what equipment did hooky use on Unknown Pleasures

bass, pedals, amp etc?

Well he had a rickenbacker, seen some pics, and you can SO hear one several places on UP. Think the Shergold Modulator was somewhere between UP and closer, the Marathon soming later....barney also had a matching shergold. Hooky has always had a boner for Ampeg amps, so he prolly had one of those as soon as he had some cash, but you don't USUALLY mic a bassamp for a studio. As for pedals, the classic Hooky twang is an electro harmonix Clone Theory . Sticks out like mad on some JD and early NO recordings when there's no gate to cut off it's washing machnine racket when Pete aint playing., many other chorus devices have been used, but if memory serves, he still buys up clones when and wher he sees them, and uses them whenever noises is still not an issue.

As for UP, if I were you I'd look in hannet's direction for anything on that album.

The Current rack is a tuner, compressor and some multifx....al times 2....if you look real hard you'll see his huge rig is actually a primary and backup, two identical setups.
