iam i right in thinking that ian curtis last song he sang on was in a lonely place the demo on the box set heart and soul?????????

I thought they rehersed it and recorded it on a crappy taper. According to Retro they had to run the tape through an equalizer so they could transcribe the lyrics.

It's believed that in a lonely place was recorded in april of 1980, which was before their final gig at Birmingham.
