BTW, I'd love to note that SUGARGANE is not there...

Changed titled or will it be a b-side? don't know!

Whilst it's always good to hear new information, I'm not gonna get up nor down about this tracklisting until it really is official. The amount of time we spent discussing Sugarcane as a title is the case in point.

I don't have one !!!

Otherwise, 30 secs clip would be online! (well, I guess I'd still ask the label before...)

As for the titles, since this is the promo sent to the press for reviews, it would be a little stupid to change the titles, isn't it?

But it's New Order...

Well, seeing as you're the official site (according to Billboard :p), you should get one! :evil4:

l8rs,

Nick ;)

Some titles smell like instrumental things. But I think it's a good thing that the album is not going to begin with the first single. That's a sign of a beautiful album. A lot of bands put the first single as the first song just to punch the album as you listen to it while it increasingly descends in terms of quality from the second song to the end. I hope that this is not the case. Of course, it's New Order!!!!!

Ha, ha I enjoyed it! I wonder who put this info about 'Sugarcane' first? To end their career sweetly NO should entitle the entire new LP 'Sugarcane' and piss everyone off, ha :)

Right, it will be on the flip side of the WFTSC single:

01 Waiting For The Sirens Call 02 Waiting For The Sirens Dub 03 Sugarcane Extended Mix 04 Sugarcane Seed Mix :D

NME`s hot tracks (last but one page) this week inludes "Fast Synth" describing it as the danciest track on the album.a "happy/sad call - response corker"

Lordsy? , Pop 1?,MiniDisk2? not keen on those titles but it`s the mention of it sounding like Brotherhood that has got me worried:thumbdown:

Well I'm not fond of Brotherhood either... BUT to me the point was the mixing of the album. If the new LP is like Brotherhood with a better mixing then I guess it's fine with me.

I actually like brotherhood. I'm very excited :thumb:

Dear New order,

Since everyone is going to piss and moan about the titles, let's just go with the following suggestions:

SHIT PISS ARSE DUNG CRAP

You get the idea...

by the way, I don't give a you know what about the titles...

Thanks,

Jeff

It's not like Brotherhood.

From all the comments I got so far, it seems obvious that there is a part of every album on there... so if this is New Order's last, it should sum them all.

Those had better not be the final titles.

Gillian: "Why don't we name the songs something that makes sense?"

Barney: "Why don't we just not bother naming them at all?"

IF it's to be their last, I hope they're not going down that particular path. Orbital did the same last year with their final effort 'The Blue Album', with rather mixed results. I'd prefer to hear the band seeking progression - as they always have - to the last.

If it ends up resembling Brotherhood in some way, it's not such a bad thing? Predictable comparison due to that album's pronounced guitar/dance split. People complain about the dirty production but sheesh, that was on the back of Low Life. Prefer that than the syrupy, over-produced nature of Republic any day.

Whilst we may be concerned with some of the track titles, I think the most concerning news/rumour of all is that this will be New Order's last album. Can anyone confirm this or are we just guessing????

Can't wait for the album!!!:thumb:

Hi Chris, and welcome from another Melburnian. This rumour is, at best, uninformed guessing. There was a similar amount of "this is the last album" posting on here before Get Ready was released...the truth is nobody knows, I suspect the band themselves included! CTB :bear:

Thanks CTB...now I can relax and just enjoy WFTSC without worrying too much about the future. :D:D

Fast Synth? Im pretty sure thats a patch name from a Roland synth of some variety.

looks like they save tracks like i do. i got lots of tracks named fred, spang, spod, fish, big, dancey, twangey etc. and one called 'hangover' written on the day i had my worst ever hangover.

the best name i used though was 'groovy fucker' lol

Don't even ask me about the apostrophe, that is exactly what I got...!

Good, 'cos it's in exactly the right place; multiple Sirens, their call; ergo: Sirens'. :)

Largely depends on whether there is only one siren or not. There was only one used on the mid-79 live versions of Disorder, that much is for sure.

If it's in any way related to Greek mythology, Odysseus and his gang or even the modern day metaphor for this event, then you'd expect it to be Sirens' Call. There were indeed many sirens on that particular island (but no, it wasn't Lesbos).

More likely, given Barney and co's past, the sirens represent the traditional emergency vehicle variety.

Hopefully it's not an Odyssean portent for impending doom, ie. waiting for the demise of the band.

The Plump DJs fleeced you on that one.

2003 Fingerlickin' Records: Big Groovy Fucker 12"

Quite a pumpin' tune it was too.

Thanks for the great info.

Personally, I like these names, even if they are working titles: Do you lot not remember what 586 was? I think the worst is Sirens.

It's the songs that matter. When you here them the titles sort of seem to be of little consequence.

Does any one have the song lengths or even just the length of the CD?

I like Mini Disc 2,but not fussed on some titles-to be fair, the titles may suit the music-obviously Fast Synth cant be an acoustic number...

I wonder if we'll get a special edition, deluxe edition, box edition or one with a free DVD attached, as most bands put out these days.

According to ths weeks NME 'Fast Synth' is the danciest track on the album and is a happy/sad corker and they`ve given it a "return to form" rating.
