So is the 2x12" only a promo or will the vinyl be sold in shops as well?

Sold in shop... it's not a promo... big sleeve with 2 discs in it...

I have the promo as well, which has no sleeve..

So does that mean that the "Morel's Pink Noise Dub Mix" is exclusive to the 2x12" promo?

That's what I'm thinking.

Although there must be some more US promo CD/CD-Rs floating around?

I picked up the US 2 x 12", the remixes aren't bad. Reckon the Krafty remixes overall were pretty solid, made the most of a tune that was a tad average by NO's standards.

Just won the Aus 5-trk Krafty CD for $aus7 on Ebay today. Any chance of "previews" of US-only release tracks making it across the Nullabor, DC? (RK, CTB and I wouldn't mind it if they did...hint hint....RK has my address)

Sure it's possible, Shergold.

Either drop your email into a message here or I'll get it through RK next week.

If there is a promo, I never got it!

We received US promos, but they are 1 track promos... and we're giving them away in Chicago...

So far, the Morel Dub is exclusive to the 2x12" promo it seems... but I'm pretty sure in house CDR will appear sooner or later like SLY and TF2001...

Thanks for the thought, Shergs - but I'm pretty well sorted for Krafty remixes. Feel free to drop me a line via Kasier Kirsh if you are interested in any one in particular.

Incidentally,I realise it's none of my business but I'm a little puzzled why you paid $7 on Ebay for a cd that you could buy new at JB HiFi for $5

It's really none of my business to question you CTB, but perhaps he was referring to a promo?

Aha - my mistake, file this one under the already enormous stack of 'CTB's stupid comments' files  Apologies for the misinterpretation. CTB :bear:

Eric Kupper's Club Mix and Morel's Dub are longer on the release than on the promo...

Ah, so the tracklisting for the 2x12" mentioned above is for a released 2x12", rather than a promo? :)

I downloaded the Krafty (album re-edit) from the Real Player Music Store and it clocked in at 4:32, while the discography has it at 4:53. When I listen to it, it sounds exactly like the proper album version which is 4:33, so does it sound like I got ripped off, or am I missing something here. I called Real Player to bitch about it, and they did give me a .99 cent credit. I recall their being a Barney (re-edit version), does anyone know what the time is on that version?

I also downloaded the Glimmers Dub Version at 5:55, while Spotnicks 2X12 Album has it at 6:54. Are their two versions of the Glimmers Dub. Boy, how to keep track of all these versions.

Eventually we hope to get all these anomalies cleared up and on record for both the NOOL and TLV Discographies.

You are correct with the discrepancies of the Glimmer times.

The mysterious Barney Edit turned out to be one of the more common mixes, the Album Re-Edit I believe.

Perhaps when the US vinyl and CDs are available next week, we'll have it all sorted.

That's what I don't get. The times on my US vinyl promos don't match the times above, but Nick still says they're the US promos he received, not the commercial releases?

Do they look the same, Nick? Plain black cover with red sticker?

Yes, I do have both... the one above is the release 2x12" and CD...

No, it's the UK sleeve... with the car...

The vinyls are black with white lettering... if I have a chance, I'll take a picture, but since I'm leaving for Chicago tomorrow, you might have to wait a little...

That might be the "Bernard's Edit"... it was supposed to be exclusive... ask Nick King about it, I never managed to download it (because I was unable to connect to the US store!)

your krafty CD back sleeve has a hole in the bar code (like mine). What is this ? I wonder since I received it...

if it's a promo...that's one of the things they do to ID it as a promo...holes in the barcode...saw cuts in the spine...

like that would keep ME from buying it...

To avoid it from being scanned in a shop, since these are "not for sale"... hence it says they are promo copies.

  1. Riton Re-Rub Remix (6:54) is different version of Krafty mixes promo UK?

I don't think so! Why?

For what it's worth, the DJ Dan vocal mix is super tasty. :thumb:

As is Morel's mix.

I didn't find any yet... not even sirencd.com, who has the UK one.

Probably because it's mislabeled on the UK promo as "Re-DUB", so he asks...

I just checked the fine print on my copy and it turns out I got the Aussie version .

I first saw it listed on the Tower Records web site.

these three new versions might be more dancefloor friendly in a generic sense but are not as interesting as the Phones or Glimmer versions IMO. the Morel's (has a blue monday beat for fun, otherwise pretty boring) and DJ Dan (better than the Morel's, best of the newer three remixes) do make a good attempt at keeping the core song in the mix, but I think the UK version choose the best remixes. the Riton Re-dub is fun too, glad that got offically released.

so which version (if any) actually gets much dancefloor play? the Phones Reality mix is the only one I could imagine getting much notice

Hooky's been playing the Pink Noise mix as his DJ set and I must say, it rocks in a club...

Seriously, so is BLT by Crystal Method...

My first reaction to these three new mixes is negative. The UK mixes are much better.

Depends of the environment really... the Morel mix is a club killer, it's really THE mix to play for the dancefloor.

I haven't heard it under those conditions, Nic.

Does the CD version of Amazon (US) have that tracklisting for sure? For some reason Amazon doesn't list the tracklisting and I don't want to order something that turns out to be different. Can anyone confirm the tracklisting? I never see it in stores anyway.

I ordered the CD from Amazon US, and I can confirm that it has that tracklisting.

On further listens, I can understand how the Morel mix might sound good in a club, but over headphones, it's too close to the original.

Of the three new mixes, I'm liking the DJ Dan mix much more than the other two.

In response to negative comments about the Glimmers mix, I suspect that there is far more new production on that mix than the posters making those negative comments realize.
