Anyone else notice he seems to be wearing an awful lot of Adidas clobber these days? I've not seen him wear anything other than those virgin white Adidas trainers at gigs since 2001 and lately he seems to be donning Adidas t-shirts, jogging tops, the full wardrobe  I think he even said in a recent Q mag interview he prefers Adidas at all times. Where will it end? He's beginning to look like an Adidas sponsored football coach from some county league team!

I reckon he's got a deal going with the Salford branch of JD Sports, he does a bit of advertising for them and gets free sportswear for the tour.

Agreed... Barney showing with Adidas clothes on starts to be pathetic. If he doesn't do it for the money, what's the rationale here??? Can't believe it!

At least a certain Serbian fan looked good in Adidas clothing at the Hyde Park gig

I think it's all rather amusing. Maybe you could get him to wear a NOOL T-shirt for Fuji?

At least Barney is thinking of exercise- maybe he will eventually get around to giving birth like Hooky has...

Maybe it would be easier to convince Hooky to do that ;)

We almost did it in Chicago, but found it might be rubbish to give them to the band...

Barney wore an Adidas shirt (and white trainers) 9/9/1987 in Salt Lake City.... Kinda seems like it is his 'comfort clothing'

I have a PUMAS fixation, but as long as he doesn't look like some "Pimp of the week", he can wear what he wants.

I have the Ian Brown sneakers, tho dare not wear them for fear of soiling the bastards 150 quid rip offs..but I had to indulge..crazy I know only 5000 pairs worldwide tho

But maybe in ten years time, there will only be a hundred or so minty pairs around...more likely adidas will put them in mass production for £30 a bleedin pair, the greedy corporate shitbags:skeptic:

Think it's more than a fixation. Surely there's some sort of sponsorship deal in place, not just with Barney but the whole band. Hooky's been rockin' a fair bit of the trefoil logo too.

I've got a brother-in-law who does the same thing here in Aus for Nike. Hangs out with name musicians with street cred and gets them to sport Dunks in their promo shots and onstage.

Incidentally, those Ian Browns, Underworlds, Run DMCs, etc, Superstars are certainly collectable but the ultimate is the 35th Anniversary White Model:

Super Rare!

Only 35 released to the public, all leather, each with an individual leather carry case and accessories. Even Barney probably missed the cut for these badboys.

Superstars are shite. You got well ripped off.

Barney doesn't have a fixation. This is a fixaton.

I know or we know that ripped off!!! other people that get them also said the same thing so there is no need to say that again. For the superstar that are shite go and tell it to the following people: Noel and Liam, Ian Brown, Gewn, Missy, Kate Moss etc etc. etc. etc.

I must stress my collection is far smaller than the one above, which by the way the owner described as 'some' of his.

Superstar are for bad hanks. To add to the above list of quegs, Chris Evans had them on on Top Gear last night. My portmanteau is in a state of repose.

Didnt the addidasen guy originally invent trainies for a czech athlete, klempa, klopek or something? Remember an ad on the telly a few years back.

Mite b wrong,as for barney an ad - e- das could probably be sponsered or he might just like shopping at sports soccer as its cheap as chips! :thumb:

Anybody ever read the history of Adidas in the Beastie Boys' Grand Royal Magazine (the third issue, naturally)? A very good read about all of the errors that the company made in a number of markets, including the US which featured a burgeoning company called Nike.

It's got to be some sort of Barney/Adidas sponsorship deal really.

But if not it's certainly a bit strange... I mean I like cool trainers as much as the next man, I've got a particular pair of Puma's I'm very fond of but I've never felt inclined to deck myself out from head to toe in Puma merchandise because of them.

I think youve hit the nail on the head. Barney probably should have been served an ASBO for his antics on stage, over the years. Liam Gallagher later became a chav and now its probably Mike Skinner from The Streets.

Adidas is named after adi dassler. But Puma was "dassler", too. It comes from the same small town in Germany, Herzogenaurauch. Both dasslers were brothers and enemies, too.
