Will Jetstream go Top 10?

Would be the first time a NO album had 2 top 10 singles. Think there is a fair chance, as a lot of people it will appeal to won't have the album. Then they may buy the album, too, and halt the usual drop after a month down the charts. A masterplan!

And the title track will surely go Top 20 if released. This album could make NO really big again. You can tell, by the amount of publicity it's getting, even if it's not all positive.

Remember.. the single almost every New Order fan hated is their only #1...

Should do. It'll have two key markets (NO and Scissor Sisters fans) and is catchy and poppy enough to reach beyond both fanbases, so as long as they keep the Barnster and his mates as far away from any visual promo as possible I expect good things from it.

By the way, if it is released on 16 May it'll be in direct competition with the new Oasis single...

I thought Jetstream was a joke the first time I heard it.  But I have to admit I've coime around to its idiot charm.  In fact it's in my head right now.

As for negative publicity: I've been meaning to go on a rant about some of the mediocre reviews of the album for some time now.  Usually I figure if most reviews say something is good, it really is good.  But I don't give a shit about reviews anymore.  Take Brian Wilson's 'Smile'.  It was the best reviewed album of the year, and I like the Beach Boys so I thought I'd pick it up.  It's the most retarded, pretentious bullshit album I've ever heard!  For f**k's sake, it's got marimbas on it!!  And Rolling Stone gave Aphex Twin's 'Drukqs' ONE STAR!  ONE!!  It's not his best album but there's no way in hell it only deserves one star.  And has anyone forgotten NME giving N*Stink's 'Pop' the title of BEST SINGLE OF ALL TIME!!  When was the last time anyone heard that piece of demographic-tested crap?  When was the last time anyone listened to N*Snyc period, quite possible the most soul-sucking, laughably awful band of all time?

Reviews now are just the editor's desire to reflect back the tastes and opinions of what they imagine are their demographic.  No more, no less.

If the New York Times likes something - it's pretentious crap, or 'from the street'

If the New York Times doesn't like something - it's probably pretty good.

The New York Times will not like WFTSC...

From what I've heard so far it sounds like a great album...though every NO album to me has been a bit underwhelming at first, they grow on you like a motherfukcer.  Going to listen to the streams of the new album for the first time...a special occasion...
