*WFTSC*

NOOL Posts:

There she plies(?) the lonely trail Getting through the breaking winds Drifting slowly from the coast She is lost forever more ... I've got it all Cause you were not the one I don't know where to turn when you're gone When you're gone

I hear:

There she plies a lonely trade, Cutting through the breaking waves, Drifting slowly from her coarse She is lost forever more. ... I got it on, Cause you were not the wrong one...

*I Told You So*

I told you so It has to be Cut loose news and runaway with me We'll go out every night I'll be there by your side And we'll all get high down the ...' side

If i hate the job and I hate the place But I must stay for your pretty face It's a f*** reaction I can fix Cut me with those free ___ tricks(?)

I hear:

... Cut loose and run away with me We'll go out every night I'll be there by your side And we'll all get high down the old westside.

If it ain't the job, and it ain't the place But I must stay for your pretty face, It's a bad reaction, I can't fix You caught me with those feline tricks.

Anythoughts?

Rockit.Cheers, Love and Peace.

Generally agree, except it's "course" not "coarse" in WFTSC.

But apparently Nic has other things on his mind than lyrics, since he hasn't posted the lyrics that HW, Old Blue and I collaborated on for Working Overtime and Dracula's Castle. I did the easy parts; HW and Old Blue did the hard parts.

Well, I will update them... once this nightmare of the server move will be over!!!

IMO these are the lyrics:

WFTSC

What does this ship bring to me Far across the restless sea Waiting for the sirens call I've never seen it here before

There she plies a lonely trail Cutting through the breaking waves Drifting slowly from her course She is lost forever more

We all want some kind of love But sometimes it's not enough To the wall and through the door With a stranger on the shore

I won't desert you I don't know what to say I really hurt you I nearly gave it all the way

I've got it all ’Cause you are not the wrong one and I don't know where to turn when you're gone When you're gone

Gotta catch a midnight train First to Paris then to Spain Driver with a document All across the continent

City life is flying by The wheels are turning all the while Get on board we can't be late Our destination cannot wait

All the stars and all the worlds Filling up this universe Could never be as close as us Will never shine as bright or burn

I won't desert you I don't know what to say I really hurt you I nearly gave it all the way

I've got it all ’Cause you are not the wrong one and I don't know where to turn when you're gone When you're gone

I won't desert you I don't know what to say I really hurt you I nearly gave it all the way

I've got it all ’Cause you are not the wrong one and I don't know where to turn when you're gone

How many times must I lose my way, hey How many words do I have to say, hey What can I do just to make you see That you're so good for a man like A man like me

I Told You So

It's been ten long years since I've been home I've been waiting here with nowhere to go It's an occupation I don't like But it pays the rent and turns on the light (all right)

I told you so It has to be Cut loose and runaway with me We'll go out every night I'll be there by your side And we'll all get high down the old west side

If it aint the job and it aint the place Well I must stay for your pretty face It's a bad reaction I can’t fix you caught me with those feline tricks

and I told you so It's a crazy world For a mixed up guy And a no good girl (and an awkward girl?)

And I told you so It's a crazy world For a mixed up guy With a no good girl

(Take her, take the world)

I told you so It has to be Cut loose news and runaway (runaway) with me We'll go out every night I'll be there by your side And we'll all get high down the old west side down the old west side, down the old west side, down the old west side (Take the world)

I think the big mystery in WFTSC, Cuana, is the second "missing" word. It seems to me it should rhyme with "us" the way "shore" does with "door."

Will never shine as bright or burn

I'm fairly sure, thought at one stage it might be 'as bright above' which would make sense. The other vocal & a drumbeat really mask it, but I think 'or burn' is what i am hearing.

Apart from the fact that it's not the right rhyme, it is certainly plausible. The next time I listen I will keep that in mind.

As I said, it's the biggest mystery on that track, so it would be nice to have it resolved.:)

Could it be that in Sirens he says "travel without documents"? (oh how I wish). :confused2:

Sorry that should be:

Gotta catch a midnight train First to Paris then to Spain travel with a document All across the continent

Dont know why I typed 'driver'

Yeah you're probably right although TRAVEL WITHOUT sounds better to me. ;)

I think it's pretty clearly "document" not "documents" since it clearly rhymes with "continent."

And I think we only hear the things we really want to, in other words "travel without documentS all across the continetS" would make more sense to me. Sorry, just having a breakdown due to difficulties with getting my visa for the UK.

Sorry to hear that, M. :(

You must be extremely upset, M. It's even affected your normally flawless spelling!;)

You're right, P. Hopeful it is. Hopefully you will post Morning, Night and Day lyrics here too. :)

We've had them, haven't we?

Yes Biggy I remember that but you know I'm much too lazy to search for them again.

You just put your feet up, dear...

One time didn’t do it Two times didn’t feel quite right I didn’t know where I was goin I just knew that I would be alright

I woke up in a drunken haze The sun shone through my window pane I said that I would never do it again What kind of fool do you think I’ve been

It happens Always seems to happen Morning, night and day I just want some action Give me satisfaction Send me to my fate Morning, night and day

I had a good time late last night I didn’t think it would ever end I walked home in the broad daylight Couldn’t get a cab at half past five

One drink wouldn’t do it Two drinks were far too much I didn’t know what I was doing I hit the floor in a pile of dust

It happens…

So if you think that it won’t get you Well think again friend cause it’s not true In my case it was not my fault Other people made that call One time didn’t do it Two times didn’t feel quite right

It happens Always seems to happen No matter what I say Morning, night and day I just want some action Need some satisfaction Before it gets too late Send me to my fate Morning, night and day

Thanks Biggy. The only reason I asked for them lyrics is I couldn't really understand the line "send me to my fate". Bloody Barnish! ;)

Other people MADE that call

Also, I think it may be "TO my window pane," although "through" would certainly make more sense

Patrick wrote: Other people MADE that call

Of course it is. MADE would be grammatically incorrect, with relation to the preceding line.

I have made the necessary correction, and also removed the word “MY” which was incorrect.

Unless the window pane in question was heavily tinted or, arguably, the curtains were drawn. I've listened again and I'm convinced that it's through.

I can accept that choice.

Cuana, I would need to check that, but BIGINOIL's "I've been" has the virtue of rhyming. But as I said, I'd need to check it.

I defer to the member from Dublin. Both corrections are valid.

It will be revealed live.

As a matter of fact, I am on the way to get the Canal+ mp3
