I received the final copy of the press release now, so those errors are gone.

Well... but still there's no route to "Road To Ruin" :skeptic:

Road To Ruin = Morning Night And Day

Anyway, the paragraph still confused. If the “anthemic, tuneful ROAD TO RUIN” is in fact MORNING NIGHT AND DAY, which song is the “hilarious regret of MORNING NIGHT AND DAY”, on a phrase before?

Miranda Sawyer...? At first glance I thought Trevor had written that bio! "Planet-shagging"? Come on now.

But I'm becoming more excited by the day!

Originally posted by Doctor Clayhead Steve Morris is the funniest fucker in pop. He should have his own TV show.

Never a truer word said.

Whenever I read an Interview, it always dissapoints me how little Steve gets in, because what he says is usually golden. Some interviewer should get Mr Morris in a room on his own for an interview, free from the Barney/Hooky exchanges were usually treated to.

The drumming on Krafty sounds ace too.

Steve is the coolest.

Originally posted by depthcharge Peeps, let's not get carried away. It's an official press release, penned by Miranda Sawyer, a huge New Order fan as we all know. If you read most bands' press releases, they generally claim their new album will set the world on fire. They are after all, designed primarily to help shift units. We all want the album to be killer but let's wait for some objective third party reviews? What was very cool was how positive they seemed about the tracks and even better to see that the working titles have been dumped. And about that apostrophe... Could well be back in. That'll be one apology served with milk and a sugar thanks Old Blue.:\pimp3:

That's true, but have you ever seen a band or anyone affiliated with it that wasn't excited about their latest work? I never put much faith in 3rd party reviews either since they are subject to bias(either for or against) as well. I definitely agree that the hype is intended to shift units because at the end of the day, it's all business.

I will say even after hearing a lo-fi mp3 of Krafty is sounds as if the production will be much superior to that of anything on Get Ready.

Well, the idea with 3rd party review is trying to find one that shares the same musical tastes as you do... then you know what to expect.

Otherwise, tastes are totally personal, but good reviews will always help.

I agree with most of that! Except the 'Messiah' bit... all I can see him doing is destroying your club! :evil4:

nobody has really mentioned just how "un-NewOrderish" these song titles are.... if true, Barney and the guys must be in a really different/inspired/loose mood... which bodes well ... either that or Barney has totally lost his mind :uhoh:

they have always had a history of "working titles" of tracks, so the name changes are no surprise...

7 songs left to form the basis of another album.... fuckin hell,we could be getting another one before christmas! 'Working Overtime'? they must be!

Dissapointed that they think so highly of Get Ready. If it's only as good as that, I'll be gutted. Still using too many new-fangled retro sounding drums for my liking. Still there should at least be a variety of production styles on the album. Not that impressed with Leckie's so far. Still think they should have have used Tom and Ed, a la Here To Stay.

Yeah, but 3 singles would be 3 b-sides...

Last time they had Brutal-Behind Closed Doors-Sabotage-Player In The League-Such A Good Thing, this time they have 2 extra more...

Don't know... I'd prefer B-Side have having them back to work...

"Who’s Joe? Absolutely no idea. To me, it’s the story of a tramp.”"

Sounds suspiciously like a hommage to an Inspiral Carpets song, if you ask me! :p

Hopefully we wont get 3 singles,by the third it`ll only be filled with below par remixes-save the tracks and put out a 5 track EP toward the end of the year (factus8 2 anybody?)

Who's Joe? is clearly NO's follow-up to Busted's smash #1 Who's David?.

Clearly.

Does anybody think the official song titles are better than those floating around before? What do you expect from songs titled "Who's Joe" and "Hey Now What You Doing"??? Is this the new album from The Ramones??? Not that I don't like The Ramones, but Hey, New Order, how are you naming your songs?

When I heard names bandied about like 'Lordsy', 'Pop 1', 'Fast synth' and 'Mini-disc 2'. It thought they'd either lost the plot or were taking the piss big-time. Now, having seen the official list, I'm somewhere in between.

Considering that they did release Here To Stay + Player On The League as an off-album single (and people thought they were no longer doing this :nonono: ), if they have good left overs, maybe this is also what would happen.

IMHO, they will keep at least one track for the "Closer" movie...

OK, Barney and Hooky are smaller than the other two but as I've posted on here before (see 'size matters' threads) they're not as short as people think (FAQ says 5'6 each). They both can be no shorter than 5'8 (which admittedly is 'short' but not '5'6 short'). Here's why: 1 Johnny Marr is 5'8. In any Electronic stuff he and Barney are exactly the same height - if anything Barney sometimes appears slightly taller. 2 In the WIM video Hooky is more or less the same size as Liverpool's Steve McMahon who's 5'9. If he was in fact 5'6 you'd easily notice the difference.

CONCLUSION: THEY ARE NOT 5'6! PLEASE CHANGE THE FAQ!
