster as well, and is more streamlined...did you guys take the advice of that one guy and turn off whatever it was that was adding the extra stuff?

Sorry, I don't quite understand this expression?

I'd like to take a sec to thank Nic for giving me opportunity to design the look of what I think is THE BEST website and community on the interenet. I usually don't have any interesting topics or comments to post here, so doing this design and along with The Community Project is my way to contribute :D!

Thanks for all the kind comments so far and I apologize to those who don't like it ;).

As always it looks good. A little lighter, but that's all the rage with current Atkins-diets etc.

It's interesting that you should mention the menu... It works and works well. There is an... "peculiarity" that I've noticed when using Opera 7.20 (go figure). When the sub-menus open up, they have a grey background and (probably) Arial bold font of some size. After I have let the mouse hover over the sub-menuitems, they change to transparent background and non-bold Arial font of some bigger size. This remains until I reload the side.

No biggie, but I'd imagine that it's just some setting you can adjust in the code.

Bit weird to stumble upon the new design when I've gotten used to the old one, as gay as it was :p

I'm just waiting for the eventual conversion of this site to a Yanni tribute board, really  (it's not a matter of if but when :D )

Congratulations, Nick and Mike, the new-look site is fabulous! :thumb: Luv'd it!

I meant most of savilles work is a different take on other peoples work,so i thought maybe it was kind of a tribute to him. Its a good design though,im not complaining1 Its crisp & clean. :)

Well, it's a different take of my work for sure

Basically, all the elements are placed at the same place ;)

Similar to the Opera problem mentioned above....in IE 6.x the drop-down menus have a problem. You can only mouseover once ie if you move the mouse away from the selected menu element, the submenu disappears as normal. However, placing the cursor back on the menu element again doesn't get the drop-down menu to appear unless you refresh the page.

Nice work, though.

well done, Wen and Nic  it's a pleasure to look at, easier to read as well I find.

At least isn't about IC topping himself:D

Good work lads - very subtle.

Camus once said(shut up - I'm not talking to myself or the ceiling) "those that use SHOCK to display an opinion cannot convinve."

Na, no, yeah, it's splendid.

Barely noticed -;)

"convince"

sorry - fell asleep

I do use IE 6 and have no problem with that....

Especially since this is a commercial product, so ANY bug will be reported ASAP to the company to make sure they fix it ;)

Have just reported same bug (again IE6) in tech Forum !

Yes indeed I have the same thing....

Just noticed.

That's weird.. awaiting support, should have an answer soon.

Weirdly, it seems to work again is you move off the menu, wait a few seconds and then go back to another section of the menu....

Or should I say, some start working, and others don't...

Very weird!

The new design looks great!! :thumb:

Just for the record, I have a hot fix for the menu, I'll apply it tonight...

Sometimes, they are fast

Correction.. this fix isn't for this, I read too fast

Nice design; more readable now AND... it seems to work better on the linux/mozilla combo now, i don't see the problem of 'jumping columns' anymore so it seems to be BETTER too  Noticed that the 'add reply' button a.o. is still blue though; who cares.

Hmm.. I everything seems to be working great.. I keep having these damn problems with the Mp3s on the media page... the real audio works fine on my PC but a "plug in error" banner pops up when I try to download anything in Mp3 format... anyone know what this could be?

Is that just me, or this site is now looking like Mr. Sultan's one? :D

I haven't found any references to PDiddy yet.

I mean the colors

worldinmotion still users the color scheme of NewOrderOnline v2.0 as far as I remember... when they stole my design, they did change it, but kept the colors...

Those are indeed the colors of previous incarnations of NOOL, although Michael didn't know it when he did the skin...

But anyways, Ricardo's right.. if you go deeper, you should see the blue and yellow template of the P Diddy worldinmotion ripped the design from

I'll get my coat...

Hmm, right.

But what P Diddy has to do with this?

Originally posted by Server Error in "/" Application Hmm, right. But what P Diddy has to do with this?

David Sultan is a serial HTML copier. Not only did he nick the source code from this site, he also lifted a design from a P.Diddy site, and forgot to change the page header, so half of WIM shows up "P.Diddy" in the page header when you open the page. It's quite amusing really.

Nicos, for sure the "julioonline" will be a success, and a friend of you will be webmaster :laugh:

The colors are really great, very soft. I think that Saville would aprove it.

:D:D

Nicolas,

there is a bug with your DHTML menu. For some reason when on the FORUM navigation entry, the sub menu is displayed, but once you roll out and back over on it, the sub menu won't display again.

Update your code ;)

Actually it DOES display, it's transparent!! seriously, move and you'll see that the sub-menu inside the sub-menu WILL display :jawdrop:

Anyways, this bug has been submitted to the company who does the menu, they are working on it! They said they have never seen it though!

Here it doesn't display, but, spookily enoght, it works! You click in the void (where the submenu should appear), and suddenly you're brought to another page! So we have only one chance to decide where to go, you won't see the options twice... While we're at it, under the 800 x 600 resolution there's a horizontal scroll bar. This happened also before, but it would be nice if the site could fit horizontally on any resolution... could you use percentage values instead of absolute size?

Hmm, just tried Inet Exploder 6 and the menus do disappear after they have been seen the first time. In Opera I see the menu-items but they grey background disappears. It's funny that Opera actually works better than Expowder on this site for once

Actually the problem of Opera and Mozilla is they do work perfectly, always. That prevents them from displaying "correctly" the sites which are poorly coded. But if a site view is not good on those browsers is the site's fault and not of the browsers, which are made to render only code which is standard-compliant. Internet Explorer is more messy, but displays a wider range of sites because it renders also the wrong code.
