Just how friggin' wonderful is...

I've had it on replay for the past half-hour. This MUST be a single.

So out of the few songs I've heard from the new LP, this is the only one that has the "Technique" vibe that Peter Hook has been talking about for the past I don't know how long. Everything else has been fairly guitarry. Which is fine and dandy, of course, but I was under the impression that there was gonna be more of a mix this time 'round.

So, what else on the LP is akin to this? Anything?

Well? ANYBODY!?

Or are you ALL just gonna pop this open, read it and then say ABSOLUTELY NOTHING?

It's the least played song of WFTSC for me.  I've been listening to Who's Joe A LOT lately.

So where would you say "Who's Joe?" falls on the spectrum? Thumptastic or strumriffic?

Oh, and a gold star for actually piping up, 5 8 6. :o)

Dracula's Castle is as close to the Technique sound as you're going to get.

I'm too frickin' old to figure out this new-fangled technology...

So I haven't heard it yet..

But from what I've read, it IS the track I'm most interested in hearing.

Love it,  I also love the title track.  The 2 stand outs for me.  It almost takes me back to Technique.

It's like Oct. 2001 was my last hit of the junk and I'm going to make myself wait until April 26 for another fix. Man, this holding out stuff is a pile of shit. I don't remember giving up NO for lent...

Awful backing vocals. PLEASE dump these on the US remix.

Gee, I absolutely LOVE the backing vocals on this one. They fit perfectly (unlike, say, the ones on "World," which felt like they came from Rent-A-Soul™ Industries).

Its supposed to be a duet, with the chick from Scissor Sisters.  The Backup female backup vocals I don't like are from the song beforethat; Jet.

The backing vocals give it dance-floor cred, IMO.

Wait, I thought the Ana Matronic duet was "Jetstream?"

In any case, I totally love the call-and-response vocals in the chorus. More hooks than a tacklebox.

Ms Matronic is indeed on Jetsream. Some weird gremlin is doing the backing vocals on Guilt.

Oh, and good LORD does this sound great on high volume.

I'd like it better if Barney and Hooky weren't snapping pernods open all throughout the recording and passing them off as FX samples.

It's easily the best thing they've done in nearly fifteen years.

I guess "Dash" is better than "Danielle Ash"

PS: The song is actually pretty good.  It reminds me of Sweet Lips from Music for Pleasure.

guilt is indeed a a top disco choon,it aint earmarked to be a single though.

from what i can gather jetstream is up next then a possible 3rd un if all goes well.

and personally i think turn has deffo got that technique vibe to it,and dont forget that at least half the songs written are still in the can and aint been heard yet so its possible that there are more techniquey tunes in there.

Gotta agree - great song that is completely ruined by the backing vocals.  They transform a new New Order classic (I mean, how great is Hooky's bass at the start of the 2nd verse?   ) into something that I'd be embarassed to play for my friends :dead:

Good point, Eternal. Maybe the next LP will be more shimmery.

I'm really amazed by people's negative reactions to the backing vocals on this (embarrassing? really!?). I think they sound incredible - they just work.
