Nice to hear Krafty live.

Digital Mike, what were you talking about? He's obviously singing it live, not miming along. He certainly sounds nervous.

gotta go to BED before it gets too late!!!!!!

OMG! how funny. Krafty sounds shitty live. I guess that's down to mr.Sumner's inability to perform properly though...that and the shite backing vocals. not sure the $1000 to do Coachella is worth it afterall. Oh well, too late now.

why, oh why does he have to shout "COME ON" during LWTUA Every single time he sing's it? Bernard truly ruins nearly every newOrder show with his shortcomings..so many to choose from i can't name just one. is it the Charlie? someone slip BS a valium before he hits the stage, please.

Krafty may have been better without Dawn Zee wailing all over it...

Both Barney and Hooky piss me off shouting all over LWTUA too. However Barney did look as if he was genuinely in some sort of trouble. Sweating profusely and really nervous. Maybe he's ill at the moment or the magnitude of the occasion got to him!

i've had too much coffee, i'm talking shite. i can't wait to see them regardless of the money. listening to a live performance is miles away from being there.

why don't you stick to posting nonsense on the "other side"? some people here are actually Fans of New Order, and not just piles of bootlegs.

don't system7 or hawkwind have a message board you can waste your pathetic life on?

To settle the old miming debate, it is possible for sound and picture to come out of synch on tv. I dont believe that New Order were miming, because i dont think barney would mime over vocals that bad (ok thats a bit harsh). I've seen countless tv programmes where the sound and picture are not in synch, MOTD the other week for instance, yet no one accused alan hansen and gary lineker of miming.

I accept what you are saying UNCLE, but then sync was OUT, yes or no ?

They weren't miming last night, he got the words wrong once, the timing wrong twice and banged in a couple of bum notes as well, as did Hooky. Business as usual!

Listen to the intros on LWTUA - eight bars too early on the second verse, chorus twice as long after the first verse, four bars too early on the third verse.....

just think of how much Barnie's gonna sweat out at Coachella heheh.

and dammit.. i can't get my avatar to upload!

I honestly dont remember. I personally didnt think they were miming.

Mimin ...Bollocks ..no one would mime to lyrics that were completly fookin wrong ...accept it ...i sometimes wonder whether Barney was miming on them DVDS i got off you there that fookin bad ..*L*

Yes but football pundits talk out of their arses anyway so you wouldn't have noticed ;)

I hate it when they only play half a song. Why Krafty??? But at least we have a preview of what to expect for Coachella. But the good news is thats 2 times in a row they played the "Head" verson of Blue Monday! So I really think we get the "Head" mix for Coachella :thumb: Now I'm looking forward to them playing it.

Keep up the good work Nic. Maybe we will get the video for Krafty!

D'you think it is the reason why Noel Gallagher seemed to be the only one not jumping to LWTUA ?

The vocals on Krafty are just APPALLING... Could anyone tell DZ to shut the f*** up and let BS sing out of tune ? :evil4:

Good to see the lads and ( ladies ) receiving a much deserved award.

I sort of cringe now when I see them live on TV. They are still capable of producing some great music but I cant stop my mind drifting back to 85-88. They used to be so frightening live...It was just the most intense experience.

For various reasons I struggle to catch them live now..( I managed to sneak about 30 mins @ Landsdowne Road and this nearly cost me a divorce !!! )

From all accounts Move was excellent....but everytime I see Barney and Hookey dancing about I cringe. I will catch them live again....just for the crack, the blue light, the lateness.

Just give me one more time !!!

I dunno. Seeing Hooky kick ass on the bass just makes up for almost everything else. He could still eat everybody else in that audience for breakfast and then some.

Why the #$%& did the Pet shop boys have to present the award (again ?) Come on! Anybody else please !! They have more than an 80's outdated dance sound !

Was that Gillian up there at the award ceremony with Steve on the left of the screen ?

Also -

That Kylie Minogue thing at the beginning of Blue Monday ? I mean, its ok for Kylie to pay homage to New ORder, but the other way around ? Ok in a club being mixed, but not by living legends !

LWTUA (except for vocals) was $%^&*ing fantastic. Great to see them rock it out once in a while.

Crystal was not performed then or it wasn´t broadcasted?

btw, i have to admit Gillian looks great nowadays. in very good shape. i don´t think i´ve ever seen her wearing jeans before?

they seem to really tone hooky's bass sound down these days, check blue monday...you can hardly hear him.

My computer wall paper of NO has G wearing jeans!(half hidden behind the others) got it from this site - i think - Nick might know where it is now. the photo reference was no_1024

people on here make me laugh, and also provide me with the reason I visit her so rarely nowadays.

Krafty sounds fine live - what's the problem? Barney's vocals have always been dodgy - part of the charm surely? SOunds better live than on record to me

Barney nervous? I don't think I've ever seen him look so relaxed. He wouldn't do that dire dance if he was nervous would he?

Fans have got to face facts that they're 50 years old now. It's not going to be an intense life changing experience to watch them now - they've being doing this for 30 years. If you want that sort of show, go and watch Bloc Party (who are excellent in their own way) or someone else 25 years younger

You should really make an effort Seb and visit her more often, she's a nice lass.

From all the bad vibes lobbed towards the latest album I feared the worst when listening to snippits for the first time 'for evaluation purposes only'. 'Some' of the music was not comparable, but better than 'classic' material back in the 80's heyday.

Like SB points out, the young thespians have aged - how lucky we are that they've matured into something wonderful.

I listened to the title track of WFTSC and was ecstatic to be enjoying a New Order track that was equal to 'any' of their 'best' moments from their dense, most beautiful volume of work.

Answer this; name another band out there that are still unveiling music of equal standing to their best work?

exactly H. I'm not saying they're above all criticism by any means - I personally don't think too much of Krafty, but it irritates me that 'fans' of the group are so hypercritical of them. We should just be grateful they are producing such very good music, while realising it'd be pretty miraculous for them to ever write another Temptation, BM, Ceremony or True Faith.

SB - can I ask you a personal question? - have you heard WFTSC (the title track)?

:hat:

no, not yet. couldn't access the evaluate file thing.

from various reports likening it to Leave me alone and Dream Attack (2 of my all time favourites), I'm looking forward to hearing it though

SB, I can confirm that the song is comparable to LMA, DA, TMW etc. - and I don't mention this lightly.

The reason why I mentioned if you'd heard it was based on your 'mild' defence of NO's music of late. If you had heard WFTSC (title track) you might have taken a firmer hand.

IT IS BEAUTIFUL.

In context, I wondered if they'd ever top Turn My Feet - my prayers were answered. In short, I've ordered a box of the finest light onion flavoured for release day. The wooden slats are already getting cut for the toilet seat.

couple of things i noticed from these video files:

1.) Gillian does indeed look pretty good for a woman her age. She usually dresses in such frumpy outfits, but seeing her in a pair of jeans was actually pretty flattering for her figure.

2.) Looks like Stephen added 2 more "toms" and another crash "cymbal" to his virtual drum setup.

3.) No way in hell they were lip-synching

4.) They sound pretty damn good live. I'm the kind of person that goes to see live music at small DIY basement shows, large warehouse style clubs, and everything in between, and I see MANY bands that can not live up to how they sound on their records. New Order do better than most bands, and are still going at it very well despite their age.

5.) The samples of Kylie Minogue were probably just a fun stab at her, or as you English say "taking the piss out of her" (I hope that's the correct syntax for the term). I found it pretty amusing!

Is it just me, or does that crowd noise sound, um, added.

Actually, when I saw this, I was amazed that Bernard has so much energy for his age.

Not so long ago my parents were his age, and I wouldn't see dance the way he does and everything.

Seems that people are seriously forgetting about this fact of life.. they are not 20s anymore!

My most heartfelt thanks for putting this online!

And YOU, Warner spy, yes, YOU! Release the album with a free DVD of this stuff attached! It's great stuff and you should put one of those huge stickers saying: "INCLUDES A FREE DVD FEATURING NEW ORDER LIVE AT THE NME AWARDS AND RECEIVING THEIR GODLIKE GENIUS AWARD!!!" I think you'd get back some of the sales that will go lost if just the album gets released alone, with the same songs on P2P networks for the last two months... And it's great stuff to promote the band...

And you, all you other cynical bastards taking the piss out of our poor old heroes, what do you have in place of your heart? I find these videos genuinely touching. Oh yes Bernard's having some problems with his voice, but it just happens, right? This doesn't mean he'll do the same in concert, or at every concert, performances are different... for example Liverpool 2001 was messy (it was the first of the tour though) while Paris 2002 was excellent... Also the studio environment is quite different from what you get on a proper stage... Anyway things get better with LWTUA (and I like when he shouts "come on!", it's just that little bit punk we can enjoy it, while I also could do without the whoops in Atmosphere of course, but that's a slow number) and Blue Monday, with the amusing Kylie mix... And yes, great to see Gillian again... I just felt proud for them, who at their age they can still be the best, and for that award, which is not to be too underrated since it comes not from a magazine oriented to the classics like Mojo, but from a weekly more oriented to the young trends which easily stops respecting older artists. It's important for them to be recognized in those pages and in front of those people. One of the best things I've ever seen on the Internet! :thumb:

I believe they played:

Krafty LWTUA and Blue Monday

'only'

Have to agree with Huntsman once again: WFTSC is magnificent, best track of the album by far.

And I find it reassuring that New Order themselves had the clearvoyance to hear that in their song so much that they named their album after it.

That song is an absolute gem and by itself would be enough to make the new New Order comeback worthwile.

I never got a chance to see New Order perform live, but I do appreciate what I can view through this site and other videos that are available.

I feel kind of bad for Barney. He literally has to look down at the monitor after every line. I know that has to be frustrating for him. Maybe thats why they don't perform huge tours often? Is it just me or did Hooky look like he was ready to collapse when using the drum machine on blue monday?

There's definitley something off with the sync but they were nice performances otherwise. During Krafty, they definitely have some sort of backing track for the background vocals; Barney's voice is mysteriously doing vocals right along with Dawn(she's mixed in a bit too loud) if you listen closely. There's no backup on the main vocal since you hear him goof the lyrics and hear him catch his breath on one part. As for the teleprompter... did you ever stop to think what kind of effect all those drugs could have on a person's memory? If Barney needs to read his lyrics so be it...

All he needs to do is perfect the art of reading it before he screws the line up!!
