Alright, I think it's really time to move on. As you can read, the forum lost its moderator, so this is now the bad moment of the day, it will be rough to moderate this forum.

I have to agree, managing this site is almost a full time job, we were 2 and it wasn't enough. Back in November I finally decided to get back to the mail I flagged to be "read later" and I had to scan over 3000 mails.

This give you an idea of how much mail we are getting, and the load of work.

And the popularity of this forum increased so well that it became impossible to read and check everything..

So I guess most people can understand this, it's a lot of work, and I've been busy building a web application for work for the last 2 months, and guess why I didn't update the site as much, I was sick and tired of seeing a webpage when I was getting home :D

But I don't want to complain about anything, I think the system is self-sufficient, I enter the news when I get them (thanks for your collaboration) and I try to enter data when I have some spare time..

Of course the major "change" was the girlfriend, I had a lot more time by myself before :D This has a major impact on my involvment in this site.

So what I'll say is, we're all civilized people, and we can behave. I will probably try to find some helpers to help managing this forum and try to follow the community standards.. sure there will be problems, we'll deal with them.. most problems can be solved by appoligizing and dealing with people.

I have to stand united with Sebastien's decision, we had our disagreements and had a long talk yesterday, no I don't want to sell this site (anyway, I don't think anyone would buy it!) and no I don't want to close it.. New Order is one of my favorite groups, and this website is my learning school for my job, so I'm very pleased with it.. and it's by far the most popular site hosted by my job, which is why I had to remove the mp3s, they were killing our T1-Line, and with a bandwith limitation, the site was way too slow.

And for Huntsman, I did you a favor yesterday, I have to agree that if I was in Sebastien's place I might have done differently.

Of course my "style" is to send a warning, not to do it automatically, Sebastien had its reason I guess, and so be it.

As for publishing your real name.. anyone on this forum can find it anyway, you state it yourself in your earlier posts.. so it's not such a big deal. We made a little exception with you for a long time, you should actually feel previledge, since you had a fake profile since almost the beginning, and many did imitate you.

I respect the privacy, if you enter a profile it's because you want to publish those information.. We decided to "clean" our database for once, it's written in bold that you have to use your full real name to register on this site and have a valid email address..

For some reason, I get 20 mails a day from the system saying an email bounced, or that the email they gave has a full inbox (so it's an email they never check).. this is a little frustrating, if you can't conform with the "rules" the owner put, then why the hell do you register for?

But I don't blame anyone, this is normal.. I would myself do it if I wanted only to gain access to mp3 files.. we had to get an email validation to stop the "goat raping" incident from our previous forum system, and I think it's fine.

So what I'm saying is, we must all learn from this incident, and let's try to avoid this type of conflict in the future. I don't like to force people to conform to things, but by registering usally you conform with the terms of use, if you don't, then don't come here..

Alright, I need to go back to work!

P/S: Huntsman, this was not directed to you at all, I was speaking in general!

I'm quite happy to help with moderation or any site stuff that needs doing - I run several sites myself professionally, including interactive features and all that jazz. I'm also on here about 12 hours a day (it's great getting free internet at work !). Let me know if I can be of any assistance :)

Nic,

I'm glad to see everything is going to be alright again. I would like to thank both of you for the great job you've done in creating and maintaining this site. I'm sure it will live long. I hope you'll find an equilibrium between your professional life, your private life, and the work that this site requires.

Cheers!
