NME reiterates "new album" news

If WFTSC's songs were picked to make it sound out smoothly, then perhaps this new album will be something very different. New Order never ceases to leave stuff to the imagination!
First of all, this is great, 2006 is another year we get to see NO all over the place; gigs, TV, radio... They might calm it down a bit though this time around, but still, there's guaranteed a few appearances here and there 
I was mentioning in another thread whether this material will be more like their older dance style or whether they'll go mad on guitars, most probably though it will be more the same of WFTSC, perhaps the left over tracks are all guitar, or maybe they're synth, who knows at the moment.
Should be good, we have more new material to look forward too.
its hard to believe that they can just turn off instantly the surge in ideas/creativity and that they could resist the urge to tinker/ mess with/ redo/ remix with what they got... heck, the redid "Guilty" and "Jetstream" many times. or yet even write a couple of more tracks.
all sounds kinda fishy to me. :shrug its only human to put most of their best tracks on the first record, but who knows. wonder what type of singles they got lined up for next year, and who produced them?:
of course, two albums and some nice festivals for two years is good for the retirement plan:) and i don't blame them... after over 25 years they have certainly earned it, hopefully they wont have to worry about money and they can take care of their kids and travel and have fun
This is great news, another New Order album coming soon. Do they really need to wait 'til '06 to release it? I suppose Sirens does need some time to breathe. I'm ready for more!

Well, Brotherhood came right after Low-life and it had Bizarre Love Triangle on it. So yes they can have kept good tracks for the next album

I kind of think if they had to include Dracs Castle on WFTSC they must have really been scraping the barrel.So you would think the other songs must be even worse than that crap.

Instead of releasing 2 albums in quick succession - couldn't they have just released one good one - i don't mind waiting years for a masterpiece - but i'm sorry lads - WFTSC didn't even make it on my ipod - 3/10 must try harder. In fact all these NO tribute bands around at the moment (Killers, Bravery) are actually putting the real thing to shame.

I've mentioned this before, Hookey said somewhere that he wanted to include some more more neworderish songs on Sirens, but got out-voted. We can assume that these are the songs left over, and that they will form the basis of the new album. Therefore, we can expect something quite wonderful.

Also I'm not ashamed to say I like the Killers' album more than WFTSC. What is so wrong about saying that? Does it make me less of a New Order fan? Fuck no. Does it mean I hate WFTSC; again, fuck no. Hot Fuss is just an album, imo, that has only two tracks I don't care for (Andy You're A Star and Everything Will Be Alright); every other track is good or great.
I like WFTSC very much, but there are more than two tracks that I skip over regularly (2 [it's an alright song, but it's too much like track 1, so I skip it :p ,4, and 11). For some reason more of the Killers' songs are more striking to my ears than WFTSC (GIAUE and Morning Night and Day being exceptions).
Now this next statement will get some comments, but I prefer the new Erasure aldum over WFTSC as well :p

*Everything. It's just because they're a new band, they sound more exciting to you. The stage where I tried desperately to like the new bands is over since Britpop for me. I just realized we still have a lot of great artists from the 80s doing great music, so if Shed Seven suck, fuck them, no need to pretend to like them. I'm not saying you pretend to like The Killers, you really like them, but even comparing them to New Order is offensive and insane. It's just another league, like comparing your mates to Premier League football players. Oh, wait a minute, you're American, not sure you'll get it, but you know what I mean. The Killers for you have that naive charm of the new that makes them exciting, but no doubt in 10 years time you'll laugh at yourself for daring to write their album was better than New Order's.
