Muted Hooky

Why did Hooky let them soften Sunrise & As It Is And When It Was on the albums??? The Hookmeister growl was only ever heard live. But The Stranglers & even Entwhistle had their live sound put on record, were our producers so crap? I guess I've answered my own question!

I think sunrise is one of the best hooky lines ever, AII,WIW is a bit soft all round but a corcking bass anyway.

Broken promise is disappointing bass-wise compared to live. I love the live Hooky sound on that one.
