i was talking to my GF the other day about tatoos, about how they must last for life so it has to be something that lasts too, etc. and i thought "a New Order tatoo could fit into that!". so i started to wonder what i could eventually tatoo in my body related to NO... and i´m still thinking, actually!

so that´s it. help me out. do you have a NO related tatoo? tell us about it. if you don´t, would you like to have one? what would it be like? and where would you put it?

De Blackburn Yoot used to have New Order tats. Ones I remember were BLT and the Village. Seemed to do their fave songs on their upper arms. Also met an English lad in Sweden two years ago who'd had Perfect Kiss tattoo'd on his upper arm, only to decide he didn't like the song when it came out cos it was too 'poppy'.

Get your shins done - a la Hooky! :thumb:

The side of your foot is the new upper arm.

I'd like one of those leaves on my shoulderblades (or ankle). I was tempted once to get a HMFC heart done, but they only came in size BIG and for a girl I think they should be subtle (and I think Deek would have applied for a divorce as well  ) As for you, Alejo, what about a little angel spreading dust ...

A few years ago I considered having the 1994 'Best Of/Rest Of' era NewOrder logo tattooed on my arm, but then I cam to my senses & had something more universal & aesthetically-pleasing.

Don't bother with all this legs business, on your shoulder, arm, or upper backs where you want it done. Having tattoos on legs, feet, hips, arses etc is for girls & poofters... :ignore:

I cant think of a new order image that would make a good tattoo. Seems a bit stupid, sorry.

I have thought of a NO tat for a while, the best idea so far is the colour coding circle on the back of Power Corruption and Lies. Personally i think all tats should not be obvious.

Another idea is to get Unkown Pleasures sleave done in reverse (black will be white, and white will be black ) with either just unkown Pleasures written or Forever, Joy Divison and Unknown Pleasures.

On another point Geri, DON'T DO IT! ya big Jambo!!

yeah , dont get a tatoo. you may end up selling it on to a fac owner in a time of desperation :evi4:

mo choix : the unknown pleasures sleeve

Don't listen to this lot, Geri, you get a tattoo if you want one. These guys here are just a bunch of poofs & wimps who shit their pants after writing on their hands with a biro.

Tattoos rule, & you know it!

Its the HMFC one thats a no go!

Otherwise, shit yeah!

Do you mean the question mark? I think that'd make a cool tattoo - everyone would wonder what it means! If I was going to get one (which I'm not any time soon - I'm too much of a wimp when it comes to pain), that's what I'd have.

If anyone wants a tat, I would suggest to get a henna tat before you finally decide you want a permanent tat.

yes, a henna tat. that´s the only thing i could possibly do ´cause i´m too chicken to do a real one!

but i like the ideas so far. keep them comming! :thumb:

what about a Get Ready red bar on the arm? or just the lines of Movement (without the typo). the colour code is great too....

My first tattoo was indirectly inspired by Joy Division.

Throughout my early to mid-teens I knew I wanted a tattoo when I turned 18, but I just wasn't sure what. I wanted something that was related to some of my favorite bands, but didn't want to go with band names or song titles in case one day I hated those bands. So I decided to go with the Crow design from the first movie (the crow with the two crow heads and eyes inside of it) since The Crow was heavily inspired by Joy Division. Of coarse I get alot of crap about it from people who think its "cheezy" or "too goth," but it still has special meaning to me which is what matters.

So my advice is to go with a design thats indirectly related to NO that way if (god forbid) you ever get tired of NO, then all you're stuck with is a cool design.

US chicks may think that the M1 is the main US battle tank with a very long barrel.

:brow: or we may think it's a motorway that runs north/south from london up the east coast of england. best way to get to scotland in my opinion, though some would argue for the M6, although on that route there's bound to be loads of traffic around birmingham.

perhaps...just being a wee bit sensitive. i get it from british people who don't know me all the time: 'you wouldn't understand what we're talking about...you're an american.'

as for ladies not wanting to have sex with you, that's an assumption, as well, isn't it? :D

Doubts even there? wow! couldn't the question mark in, err, question also be the letters N & O on a slant?

re tatoos - get one where you cant see it - then you never get fed up of it.

FatCunt, you should get a lovely tattoo on your arse, but that would mean not being able to talk out of it for an hour or so whilst the tattooist stuck his/her needles in...

Now, now, JSB, slapped wrist. There's a fine line between banter and abuse.

You're better than that, surely?

wouldnt worry about it Al, as someone once said, its far better to keep quiet and have people think you are a complete wanker than open your mouth & remove all doubt, so let him proove away.

apart from anything else james sky barnes, to get a tattoo on your arse would not involve needles going up your anus, so assuming* you meant i was talking out of my anus & not the arse cheeks then your argument is invalid.

*intentional pun

Who's worrying?

When I said JSB was "better than that, surely?" I meant he could surely insult you better than that?! :eek3:

c´mon, you all. get off my thread! it was a serious discussion going on here

now, back to tatoos, i´m still thinking the Movement one (without the letters) would be really nice. the TF leaf... though the guy who draws it HAS to be a real artist to make it good. the ƒ of Factory or THE factory logo... hmmm

I think you ought to get a tattoo, but not a New Order-related one. When your 90 years old, staring at your arm, & New Order are a very distant memory, you'll think "What the flip was I thinking?!"

Tattoos rule! :jump:

aww cmon if ure gonna have a new order tat then its gotta be either the cog n verneir gauge factory icon,or the fac 51 members enamel badge (ive got 3) heheh.

Got "True Faith" in a small tat on my right upper arm.

Favourite song, favourite lyrics & a personal meaning too.

When I'm 90, I'll still know it was a good idea.
