BERNARD SUMNER refuses to write lyrics in daylight, because words tend to pop into his head with greater ease when he's tired. The BLUE MONDAY star used to hate his old method of leaving lyric-writing until the last minute and finds his nocturnal method more productive. Sumner says, "First I come up with melodies, then in the evening, I'll start writing the lyrics. "I don't do them in the daytime because, when you're writing lyrics, you're dreaming really."
