I'm a little shocked I didn't see any review of the single yet.. are you all sleeping? or did I miss it?
Hope I can read some to see if it's worth buying it as an import, if the mixes are any good!

Oh and I forgot.. before Patrick post it, you can try to predict where will 60 Miles An Hour will enter the charts !!
My guess? Let's say in the 20s? I have no clue about the UK market...
And again.. I'm trying to find a scan for Part 2, I've done the usual suspects, but didn't find it. I'd be happy to put that online if anyone can scan & send!
Well, Nic, since it's not being released in the U.S., someone else will have to provide the chart info. But I don't expect anything from it chart-wise.
Charts out at the end of the week here. Expect 20s. As for the single, the radio edit's pretty cack, Sabotage is good, and the remixes aren't bad in their own right butbare little resemblance to NO. Thhe Superman Lovers mix is particuarly bad though.
Hi Nicolas!
Well, i guess there's a worldwide confusion going on about that release...
In Germany, it seems that there's is going to be only one CD of "60 miles an hour"! check www.wea.de for info! You can also find a scan of the second cover there! It seems that the german record company hestitates to release both CD's so the tracklisting of the german single is:
Pretty poor that there's no "sabotage". Release should be on monday (just like in the UK) but i checked nearly every record store in Frankfurt the last two days...but couldn't find any CD....
damn record company policy  would've been a good salespusher after these great concerts in germany....
Reviews in the UK have been fairly mediocre. The usual "New Order going through the motions" stuff. A second rate Crystal etc... Call it lazy journalism.
That Superman Lovers mix is fucking awful.I mean, how bad can things be to get these sad hapless fuckwits to do a half decent mix.My cat could do better.

Thanx a lot, Marco ! I'm watching it right now !

All the mixes are absolute shite...though I didn't expect anything less. Sabotage is pretty mediocre as well and 60MPH doesn't sound like a single to me. Surely someone could have done a decent mix of SLY - do these remixers get paid for this garbage?
Actually I'm now pretty bored of Getting Things Ready. Crystal, Turn My Feet, Someone Like Geoff and Behind Closed Doors are the only ones I think I'll continue to listen to for now. The rest I can take or leave.
Hi there!
I finally got my two CD-singles of "60 mph".
well, what to say? the radio edit sounds terribly butchered, the album-version is much better. "Sabotage", great tune, almost too good to waste it as a b-side. And the remixes...pure crap to me. Who needs that??? Why didn't they release only one CD-single backed with "Sabotage" and "Player in the League" ???
i guess that question will never be answered...
cheers ;)

... if the question is answered there better be a bloody good excuse.

...if there hasn't been a "Sabotage" on one of the CD's i would say these two CD's are a waste of money.
(never thought i'd say this about a new order release one day...)
Yup. Ruined in a day mixes were worse though. CD2 has no relation to NO whatsoever. It's only coz I reguarly rave to tunes like the 2nd mix by james holden, that I've got any time for that disc at all.
So do I... in fact, I haven't even bought them, any of them. Sick and tired of wasting money on re-mixes. Really, why buy 60MPH?... for a radio edit?... oh well.
Quite depressing. The collections slipping, wonder what that's down to?

The only reason to buy either one, Huntsy, is for Sabotage, which is marginally better than Slow Jam.

A good moan to reach 1500 with then Hunto. Nice one.
If yuo dont get them One day you may regret not buying them though...Actually probably not.
Sabotage is worth a couple of quid though
As Patrick mentioned...the one and only reason to buy the single is definitely "Sabotage"...as sad as it sounds... :(
Well boys our friend Muffler wrote me the 'Sabotage' song a few months previous onto a CD... which surely leaves me in a pirate situation?... I guess a trip to the shops is in New Order... at least I'll have that comedy short they did for the 60MPH video. Utterly madenning these mixes... why don't they just put some songs out?... can't be that hard?

Originally posted by Patrick Yes, it's only taken them eight very long years, Huntsy, it can't be that hard.
Well... 7 years of moaning and 1 year of writing 10 songs more like... 1 month to craft another couple and replace the re-mix mixes of re-mixes mixed by re-mixers who enjoy re-mixing re-mixes?... surely better choice?
Are we saying that New Order are just a re-mix band?
Ratio...
1 Original New Order song:
1 Re-mix 1 Dance Version 1 Trance Mix 1 Techno Mix 1 Version of them versions
1 Further Re-mix done by a semi-famous small boy 1 A collectors re-mix of remixes
so tedious.

I'd be happy with...
New Order song Creditable Re-mix 2 other songs
Oasis can do it.
Still haven't got the two 60mph cd. Fucking hard to get overhere in holland.I had to order them(!) at a record shop. Deliverytime 5 to 7 days. Can you believe it? Well i could go to Amsterdam and probably get it straight away, but it is a fucking disgrace i cant get it in my own home town!! Damn, still have not heard Sabotage yet, and that is all i want. Could not care less about all the fucked up remixes of 60bpm

I think every one would... It's not as though there haven't been a few decent mixes around either...Lee Coombs Crystal (I know youre not a fan though Hunter) is one such example, though I think you would have been more partial if it had been the only remix on the single.
If they really want to do a load of mixes, chuck em on 12" singles.
Lets face it - this was a poor choice for a Single. If anything it should have been "Someone Like You" but then again judging by the remixes, even that may not be the answer. the only good thing to come out of this was the superb Bside "Sabotage" Now this Is PURE new order a great start, superb verse and hooky chorus and not forgetting the great ending. Oh If you have not heard the Mixes from "Someone Like You" Promo 12" (same as future 12") then well this is gonna be the next failure cos they are POOR! With such a great start to the comeback I think they'd better buck up things the release front!

How about a poll? Let's find out which remix is the most boring. That will be a hard choice, i guess... :p
...and the sad thing about the remixes is, that the remixers themselves get paid very well for slaughtering NewOrder-songs... :(
Are there any remixes that are actually better than the original version? I even think the album versions of BLT and Subculture are better than the 12 inches. Even though they are not bad they do not add a lot to the originals.
Not really. the only couple I can think of personally is the K-Klass mix of Ruined in a day and maybe the Perfecto of World. Mind you I've never really heard any of the Technique era mixes.
I think the Perfecto of World is in fact better than the original, plus some of the Spooky remixes.
Some of the Spooky remixes are definitely better than the original, although I think the "perfect" version of Spooky has never been released. It should be a cross between the Magimix, which has the best sound, and the Stadium mix, which best preserves the melody.
60 miles an hour, what can I say Supermen get away from that kryponite and you may produce something less shite,I'm sure monkeys could be trained to randomly hit buttons and produce something of as much worth. As for Someone Like You,Futureshock mix is toss,It sounds like a decent prog track only half arsed and knocked together in about an hour.Which leaves us with James(prog is dead)Holden, geeky nerd extaordinaire, what has he managed to come up with.......well it sounds like the aural equivalent of being sucked into the air intake of a 747 in slow motion, being defragmented, cleansing your soul, having your D.N.A. double helix unravelled in a cosmic tailspin as the turbines suck you in,looking at your thoughts from a distance you become detacthed from consciousness, you finally realise time ceases to be of significance and you are at last one with the ether.Of course I may go of it a bit tomorrow,I'm a fickle bastard.
After listening to those remixes once, it's hard for me to imagine listening again to distinguish slight variations in the degree of badness among them.

Mario...
why don't you just do it the easy way...amazon.co.uk????
Still Jeff haven't you got Amazon.com there in the United States of the Americas?... or is Amazon.co.uk the only place for hideous and offensive re-mixes?
I'd like a full report on the GameCuboid as I'm itching to order from the States... Amazon.co.uk won't be getting them in until late Christmas 2009 when I fear we'll all have died in an horrific nuclear situation starring the middle east.

Patty my good fellow have you still not witnessed the original Let's Go and Have Sexual Intercourse song yet from the mid eighties with lyrics...
"Find a key that burns your heart"
Played it again last night.............. few what a scorcher! Almost up there with Throw and Please Leave me an Extensive Loan with interim interest variables.

Yes Mr. Hunt,
we have Amazon over here as well...but they don't normally stock all those UK singles...or if they do, they want more than it costs me to order it from the UK version and pay for the shipping...
as for the Game Cube...Nintendo must have only made about 4 of them...we got our initial shipment, which management would not allow us to touch, and we haven't seen any more yet. the x-box we get in every day, and I now have PS2s flowing out of my ass...but are you saying that you would very much like a game cube??? I mean, if you really want one, and we get some in, would you like to see if I oculd manage to snag one of them???
And where would I find this particular item, Huntsy?
By the way, obviously we do have a US amazon, but places like that aren't always very good about offering import CD's. In fact, they're pretty bad on that score. I got mine from sirendisc.com.
Well Pats I'd be highly delighted to send you the song MP3 style down the interpipe if you would like?... if you click on my profile of all profiles and dare to e-mail me I'll return the song to you tonight using me birds beautiful cabloid model m... speeds so fast think i was drunk. Its just that when I listened to it last night I thought, fuck P would love this.
Jeff I would dearly love a UK to USA GameGobbler exchange facility moment... I'm a retro rat of untold proportions, yes, the eighties also meant the arcades for me until they ended up like smoking zones with horrible creatures in them, anyway, I do like my gaming nature. England gets everything 10 decades late so I'd snap my own hands (and your nose) for a Cuboid. Let us know when they creep into your WallMart store of stores. Z-box are poo, PS2 is as common as filthy, but the GC has the prospect of Zelda and me birds fave MarioKarting facility.

Yes, that would be very nice, Huntsy, thank you. I had thought you were as protective of details like e-mail addresses as I am. Of course, the question of whether I will be able to cope technologically with an MP3 file remains to be seen.

well i don't mind sharing a few things every now and then so long as i can always duck out of the way of a mad man or woman... someone like buster klumpy for example.
whenever you feel like getting things ready patty i'll return to your address with the song... its really good, almost pathos.

Cheers Pitcher... that would seem like a good move. Didn't realise the OrderLine had it on the decks...

In any event, Huntsy, I did e-mail you at 10:25 EST; am I to understand that didn't go through?
Thanks for the link, Pitch, I haven't tried it yet.

Hey...does it sound like the Supermen Lovers just discovered MIDI??? I kept expecting to see some old video game pop up on my TV screen while I was listening to this pile of crap...then just when that got kind of annoying, they switch over to some god awful disco funk thing...jesus, then they switch back, and forth...Whoever these pig fuckers are, I will find them, and I will kill them, this is horrible. That Funk d'void mix of SLY is starting to sound great compared to this!!!!
Also, I was just studying the notes on the 2 CD's...and while the original version of 60 MPH is available on the album Get Ready, they make no mention of SLY being on the album? Why do you suppose that is? Besides, do they really think there are people out there buying this single that don't already own the album?
And now, after listening to both discs, I can quite safely say that they shall go into my New Order and related bands CD rack, not being likely to see the light of day for quite some time. I almost feel like I've wasted 6.80 pounds and whatever the shipping and handling was on that little binge.
Sabotage was the highlight of this bunch...sounded too much like Electronic for me, so I stand by my original judgement.
I need to listen to Sabotage some more, before coming to any judgment, but apart from that those CD's go in a dusty corner.
If you read this, Huntsy, I sent you an e-mail about Let's Go this morning, but it doesn't appear to be let's-going.

Well Patty just to inform you the 'Let's Go this Morning' e-mail 2nd attempt came though an hour ago (which I replied to)... but, stranger still.... the original one has just popped through? (1:09pm UK time).
Perhaps it visited a few other worlds first?, mind, all our worlds are one so I don't know how that fits into the greater scheme of all things.

Well, Huntsy, your reply must be visiting all those places, but it hasn't reached me yet. Nor delivery confirmation on either of this morning's tries. Perhaps it is all those music fans in Afghanistan who are just discovering NO for the first time.

or your computers checking them for White Powders
and while we're on this little subject...
If both disc one and two of this little gem known as 60mph have CD2 stickers on them...are we just to assume that they forgot to publish cd1 stickers, or are they just going to use them on the next single???
and Patrick, I can see it now...Afghans, long repressed by the Taliban, shaving off their beards, consuming vast quantities of Ecstasy and writhing about their mud huts and caves dancing to Mr. Disco, Blue Monday (which is when you head for the bar), hey, they might even like this Superboys Lovers remix...
Alright, I'm going to the beer store, who needs what?
Do you suppose the band listens to, and gives their approval of this stuff, or are we just subjected to the whims and fancies of the folks at London?
