From the Scissor Sisters website:

Their manager is the one who sent me the dates in the first post of this thread. All they know is that they're recording the show today, they won't know when it's going out. But that's definitely the full list of artists for tonight's show on the TOTP website. The New Order performance is more likely to go out on next week's show, with the single being released next Monday, or even the week after, when the single has charted.

had about half a dozen texts from mates all basically saying shite song, shite dance, shite live, sell out,my 11yr old daughter will buy it..........that sort of thing.I do think jetstream is the shits too,but cant wait for the hyde park gig(GET IN THERE).But this shameless cash in, toss song, has done enough damage to the 2nd best band of all time.Too much for my liking, considering the bands own philosophy

Defo not New Order's finest... but so was their only #1...

They said it, they are trying 3 different approaches.. so far Krafty's approach has failed, we'll see if Jetstream works, then we'll see if WFTSC will work...

This is bad news with TOTP. My little boy (Whose 4) was allowed to stay up...and they did'nt play!! He's gutted. He alreday knows the lyrics!! Think I may have corrupted him, although he says its not as good as LWTUA or Temptation!! His thoughts were..."They got caught in traffic"!!

This is all becoming very processed, boring, embarassing and sad - just watched a bit of them on CD:UK and I had to switch VCR and TV off. Heard an interview this week where Hooky was going about how they have never 'sold out' -??? if you are too old to be doing a job - you shouldn't be doing it - its only a matter of time before the Health & Safety Executive does something about them

I've loved NO over the years and was excited to see that they were on Jonathon Ross last night.

Somebody needs to have a word with Bernard. What's he doing? How can the one time coolest band in the world turn into such an embarrassment? Bernard whooping and gurning and the stupid dances. It must be a joke surely?

Quite like the song though.

But is this an age/money/success thing? Maybe they don't care anymore. How many other bands go the same way? I can think of a handful that became an embarrassment to watch, for different reasons (Stranglers for example).

As it happens I'd watched an old JD video from 79, Transmission on Something Else I think - just compare and contrast. Cool.

Am I the only one thought last night's appearance on Jonathon Woss was fuckin ace?

If people could only accept the band for what they are, not what they were. They've been the epitome of cool since they started, and I haven't suddenly changed my mind about them.

Roll on Barca and Hyde Park. I'll certainly be enjoying it for everything it is.

Whoooo:D

The whooping Gurning and dancing was superb, what a true star BARNEY is.

The dance moves where sublime :thumb:

it's not as if they haven't been an embarrasment on previous occasions, the 'touched by the hand of god' video isn't exactly what I expected from former members of JD really. I never liked 'face up' all that much or 'every second counts' either. all of this is from the 80s as well, they've been crap and brilliant before so jetstream is just another example.

You're not the only one mate! I enjoyed every second of it:thumb: B. dancing most certainly rules, big time!!

let's get wicked...here's the second one! Barney's face looked like he almost exploded. That's probably why he started 'dancing'... Let's wait for wftsc as a third and excellent single..that's vintage New Order...thank you thank you:bow2:

Didn't I used to work with you?! :skeptic:

It was you who told me when we were out on the sauce one night that the band were back for the Phoenix. Could've knocked me down with a feather!

Anyways, Barn's been 'dancing' like that for years, now. Bless. Even did his ligaments in the US recently performing one too many twists and turns. Poor lad was hobbling around on crutches and getting on/off planes in wheelchairs so surprised he's made such a 'recovery' for last night.

Hope all's well! :thumb:

I'm not sure if we do know each other. I do know an Al Jarvis, but that Al Jarvis is still in London I believe. I went to see the Fall with him in Camden, circa 97 (when MES had just sacked his band!). If it you - hello and fancy meeting you here Al! If it isn't you, well hello Al anyway. I'm new to the news group, and I just felt compelled to write after last night's show.

Back to the Barney thing, I know he's been doing some "moves" for a while, but they just remind me of someone's Dad at a wedding reception or something...

I laughed my arse off when he did that running on the spot dance. Classic classic Bernie. What a complete tit! Very funny. What is happening with his voice though?? Oh my God.

:bag: and a :bag: for Bernard please

Yep, it is me. Er, I've just been following them around the US. Some bad habits you can't quite kick! I'm still London based and still at the bank!

You going to Hyde Park at all? I believe AB was mulling it over (given the proximity to our offices). Mike W is defo going (he's doing Barca with me in 2 weeks) and Marthalie is also considering it, seeing as she's now dating a much younger NO-loving bloke!

Hope all's well, Al.

PS. Thanks for reminding about that Fall gig. :evil4:

Ace for a live gig yea but shambolic for a prime time TV show, they would have been better showing the Baywatch video :evil4:

NOT that it sounds like this tv appearance is worth watching,

BUT, where can we see it online???

I ask this because US fans put up the US tv stuff immediately!

With all this UK tv stuff, why no uploads? Or am I just stoopid and missed the links??

Now that the order has departed nyc, we statesiders still need our fixes!!!!

uploads please!!!! :)

[or are they getting so bad back in the UK that it is too sad to expose everyone to??? I could understand that. For the first time in my life I am bummed about Sumner....]

When I thought about it (and after reading the other posts), I realised that there "could be only one Al Jarvis". It had to be you. I'm good thanks, and still at the bank (HSBC).

I'm still in touch with AB, so I'll mention it to him soon. I could be tempted to see them at Hyde Park.

That Fall gig! Memories. Mark E Smith - another gurner.

Look forward to catching up properly Al. Cheers Dave

tend to agree, compared to the hammerstein rendition, this was certainly lacking - have to say though that Ana matronic was largely responsible.

The daft post about replacing Barney with Pottsy was pretty "stoopid"

I'm sure someone from here who has the technology to do it will do it soon. That is, if you'll want to watch it:evil4:
