I'll kick it off with:

Although in my humble opinion their greatest songs were from the old days, there greatest albums as a whole have been the most recent offerings, they really sound great from start to finish...so here is my two cents (or pence for the brits).
I have high expectations for wftsc... :)
I have serious reservations about all this extremely anal ranking/scoring of albums that seems so popular these days, but seeing as moaning will have me labelled as a miserable cunt, here is the best-to-least-best truth of the matter:
PC&L - Technique - Low-Life - Brotherhood - WFTSC - Get Ready - Republic - Movement
BTW: lame old lovelorn sad-sack that I am, I really like Movement despite it's lowly ranking.

i'm probably the only person that's insane enough to put get ready as number one... then again, it was the album that really got me into new order in the first place, so it will always have a special place in my mind.

That's my ranking at the moment. I'm really enjoying the new LP because to my ears it seems to be their most consistently good one since Technique. I have very fond memories of Low-life with Face Up being one of my favourite NO tracks; it reminds me of sunny road trips when I was over in the States in the late nineties. Ace times 
I've never really cared much for Movement or Get Ready. Movement didn't really make an impact on me bar one or two tracks and Get Ready contains some of the worst songs of their career which ruins the overall LP for me. PC&L and Brotherhood suffer from inconsistency problems too, but to a much lesser degree than Movement and GR. They're genius albums too of course. Republic at number 3 I hear you say? Well it was my introductory New Order LP and in general I prefer PSB-like dance tracks to straight guitar rock any day. Some of the bands highest points (and artwork) is on that LP: Regret, Ruined in a day, Everyone Everywhere and Special. I even enjoy Times Change, it was something different at least and once you get past the duff lyrics the experimentation in the arrangement is quite interesting, but I know some people find it offensive 
Avalanche is dreamy/sublime and a nice finish to any LP.

Don't get me wrong: I've really enjoyed WFTSC as I've enjoyed Republic, but Regret is one of those perfect/classic NO tracks that unfortunately lacks in WFTSC.

The bottom 3 are all level pegging,not really keen on putting the albums in 1 to 8.

Only heard a few off WFTSC, but I doubt I'll rate it any higher than Brotherhood...
On WFTSC, the great moments actually outnumber the duff ones. It's nearly as coherent and listenable from end-to-end. It's for this precise reason that Republic, PC&L, and Get Ready suffer on my chart.
Republic is far from excellent, but the tragedy is that semi-precious rocks like World, Ruined in a Day, and Everyone Everywhere sounded like they should have belonged on the real Republic; in an alternate universe where Republic was the logically progression from Technique with cleaner and more introspective sounds. Get Ready is like a rushed quilt, too many thin spots and plain gaps in the whole. PC&L, similar to Republic, holds some of the most potent tumbler rounds in NO's assault rifle, but for me the ratio of experimentation to solid content is just too lobsided.
New Order's best albums have been gestalts on the ear and WFTSC holds true to that effect.(If you don't know what a gestalt effect is, that's okay, but you should probably read more)

Any album that contains the holy trilogy of Your Silent Face, Age Of Consent & Leave Me Alone has to be number 1.
Movement is a close second - too many people on here judge it retrospectively from a "Blue Monday and after' perpective but if you were there at the time the only problem with it wasn't that it was too much like JD but that that it wasn't enough like JD. It's actually a very logical follow-up to Closer and holds a very special place in my heart.
The new album has some truly great moments - the title track, Who's Joe? & Turn are all excellent.
Brotherhood is a hastily thrown together collection of half-finished songs and Low-Life suffers from that horrible mid-80's drum sound that ruins many an albums from around that time.

hard choices really, every album has its own feel. But this is my feel right now.
Why is everyone ranking Movement so low in the polls,It's a great album,much better than Get Ready,Republic.Maybe it's because everyone just hasn't listen to it in a while,I hope that's the reason

Difficult to judge the first 2 because the singles were off the album, but still... how would you rank them?

I'd say 2 to 6 could be a tie in 2nd place... it's pretty difficult to rank this...

Technique and Low-life regularly swap for the #1 spot, depends on my mood. They're both untouchable.
Republic used to be in 3rd place but as of this year WFTSC has beaten it into 4th, a complete return to form. I still like Republic alot as it was the first NO album I picked up and the first five tracks are brilliant pop songs. It picks up towards the end with Special and Avalanche, two beautifully produced numbers which everyone thought were New Order's swansongs until '98. Aside from that for me Get Ready and Movement suck, with barely a handful of truly memorable tracks on either 
They can be forgiven for Movement because of Ian, but they could've produced so much better than the damp FM guitar rock of GR.
Thank god we got WFTSC to make up for it

This is not to suggest I do not think some of the bottom albums aren't good. I do own all 8 of them including Substance, Retro, and a few radio sessions and live compilations. New Order is the only group (that has made at least 4 albums) where I have all of their albums. I wouldn't buy an album if I did not think it was great, regardless of who recorded it.

hmmm, obviously I did this twice, and WFTSC climbed 3 places whilst Movement lost two. And that despite I still think WFTSC is really mediocre album

Rankings by tiers:

Technique is their only flawless album. There are some songs I dont think are flawless, but the whole of it is perfection. PCL gets a ranking ahead of Low-Life Strictly on the strength of the classic songs housed on it (Age of Consent, Your Silent Face, and Leave Me Alone, all superior to the very best of Low Life).
*** albums 4. Brotherhood 5. WFTSC
Brotherhood is a borderline 2.5 star album, with muddy production and inconsistent song, WFTSC has a few near classic moments, lots of solid stuff and little in the way of garbage.
** albums 6. Get Ready 7. Republic 8. Movement
Get Ready has the consistency that Republic lacked, but features not a single classic tune, Republic has two classic tunes, but a ton of filler, Movment just stunk, as far as I'm concerned, some interesting moments but no songs i ever have a hankering to listen to unless im depressed or want to listen to strange early eighties synths.
This is really tough right now..
Technique is definitely my favorite. Republic was my initial favorite when I became a fan, but PC&L or WFTSC could bump it down to 4 at any time. The bottom 4 are definitely in that order.
Side Projects (where they would rank with NO albums)
This is not a permanent list, but somewhat close to the truth for me probably. I just think Brotherhood is a bit weak in relation to most New Order albums, and i cannot rate WFTSC call too high, because it is competing with albums that have defined brilliance, and i feel it would be an injustice to rate it higher then almost any of the other new order albums at this point, its gonna have to earn its way up there. I know i speak for myself here, but before putting WFTSC high in you're rankings, consider what you are placing it above, Technique, low life?? For me, its a no way.

Better late than never... I'm surprised no one inserted Joy Division studio albums into the mix, so here goes:
If I could add the 1981-1982 EP, I'd put it right above #3. NO/JD have so many great singles outside the albums, too.

For what it's worth:-
How lucky we are to get an album of such quality in WFTSC at this stage of their career. Sure people will correct me if I am wrong but is it the first record to have (obvious) slide/wah and 'whammy bar' guitars? (HEY NOW, MORNING). Phil's added some real buzz and bite to the guitars , they sound great, a real improvement on the clangy GET READY, IMHO. Everyone can be heard for that matter - Steve really drives the songs along (and pushes them into the stratosphere in some cases), Hooky just keeps doing his thing and Bernard, while no obviously great singer, vocalizes his lyrics brilliantly with those little nuances that one comes to love. Well done lads!
Here's to JETSTREAM winging it's way into the Top 5...they bloody deserve it after this record.
I love get ready since it, too, got me into new order, and my fave song is run wild :)
I can't stand a lot of songs on WFTSC only because the vocals (esp bernard's) drives me up the wall...
hey joe makes me itch for the 'forward' button like crazy..the songs otherwise are great otherwise, it's just the singing..
movement has a ? because I don't actually have the cd, even though I'm sure I've heard some songs off it..and most of my mp3 files have probably been labeled wrong by whoever I downloaded it from...
I'm sure some of it would get pushed up or down if I took the time to really go through the albums and listen to them again, but my readings for class are calling to me...

Low Life - A close second. Great stuff !!!
WFTSC - This really is No3 for me at the moment. can't stop listening to it.
PC&L - It was close between this and WFTSC as my
third choice, because this has Age of
Consent, Leave Me Alone, YSF and The
Village, four of my favourite New Order
tracks. WFTSC just nicks it at the moment
though.
5)Brotherhood- Loved this when I first bought it. Bored of it now though.
Get Ready - Solid but nowhere near as good as WFTSC in my opinion.
Republic - I love Regret and Special and I really like Everyone Everywhere, Young Offender and Spooky but I don't really listen to the rest much.
Movement - This is probably the NO album i've listened to least. I'm not saying its necessarily the worst but it's my least favourite.

Throughout the course of this discussion I'm amazed by two things. (1) How poorly Republic is regarded, and (2) How well Siren's Call is regarded.
I think Republic is totally underrated and has some of New Order's best songwriting, even if Hooky is sorely missing. I still don't get WFTSC unfortunately, the second half at least.
I'm not at all surprised by the low regard of Republic, Brad.
It's consistently slated by most music journos and even the band themselves. The 2-3 good tracks there are sunk by the deadweight of some of NO's worst ever material, in all its limp, overproduced glory.
I'm more surprised by the polarisation of respect for PC&L. Almost sacrilege in my book.

I'm mostly surprised by the distance between PC&L and Low-Life in the rankings. To me, they're almost like Part 1 and Part 2 of the same record. I'm finding it hard to grasp how someone rates PC&L, say, as No. 1 and Low-Life as No. 6 or 7.
Still, they hit U.S. shores just about simultaneously (in New Order album release time), so that has something to do with it.
That said, I listened to Movement twice last night, and I'm tempted to move it up above both Brotherhood and Republic.
Like other members has stated, the list changes over time. However here´s my list

PCL is my 3 and Low-Life is my 5, but there is quite a big gap for me.
PCL has 5 great songs- Leave Me Alone, Your Silent Face, 586, The Village, and Age of Consent And no duds
Low-Life has 2 great songs - This Time of Night and Sunrise And on the other end it has Face Up :-/
Technique-Fantasic no filler Low-Life-As above just not as good Movement-Hugely underrated probably the one I play most PCL-Getting weaker, but YSF, AOC and LMA all masterpieces Republic-Also underrated, the last three tracks especially Brotherhood-Redemmed by BLT and especially All Day Long Get Ready-Just not very inspiring WFTSC-Sorry I don't like it at all

I can appreciate both sides of NO, ie the "classic" NO sound of PC&L and the more JD sounding Movement. Movement will always rank highly for me, because of where I was in life when I first heard it and how it spoke to me at the time - now I can appreciate it differently but it still has that emotional impact that none of their other records have. The other side of NO is the more daft, dancey stuff that I can appreciate in a totally different way. Get Ready and Republic will always anchor the bottom 2 spots - one or two great tracks surrounded by unadulterated, overproduced crap.

Get Ready's not bad,Crystal and 60 mph are brilliant,just not enough to save the whole album.

Interesting comment, I can see where you're coming from, but I don't think they sound like a part 1 and part 2.
My main problem with lowlife is it doesn't really introduce any new ideas into NO's music from PCL. Where PCL ws groundbreaking, LL seems to sit still a little bit to me. Whereas this is also true of more recent material, the songs themselves on WFTSC are a lot stronger.
LL's also dated far more than the other albums IMO. I'm often suprised that NO fans rate it as highly as they do.
So now I'll my put my ranking not considering only the personal taste but also the importance of the albums for the band and music in general... 1. Power, Corruption & Lies: New Order showing they were the best band in the world, even after Ian's death. The first album that really sounds like pure NO for me. 2. Technique: NO at their best, the top of their career. 3. Movement: they show they can go on even after Ian's death 4. Get Ready: after 8 years, the best band in the world IS BACK! And they rock! :D 5. Low-Life: the band members shows up their faces even in the artwork :D And they come to perfection on what they experimented in PC&L. 6. Brotherhood: a very good album, in their glorious years - and with one of the best pop songs on Earth (Bizarre Love Triangle) 7. Waiting For The Sirens' Call: another try to do what made them greatest, less shame on trying to be New Ordery 8. Republic: the first album to have co-written tracks on it (Regret, Spooky, Liar, Chemical, Special), but some credit for them for giving us Regret, one of their greatest tracks ever.

So did I - always thought that Hooky's bass was never really featured in the right way on that album - too 'electronic' that put me off. Probably why I rate the offshoots as:

#6) Low-Life (Too short of an album and featured a painfully truncated version of TPK, but still a good album)
#7) Republic (Some hits, too many misses; overall, I don't hate this album, I'll occasionally listen to it... it's just... different)
#8) Movement (Still have a hard time to this day getting into this album; few good tracks and the rest is easily forgetable)
